Descripción
Sumario:Although it is not given the importance it deserves, the cardiovascular impact of menopause is a real problem, both for personal health and for public health. All statistics agree that after 55 years women lose the protection conferred estrogen and therefore the incidence of cardiovascular disease approaches the man. It has been demonstrated in different epidemiological studies that estrogen replacement therapy reduces coronary risk by 50% on average, and this effect is even greater in women who have had a myocardial infarction. Few public health measures have such an important effect.
