The towns of Urubamba , Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu Cusco department suffer the problems of environmental sanitation by disposal of solid waste without technical criteria . The landfill area is a physical space that has no environmental technical condition and high demand costs for project implementation , because the physical elements of nature are utilized. The feasibility of using landfill area is based on geological environmental assessment , which means fixing all environmental technical aspects : location, accessibility, topography , geology , climate, water surface and ground conditions, physical security aspects and conditions : air safety, integrity of natural resources and cultural assets , existing infrastructure , projects of urban, regional and national development, among others. The Suyo Municipality is impelling projects to solve the environmental problem for the inadequate handling of the solid residuals, one of those which is the project of sanitary filler for the city. In this sense, the present study is a basic investigation to develop a project of sanitary filler in an area of 0.75 Has., located in the km 1000 + 132 in the road Sullana-Las Lomas-Suyo, and seated in the alluvial cone of the Qda.
