This methodological article explains a conceptual and practical approach to Structural Equation Models or Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). SEMs are considered among the most powerful tools for the study of causal relationships in non-experimental data. They are a combination of factor analysis and multiple regression and are composed of two components: the measurement model and the structural model. The measurement model describes the relationship between a series of observable variables; while in the structural model the relationships between variables are hypothesized; i.e., the relationships between latent variables are described with the use of arrows. Performing a SEM involves five stages: (1) A specification of the Model; (2) Identification of the Model; (3) Estimation of the Model; (4) Evaluation of the Model and (5) Re-specification of the Model. This article provides a series...

There are two ways to solve problems in organizations. The fi rst is the traditional one, which states that unwanted situations are resolved by identifying the troubling facts and applying the appropriate technical tools, the second approach considers the resolution of problems is preset by the manager based on their perspective and infl uenced by the circumstances surrounding it. This paper is based on the second side, the manager knows business models and paradigms are learned through actual experience, theoretical study, technological design or creative intuition, which provide a particular perspective on the problem, which is complemented with relativism of circumstances: 1°) the role and status by level of resolution, 2°) professional and choice preferences, 3°) goals, group identity and culture, 4°) historical path and epistemological framework. The study will allow managers to...

Objective: This study aims to propose a comprehensive approach to five theoretical dimensions, characteristic of social entrepreneurs, to design a conceptual model that analyzes them based on macro-level psychosocial constructs such as beliefs and practices. Method: A qualitative study was conducted with 16 social entrepreneurs from the city of Lima (Peru). Using a deductive thematic analysis, their careers were examined and made operative based on their beliefs and/or practices, and on more specific psychosocial variables such as values, attitudes, behaviors and traits. Results: The attitudinal dimension of Positive Attitudes Towards Sustainable Practices (PASP) is the articulating main point in which all participants’ experiences come together to define their social vision, of axiological nature, promoting competent behaviors including innovation, networks and financial returns. Conc...

Tourism is truly an international/global industry. Tourism is vital to the economy of a country and sustainable tourism development requires an understanding of the complex interrelationships and interactions among a multitude of environmental factors and interdisciplinary forces that play a critical role in tourism development. While overall the field of tourism has been abundantly researched there are certain areas where there is a paucity of research namely competition analysis branding and positioning. Our research contributes to this extremely important but relatively less researched subject. Specifically we study the relationship between destination development and its brand image. We develop a conceptual model which identifies various constructs processes and linkages involved in the relationship between destination development and its brand image. We propose that the brand image ...

This study develops and empirically validates an integrated conceptual model that investigates the causal relationships among Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Jidoka, and economic sustainability (ECSU) within the manufacturing industry. Based on Resource and Capability Theory as well as Systems Theory, the model posits that TPM directly influences both jidoka and ECSU, while jidoka acts as a mediator in the relationship between TPM and ECSU. Utilizing structural equation modeling (SEM-PLS) and data collected from 357 surveys of the maquiladora industry in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, the analysis confirms that TPM positively affects jidoka (β=,632, p<0,001) and ECSU (β=0,340, p<0,001). Furthermore, jidoka contributes significantly to ECSU (β=0,358, p<0,001) and mediates the effect of TPM on ECSU (β=0,226), resulting in an increased total effect of β=0,566. The researchers con...

915/5000       The purpose of this work is to show a management model of the water resources of the different basins that make up the Bambas Basin in Apurímac, with the purpose of contributing to the primary extractive industry in a sustainable way. There are various computer applications for basin modeling and, due to its multidisciplinary nature and specific specialty of the subject, for an integral modeling several of them must be used, among these we can mention the HidroGeolAnalyst, ModFlow, GeoChemestry, among others, with which surface and / or underground water modeling can be done in its lagoon and aquifer aspects, respectively. This work proposes the application of the use of water resources in the area, thus suggesting that prospecting and exploration works should consider these aspects within their respective campaigns...

The present study aimed to provide a conceptual model of cultural policy-making in Payame Noor universities in District 8 based on piety and virtue. In this study, the components of cultural policy based on piety were first identified through exploratory studies and surveys of knowledge-aware experts using the Delphi technique, and then these factors were tested in the form of a model designed in the statistical population. The statistical population of the study was 30 experts to test the model and to measure the research variables according to the managers of District 8 Payame Noor University; the head of cultural affairs of the university and clerics and professors of Islamic education department of Payame Noor Universities District 8 were used, which were 110 individuals. Due to the limited statistical population, the census method was used. The present study is a descriptive-correla...

The aim of this paper is to analyze and systematize subjective change in education based on a review of the main contributions derived from national and international studies on subjective theories (ST) conducted to date in the field of education. An overview of the research on ST in education is presented. Findings are then analyzed and systematized in a model of ST change in educational contexts that considers: (a) a paradigmatic framework, (b) a change process, (c) change factors, and (e) change indicators. In the conclusion section, a summary of the process of ST change in educational contexts is proposed, based on empiric studies reviewed and testable in future research, and the limitations that must be overcome in order to make strides in the construction of a theory of ST change in education are discussed.

An analysis of family and sexual violence in the district of Pampas was made through the application of Soft Systems, a methodology that includes hard systems, which were clearly applied to technology (Checkland, 2000), being very inadequate to investigate systems large and complex organizational structures. The study area comprised the district of Pampas, where surveys and interviews were conducted with 360 people taken at random, the design of the structured problem on family and sexual violence was carried out considering the conceptual models of the mayor and the population, the model was built of confirmed and validated primary task based on said models obtained, whereit is appreciated that using a strategic plan and good education reduces violence. In summary, the application of Soft Systems positively influences the identification of alternatives to counteract family and sexual vi...

Purpose – In this study three models were empirically compared the DeLone and McLean model the Seddon model and the Modified Seddon model by measuring the impact of a business intelligence system (BIS) in companies in Peru. After that the mediators and dependent constructs were analysed todetermine if they were behaving properly (a good level of variance explanation and significant relations with others constructs). The study used a sample of 104 users of the BIS from companies in several important economic sectors in a quasi-voluntary context and with six constructs: information quality system quality service quality system dependence (system use) user satisfaction and perceived usefulness (individual impact). Design/methodology/approach – To interpret the results the authors used structural equations. The idea was to look for the best fit and explanations for the outcomes. The main...

Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a common mental disorder affecting a significant percentage of individuals worldwide (0.7 % - 5.9 %). However, it is also one of the most challenging disorders to address due to the severe impairment it causes in diagnosed individuals’ social and occupational functioning. Therefore, this review presents various theoretical aspects to broaden the understanding and treatment of BPD. It begins by describing the diagnostic criteria for BPD according to the DSM-5, the psychopathological characteristics based on Millon’s personality theory, and the mechanisms of chronicity. Subsequently, it explores the etiological causes, related clinical syndromes, and the use of third-generation therapies as psychological interventions for BPD. Finally, it presents future lines of research and their implications to contribute to a comprehensive conceptualization ...

The Ica Valley, located in central and western Peru, is the main valley with agro-export potential due to its high rates of productivity and quality, while the aquifer from which water is extracted faces intensive groundwater extraction, leading to a considerable drop in piezometric levels due to overexploitation of the aquifer. We have proposed a conceptual model to establish the interconnection between the rainfall that occurs in the upper basin and the Ica aquifer, as well as the recharge mechanisms. Additionally, an isotopic and geochemical monitoring network has been established at strategic points from the lower, middle and upper basins, for the evaluation of groundwater, surface water and precipitation, this has allowed us to understand that the Ica Aquifer is recharged mainly by water from medium elevations. and upper reaches of the basin and it is at these points where artificia...
