This study aims to know how the training processes of practicing teachers contribute to the construction of beliefs about teaching at the university. Froma qualitative methodology with agrounded theory approach, professors from public and private universities were selected through theoretical sampling. In-depth interviews were conducted to collect data whichwere analytically coded. Among the results it was found that the teachers' beliefs come frominstitutional training of a normative typewhich emphasizes a functional teaching in didactic techniques, use of technology and innovation, excluding training in knowledge of the discipline they teach. Thus,it was also found that teachers carry out self-training processes on a personal initiativefor updating scientific knowledgeand develop their practices teaching with strategies that they themselves use to learn, because they believe in their o...

The improvement of teaching demands a constant analysis, reflection and criticism of the practices developed by teachers; in this sense, the objective of this article is to identify which categories should be considered when analyzing the teaching practice of university professors, as well as the aspects that are addressed from the literature when studying the processes of teaching reflection; for this, it is necessary to start from the basis of how people reach knowledge, our thinking structures, the ways in which we learn, how we reflect on our teaching practices, and the models that we create and consolidate to develop our practices. From this context, a review has been made of the approaches of different authors who, since the beginning of the 20th century, have formulated different theories regarding the beliefs, personal epistemology and didactic thinking of teachers, as well as th...

This study examined the self-assessment learning practices of student teachers in Peru. The research design employed an exploratory approach, and the sample consisted of 201 students, predominantly women, aged between 20 and 24 years. The Learning Self-Assessment Questionnaire, previously validated in Ecuador and Mexico, was adapted and used to ensure content validity for the Peruvian context. The findings revealed that the students relied more on self-grading processes, primarily for summative purposes, rather than engaging in self-evaluations with formative intentions. Consequently, they lacked the ability to effectively utilize self-assessment information to regulate their own learning, thereby limiting the development of metacognitive processes. This finding is paradoxical considering that these student teachers will be responsible for facilitating the learning processes of future st...

Teacher training for the effective implementation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education has become a key aspect of educational research. In this regard, the lack of appropriate models to support teachers in their professional development is evident. An investigation has been conducted on the most effective ways in which elementary school teachers acquire their digital competencies based on the contributions of 23 experts. Using Delphi methodology with two iterations, expert knowledge about the problem was probed to learn how it is developed and refined. Adopting the theoretical lens of Learning Ecologies, the results provide a contrast on which components support effective professional learning with respect to ICT integration, laying the groundwork for new methods and approaches to professional development.
