Purpose: This study examines the impact of competition and concentration on bank income smoothing in Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries. Design/methodology/approach: The two-step system GMM method was used to analyse the impact of competition and concentration on bank income smoothing in 17 CEEs from 2004 to 2015. Findings: Loan loss provisions (LLPs) are negatively related to bank competition and concentration. The authors find no evidence for income smoothing using LLPs in a high-competition or high-concentration environment. Research limitations/implications: A limitation of the study is that the analysis was restricted to commercial banks. The authors did not examine investment banks or microfinance banks in this study. Pollution originating from the life cycle of packaging is increasing and can have potentially irreversible consequences for the environment. In the beverage industry, the most common materials used for the production of primary packaging are glass and plastic. The objective of this study was to compare the environmental impacts of polyethylene terephthalate and glass bottles. The Leopold Matrix was applied to evaluate the environmental impact of the life cycle of both bottles, using information from a wide range of scientific articles and peer-reviewed indexed journals. The evaluation took into account the abiotic, biotic, and anthropic components generating negative consequences for ecosystems, human health, and fauna and flora. The scheme is oriented to the design of regenerative systems, with cycles of reuse, recycling, dynamic reconfiguration and feedback of by-products or energy, in correspondence with the circular model. El desarrollo industrial y el crecimiento poblacional están generando la sobreproducción de residuos. En ocasiones estos residuos, aunque inertes, se disponen a cielo abierto causando alteraciones al ambiente, particularmente en el paisaje. Llantas, sobrantes de construcción como pedazos de tubería y tierra, material de poda de arreglos de zonas verdes, bolsas plásticas, son ejemplos de algunos de los residuos que pueden llegar a encontrarse. En este trabajo se evaluó el uso de estos residuos en la preparación de muestras de mampuestos de concreto y de tierra que fueron ensayados a compresión mediante la construcción de muretes. Industrial development and population growth are causing the overproduction of waste. Sometimes these materials, even though are considered inert, are disposed on the land causing alterations to the environment, particularly in the landscape. Examples of these wastes are tires, construction rubbishes coming from pipe and soil, some pruning material and plastic bags. This paper focuses in the use of this kind of waste to prepare masonries of concrete and others with soil; were used both masonries, named ecobricks, to build short walls that were tested in compression strength. La investigación se realizó teniendo en cuenta el Objetivo: Demostrar cómo, las NIIF para Pymes inciden en la toma de decisiones de la empresa CORPORACION VADIS S.A.C. - CORPVA S.A.C Lima en el 2018. La investigación es aplicada, de enfoque cuantitativo, nivel descriptivo; el diseño es no experimental, descriptivo y transeccional. La población y muestra estuvo conformada por 15 trabajadores de las áreas que comprende la empresa. Las técnicas de recolección de información datos fue la encuesta y el instrumento fue el cuestionario. Se realizó el análisis de información mediante la tabulación de datos, elaboración de gráficos estadísticos. This research examined the relationship between pedagogical accompaniment and teacher performance in three schools of the Red 08 network in Puente Piedra, Lima, Peru. A questionnaire was administered to 48 teachers to measure their perception of pedagogical accompaniment and their self-assessment of teaching performance. The results revealed a high reliability of the measurement instrument (Cronbach's alpha > 0.94) and moderate positive correlations between PA and two specific dimensions of TP: preparation for student learning and teaching for student learning. However, no significant relationship was found between pedagogical accompaniment and overall teacher performance. These findings suggest that pedagogical accompaniment can positively influence specific aspects of teaching practice, but its impact on overall performance may be attenuated by other factors. Impacted teeth are common and are often treated with orthodontic eruption, but unwanted periodontal problems can start with the treatment. The present article develops the principal periodontal considerations to know during orthodontic treatment and we report two clinical cases where the maxillary canines get an adequate amount of keratinized tissue following these concerns, preventing at this way the subsequent periodontal alterations.
