In this paper, we develop the theme of semiotics as the science that studies the processes of signification. As science explains and interprets verbal and nonverbal mechanisms used to communicate with the man, that is, to convey information about different realities; regularly does so through a range of signs. This is understandable, because in truth, the human being is a symbolic being, par excellence created, issued and interpreted signs, and in turn, organizes and systematizes through codes, in either case, culture is implicit. Without any doubt, to understand the nature of the human being and communication, one must understand the signs and codes. In this sense, for a better understanding and and we include a variety of examples, taken directly from users in a specific context.

Organizations currently use infographics on social media to have a greater impact on audiences. Objective: Characterize the presence of Responsible Communication in infographics published by pharmaceutical companies on the social network Facebook. Methodology: Quantitative, descriptive, transversal, and non-experimental. The variable of interest was Responsible Communication (CR) in two subfields: Corporate Communication and Digital Communication (Hernández-Flores, 2018). 69 infographics published by 4 multinational pharmaceutical companies that had an official website in said network in 2018 were observed. Purpose. The study's main objective is to analyze publications on transmedia and narrative in the Scopus database, identifying the evolution of terms by year, to propose a classification according to the broad themes found. Methodology. We applied an unsupervised machine learning algorithm, called topic modeling, to identify the main themes addressed. Then, we apply open and axial coding from grounded theory to identify important concepts, aggregate them, and propose higher-order themes that can be used to classify the knowledge generated on transmedia and narrative. El objetivo del estudio fue explorar la percepción docente sobre el uso de la gamificación como metodología emergente para mejorar el desarrollo del aprendizaje del idioma inglés en el nivel básico en un instituto de idiomas de Lima Metropolitana. El estudio de enfoque cualitativo con un diseño de teoría fundamentada sistemática y un muestreo no probabilístico intencional. Para la recolección de datos se empleó un cuestionario abierto autoadministrado aplicado a 13 docentes. This article analyzes and compares the cultural and audiovisual features that determine the styles and informative treatment of similar news content, issued by two private means different country: Peru and Spain. The study was made using the protocol Fact Efficient Model Construction (MOCIAE) and detects a clear bias in favor of the government’s position in both countries. The Brexit referendum is a good example of the particular vulnerability of the European project when fighting disinformation. Therefore, EU institutions have developed a series of initiatives throughout 2018 to define a European strategy to counter disinformation that emphasizes the responsibility of social networks in reporting false content. In addition, given the weakness of the European public sphere, the European institutions support the creation of European networks of fact checkers. Argumentation is a process in which reasons and justifications are produced to support a point of view. It has been widely studied due to its relationship with cognitive change and its significance in education at all levels. The present research aimed to explore three cases of university students engaged in debates across three distinct contexts (persuasion, consensus, and free debate) and their influence on the development of dialogue. The study analyzed argumentation and socio-cognitive integration, defined as the ability of students to incorporate information contributed during the debate. The findings align with previous studies but emphasize the importance of examining individual student characteristics in achieving effective socio-cognitive integration and dialogue development. In a context characterized by structural transformations and the credibility crisis of journalism, media accountability is of outmost importance. Focusing on the Spanish context, this article examines journalists’ and citizens’ perceptions of in-house accountability instruments. To do so, an online survey was administered to Spanish journalists, six citizen focus groups were established and 19 in-depth interviews were conducted with experts and representatives from professional associations. The results reveal that journalists’ evaluation of media accountability instruments is modest. The paper presents a review of the literature of news coverage on female presidential candidates. For this purpose, seven coverage frames are included: a) visibility, b) gender reiteration, c) mediation of the intimate sphere, personality, d) thematic agenda, e) tonality and f) particularities of the media. Finally, an operationalization proposal is formulated for each of the frames that could be used in future research that addresses these political figures. It is concluded that women are represented from their intimate sphere and femininity, characteristics that are far from being culturally appropriate for debate in the public and political arena.

Media are supposed to pay special attention to the traditional journalistic ethical norms in the cases of media coverage of bullying in schools (Olweus, 1998; Mason, 2008), insofar as these combine childhood, violence and, in some unfortunate cases, suicide (Herrera et al., 2015). Even if mass media have traditionally avoided these kind of coverage, giving rise to an informative silence that answers to its concern about a possible “imitation effect” (Philips, 1974), it is a fact that the topic has gained attention in the media sphere, probably due a growing public and social interest towards the bullying problem. This article arises from the interrelation of different theoretical and methodological perspectives in the areas of Communication and Anthropology in order to analyze the media treatment of the situation of indigenous peoples in Argentine territory. To do this, theoretical concepts of the Agenda Setting theory were operationalized and a content analysis was developed from the collection of journalistic articles from the most far-reaching online information portals in Argentina, in the period from August 2018 to June, 2019. The conclusions show: a low information coverage on the subject; the construction and reproduction of meanings and representations around native peoples linked to the reinforcement of stereotypes and prejudices; and little opportunity for them to be actors and sources of information.

Research shows that consumption correlates with the experience of subjective well-being. However, there is little literature on this phenomenon among young people. This exploratory study aims to know how university students perceive that consumption and brands intervene on subjective well-being and identify the elements they consider in their consumption behaviors aimed at obtaining well-being. A qualitative methodology of phenomenological design was used, with university students from the city of Lima. The analysis followed a process of descriptive coding.
