This study analyzes the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics in education, assessing their impact on 200 teachers and students. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining surveys, interviews, and field observations to collect data on participants’ perceptions and experiences. The findings indicate that 75% of respondents believe these technologies foster personalized learning; however, 58% reported technological difficulties, and 62% emphasized the need for teacher training. The discussion highlights that, although 75% of teachers employ basic digital tools, the effective integration of AI and robotics requires overcoming challenges related to infrastructure and teacher professional development.

The research addresses the impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on the well-being of older adults. The problem lies in the lack of digital skills and distrust in technology, which limits its adoption and potential benefits in disease prevention and control. The objective is to determine how the use of ICT influences active aging and disease prevention. A qualitative methodology with an exploratory approach was used, based on focus groups of older adults in Xalapa, Veracruz. Mexico. The results show that, although ICT can improve the quality of life by facilitating communication and access to services, there are challenges such as lack of digital skills and distrust in technology. The conclusions highlight the need for inclusive policies and training to maximize the benefits of ICT in this population group

This article presents various reflections on the use of participatory audiovisuals as a tool that mobilizes communities towards other forms of communication, where collaborative work is valued in order for them to be the creators of their own content, and thus rethink their territories. Taking this premise as a starting point, theeducommunicative strategy, “Pescando historias. Memorias de un llanitero” (Memories of a Llanitero) was developed with adolescents and young people from Corregimiento el Llanito in Barrancabermeja, Colombia, who were trained in audiovisual production with an emphasis on the environment. The methodology implemented was qualitative, from the line of action research (IA), thus providing spaces for participation and dialogue with young people. This research was based on educommunication during the pedagogical training from a critical perspective to strengthen th...

In Argentina, since March 2020, face-to-face classes have been suspended throughout the country, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the education system had to adapt to the distance education modality, and the universities were not the exception. In that transition, different problems emerged related to the didactics (organization, planning) but above all, access to ICT (New information and communication technology) and transmedia literacy. The ICT mediated education format deepened existing inequalities, that is, the material, social, educational, cultural, and psychological of family conditions. This article proposes a case study of the annual cathedra at the National University of Salta. It systematized the extended classroom experience in a previous pandemic period, where some tools like Classroom, a blog, and a Facebook page were used and later the use of virtual class...

The work values an innovation with ICT in pre professional practice in teacher training. Six quasi experimental instances were organized in which didactic trainers wi th students carried out analysis and reflection on 360 ° film units. Three non participant observations were carried out on these instances, surveys (n = 39), seven semi structured interviews and a documentary study of six productions by the participants ( teachers and students). They valued the devices (film units) for constituting a low risk learning environment, fostering collaboration among students, and adapting to their available times. The devices generated constitute a learning tool that acquires val ue more for the didactic intervention that is carried out with them, than for t heir technical characteristics.

The article presents a case study of a hybrid classroom experience in a university class of Social Communication in Colombia, in which an affinity space was built through the use of information and communication technologies (ICT). Using the theories of affinity space (Gee, 2003, 2005, 2017) and connected learning (Ito et al., 2013) and based on qualitative data collected during four iterations of the class “Communication and Interactivity” (2019-2, 2020-1, 2020-2 and 2021-1), the case reflects on the process of building an affinity space and on the design and implementation of a collective blog as a tool for teaching and learning. By analyzing of the contents and interactions created in the affinity space, particularly in the blog, I inquire about the possibilities for innovation offered by designing environments that are production-centered, networked, and that have a shared purpos...

Teacher training for the effective implementation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education has become a key aspect of educational research. In this regard, the lack of appropriate models to support teachers in their professional development is evident. An investigation has been conducted on the most effective ways in which elementary school teachers acquire their digital competencies based on the contributions of 23 experts. Using Delphi methodology with two iterations, expert knowledge about the problem was probed to learn how it is developed and refined. Adopting the theoretical lens of Learning Ecologies, the results provide a contrast on which components support effective professional learning with respect to ICT integration, laying the groundwork for new methods and approaches to professional development.

The small Smart City Laguna, located in the state of Ceará (Brazil), created in 2015 by a holding of foreign capital companies, has emerged as the “first social smart city” in the world. Promoted to serve a low-income public, the new city is composed of standardized single-family homes, social equipment, services, trades, and industries, surrounded by walls and a greenbelt, fueled by ICTs of all sorts. However, this work, through research in primary and secondary sources, reveals other facets of this private town. Through a broader temporal (history) and spatial (territory) view, this article reveals the reasons for the creation of such an urban center and its consequences.
