Research of pre experimental type. The present research aimed to identify significant differences between pre and post test moments after an application of a program of scientific experiences in a sample of 20 children of 5 years old from preschool level of the Breña distric (capital of Lima). For this purpose, an instrument was developed to measure the observation and problem solving components. For treatment were developed 20 sessions of scientific experiences with focus on discovery learning. The findings corroborated that there was a significant improvement in research ability and in its three components; with significance less than 0.05. From descriptive results, a higher benefit was demonstrated in problem solving dimension reflected in its measuring ranges.

Objective: To identify ethical problems that Peruvian young physiciansmay face in their clinical practice. Material and method: Fourteen hundred and twenty nine (92%) physicians registered in the competition for residency vacancies in Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos for year 2009 participated in this study. The Hurst et al. scale for ethical experience was used, its validity was established in a peer-reviewed analysis, and its reliability was proved using the Cronbach-alpha test (749). A data base was elaborated using Excel tables and the SPSS-15 statistical package was used for frequency and chi-square analyses. Participation in the studywas on a volunteer and anonymous basis. Results: Of 1429 participants, 57% were male, mean age was 31.4 years (SD: 5.1), the age range was between 23 and 58 years, participants camefrom 26 different Peruvian schools of medicine a...

The analysis of the mathematical performance of the students favors the adjustment and individualization of the educational processes for this area of learning. Due to its relevance in daily life, the teacher must bear in mind the functionality and transfer of mathematical learning. The generalization of research that combines theory and practice is essential. In this sense, there are few studies at the curriculum level for mathematics related to the education of gifted and/or mathematically talented students. Thus, it becomes pertinent to analyze such mathematical skills and the factors in which these students stand out. The purpose of this study is to analyze the types of mathematical reasoning and representations based on problem-solving tasks expressed by gifted students on an educational level with a good performance in the area of Mathematics. Forty-two students were evaluated as g...

In order to investigate the conception of the Andean people about gnoseological problems, conceived from these categories: possibility of knowledge, elements that intervene in knowledge, process of knowledge, telos of knowledge and conception of truth. An ethnographic-hermeneutical method was used in the town of Rosaspata, Ayacucho District, Huamanga Province, Peru. The key informants were the yachaq (people who preserve the knowledge of the original peoples) authorities and elderly residents. It was evidenced that Andean people conceive knowledge as a process that begins in the sensory phase with the rikuy (see), the uyary (listen), accompanied by the ruray (praxis). It passes to the second phase of rational operations such as yachay (knowing), musyay (intuiting), and hamutay (reflection), in which true knowledge (chiqap) is acquired, as a correspondence between the knowable objec...

This article describes the construction and validation of the “Scale of Social Problems in Chile”. The scale was developed considering the main social issues at a national and municipal level. The instrument was validated using quantitative methodology, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The participants were 456 residents of the Valparaíso municipality, Chile. Cases were selected using quota sampling to reflect the demographic composition of the region in terms of the sex and age groups found in the municipality. Exploratory factor analysis was conducted using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) V24.0, while confirmatory factor analysis was performed with R console and the Rcmdr interface. These analyses made it possible to establish that the factor structure of the scale differentiates national problems from local ones.

Objective: To estimate the prevalence of drug-related problems in patients who received cancer treatment. Material and methods: Observational, prospective and descriptive study carried out at the Daniel Alcides Carrión III Hospital of EsSalud, Tacna, 2018. The population consisted of 45 patients over 18. Patients with oncological treatment were included and data were collected through the clinical pharmacy chart for pharmacotherapeutic follow-up. Results: There were 36 women (80 %) and 9 men (20 %), high frequency of breast cancer (53.30 %), prostate and ovarian cancer (6.70 %). High use of paclitaxel (14 %), gemcitabine and cyclophosphamide (9.30 %). The most frequent problems were non-compliance (2.22 to 0 %), interactions (24.44 to 13.33 %) and probability of adverse effects (93.33 % which remained constant). Conclusion: There is a high prevalence of drug-related problems in patients...

The Achenbach Inventory of Behavioral Problems (test/retest reliability = 92) was administered to 908 adolescents in Lima, aged from 11 to 18 years, 621 coming from the control group (normal) and 287 from the experimental group (clinical group with divorced parents). Results showed that the experimental group exhibited significantly higher scores (T ? 70) than the control group (T < 60), the former reaching pathology level indicators. Moreover, a non-significant tendency to obtain higher T scores is more observed in females than in males. From the study results we can state that the Achenbach Inventory is a valid instrument for a screening process of children exhibiting behavioral problems that require psychological or psychiactric intervention in Peru.

This work aimed to identify the relationship between Resilience, Coping, Social Skills and Problem-Solving, and compare said constructs between psychology students and students from other areas of human sciences. Eight hundred sixteen (816) university students from public and private institutions in the state of Rio de Janeiro whose age ranged from 17 to 44 years participated in this study. The research instruments were: Social Skills Inventory Scale, Problem-Focused Coping Scale, Resilience Scale for Adults, and Problem-Solving Skills Scale. The results showed differences between the groups of students regarding social skills deficits, and a positive correlation between the Problem-Focused Coping Scale and the Problem-Solving Skills Scale. This data contributes to the initiative of adjusting the educational program for the purpose of developing the social interaction skills involved and...

We report 30 cases of tuberculosis of the breast observed among 1,023 male and female patients who consulted at the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases with the presumption of being carriers of mammary tumors. Tuberculosis of the breast in our study represents 2.94 percent of all breast lesions. The disease has been observed in all ages, most frequently between 30 and 40 years; 67 percent of cases was included in this decade. The clinical course of the disease goes through the stages of nodule, skin adhesion and fistula, with or without lymphadenopathy. From the viewpoint of differential diagnosis with carcinoma of the breast, it is possible to distinguish two periods: an initial one which shares many of the physical signs of carcinoma, and other subsequent, very characteristic that identifies with the stage of fistula and which can make the correct diagnosis. The pathological stud...

Objetive: The aim of the study was to determine the factors associated with the perception of problems presented in medical consultation in four cities in Peru. Material and methods: Multicenter, analytic and transverse study, carried out between May and June 2015 in hospitals of four Peruvian cities (Lima, Ucayali, Piura and Ica). The PREMEPA scale was used to measure the characteristics of the medical consultation also medical data was recorded. Statistical analysis sought associations and p-values, through generalized linear models. Results: 804 people were surveyed. 57% were women (459); the average age was 45 years (range 26-59). Lima was the city with higher frequency of problems presented during external consultation (35%). In multivariate analysis, the frequency of problems presented during external consultation decreased with a better service (RPa: 0,7; IC95%: 0,6-3,09), better ...
