La cadera es una de las articulaciones esféricas más conocidas, y está formada por la cabeza del fémur asentada en la pelvis (acetábulo). En las últimas dos décadas, el reemplazo total de cadera (RTC o THR en inglés) ha sido una intervención quirúrgica de gran éxito. Lamentablemente, el Perú no cuenta con un registro nacional como el de la Academia Americana de Cirujanos Ortopédicos. Sin embargo, en base a los registros de los 5 años anteriores al 2020, se reporta un ingreso anual promedio de entre 20-70 pacientes por hospital de nivel II-2 o III-1. La revisión del implante de la articulación de la cadera indica el fin de la cirugía de sustitución con éxito y anuncia una reaparición de los síntomas que, con frecuencia, superan con creces los de la afección inicial. Describe un experimento de reactor de flujo mixto y un esquema de análisis de datos asociado que son adecuados para estudiar los procesos químicos y físicos que ocurren en los canales de piedra caliza utilizados para tratar el drenaje ácido de minas. El experimento simula las reacciones de evolución lenta, casi en estado estacionario, que forman recubrimientos en piedra caliza. Los recubrimientos resultantes se recuperaron para el análisis de su estructura y composición. El análisis de la evolución temporal de la composición de las soluciones de efluentes se utilizó para aislar y comprender los factores clave que afectan el rendimiento del drenaje de piedra caliza.

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar el recubrimiento a base de harina de Amaranto (AF), montmorillonita y tres aceites esenciales (clavo, muña y matico) para extender la vida útil del mango mínimamente procesado. Los cubos de mango se dividieron en cuatro tratamientos diferentes. T1- control (mango sin recubrimiento), T2 (0.3% p/v de clavo), T3 (0.3% p/v de muña) y T4 (0.3% p/v de matico). Todos los tratamientos tenían 0.6% p/v de harina de Amaranto y 0.02% p/v de montmorillonita (MMT) y se sometieron a 5°C durante 12 días. Se evaluaron la actividad de agua (Aw), pH, sólidos solubles totales, acidez, pérdida de peso, color, textura y actividad antimicrobiana para cada tratamiento. Evalúa el efecto protector de las barreras térmicas a altas temperaturas sobre la superaleación de níquel de ZhS6F. El propósito del trabajo: estudiar los cambios en la microestructura del recubrimiento de barrera de pulverización térmica de plasma y el recubrimiento de barrera de deposición física de vapor de arco eléctrico, para lo cual se evaluó el estado inicial y después de la operación a largo plazo. The evaluation of the untreated bovine pericardium xenograft as a biomaterial for the lining of the small intestine anastomosis in equines was conducted. Seven horses with ages between 3 and 10 years were operated on. Two of them were randomly selected, doing a laparotomy to one of them at 15 days and the other at 100 days post-surgery. In the macroscopic and histopathological studies of the cicatricial area of the end-to-end anastomosis it was evidenced that the xenograft does not contract or move from the line of suture, guaranteeing the process of cicatricial remodeling and avoiding complications such as peritonitis, stenosis, abscesses, anastomotic leakage and adhesions. The aim of this study was to estimate the genetic variability of domestic Creole horses (Equus caballus) through genes associated with the coat. Samples were taken through rural excursions between November 2016 and November 2017 in seven populations in Sahagun, Cordoba. Adult horses present in the farms of each population were sampled, where each animal was phenotypically characterized according to the autosomal markers of morphological coding: Extension, Agouti, Cream, Gray, White, Tobiano, Overo, and Roan. The study was conducted to analyze the genetic diversity of the population of cats (Felis catus) of the Colombian city of Mompox, Bolívar. The following genes were studied: Orange, Agouti, Tabby, Dilution, Long Hair, Spotting White Dominant White, Manx and Siames for 200 cats in five neighborhoods of the city. Mompox presented allelic frequencies that ranged between 0.678 and 0.003 for the Non-agouti and Manx markers, respectively. The Spotting White and Long Hair markers showed the greatest diversity; the Orange marker presented disequilibrium in two populations: Seis de Agosto and Faciolince, while Spotting White maintained a Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. El objetivo de este manuscrito fue evaluar el efecto del aceite esencial de muña (Minthostachys mollis) en el recubrimiento a base de harina de maca negra (Lepidium meyenii Walp.) y montmorillonita para prolongar la vida útil del melón (Cucumis melo L.) mínimamente procesado. Los cubos de melón se dividieron en cuatro tratamientos: T1 control (sin recubrimiento), T2, T3 y T4 con 0,1 % v/v, 0,2 % v/v y 0,3 % v/v de aceite esencial de muña respectivamente, además se les adicionó harina de maca (2,5 %) y montmorillonita (0,3 %), posteriormente todos los tratamientos se almacenaron durante 12 días a 5±1 °C.
