Este artículo analiza las políticas de desarrollo docente en contraste con las narrativas cotidianas de tres profesores en Chile que han debido sortear eventos críticos en su docencia. Se realizó un estudio narrativo con entrevistas en dos momentos (2017 y 2021). Los resultados muestran discordancia de ambas narrativas y la escasa pertinencia de la política para la profesionalización docente. Se discute la relación con las formas de contrahegemonía al neoliberalismo educativo y la distancia de las políticas educativas respecto de las dimensiones personales de la profesión docente.

A propósito del aumento de la matrícula de niñas y niños de origen extranjero en el sistema educativo chileno, es objetivo de este artículo analizar la relación entre las necesidades de formación docente en el ámbito de la interculturalidad y la violencia hacia la niñez migrante con miras hacia una educación antirracista. Se presentan resultados de un estudio realizado en dos regiones del país: Metropolitana y Valparaíso. A través de una metodología cualitativa, se aplicaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a docentes y profesionales que atienden a población escolar migrante. Se concluye que existen discursos que reconocen las problemáticas de racismo y discriminación que sufre esta población, así como otros relatos que lo niegan o minimizan jerarquizando las nacionalidades del estudiantado migrante. In 2020, the subject Science for Citizenship was included in the Chilean school curriculum in response to the global challenges to move towards scientific literacy to encourage citizens to participate in decision making for their personal lives or in their participation socially. The objective of the research was to understand the contributions of the subject Science for Citizenship to the Chilean school curriculum to advance toward scientific literacy.This article presents a descriptive analysis of the Chilean educational policy documents, based on the review of the purposes, approaches, modules, and learning objectives of the Science for Citizenship subject. The findings show that the curriculum promotes the acquisition, use, critical analysis, creation, and communication of information that addresses science and technology.

The article analyzes the complex relationship between cultural selection of curriculum and the diverse nature of the societies in which it is inserted. From a qualitative approach, we analyze the teachers’ discourses of the Metropolitan Region about their representations on the political issues and the Politics and on the importance of curriculum and its possibilities for the attention to the diversity from the formation in citizenship. Results show the lack of problematization of diversity in this area. New contemporary phenomena such as valuing diversity require greater attention in the current processes of curriculum design for democratic coexistence.

En el presente trabajo se describe la estructura general que se utiliza para la evaluación geológica de PET, revisando los casos de estudio de las localidades de Villarrica y Pucón, asociadas al volcán Villarrica, y a las localidades de Curacautín, Melipeuco, Cunco y Cherquenco, asociadas al volcán Llaima. Adicionalmente, se describen las recomendaciones generales que se entregan a la comunidad y a los organismos de respuesta para la elaboración de los planes de emergencia, considerando el carácter técnico de estos productos.

The current state of liberal democracies turns the return to normative models of democracy and the analysis of its constituent concepts into an attractive phenomenon for political science. The wave of protests that began in Chile on October 18, 2019 has reactivated the state-market cleavage in the distribution of goods and services. Alongside this, it has rekindled the classic discussion, within political philosophy, between liberty and equality. If the social movement in Chile is equalitarian in character, a group of its opponents criticizes this ideal accusing it of being inmoral and authoritarian. Under their conception of liberty, equality necessarily implies a reduction of it. This research study focuses on the process of acquiring the indigenous Mapuce language for teaching purposes in order to contribute to current Mapuzugun Indigenous Language programs. Using a dialogic participatory methodology called Kishu Kimkelay Ta Che, we collaborated with teachers and members of the Mapuce community from a rural school in La Araucanía, Chile. Our findings reveal that echo-sonority plays a crucial role in preparing for the teaching of the indigenous language. This preparation involves the relationship between sound-action, onomatopoeia-toponymy, and nature-language. We argue that these results present a necessary challenge to improve indigenous language programs, which mostly operate under a Western logic, making intercultural articulation in schools challenging.

Como parte de los estudios que se han realizado acerca de la integración Chile y Perú, el presente trabajo quiere proponer la noción de una escuela como espacio público transfronterizo para pensar en cómo la educación puede ayudar al acercamiento entre niños chilenos y peruanos. No obstante, dicha noción no debe pensarse en abstracto, sino a partir de experiencias que ya se estén realizando. Al respecto, las experiencias entre tacneños y ariqueños resultan de particular interés.

This text explores different socio-historical and theoretical contents that shape the current experiences of women who live in the territories of what is known today as the north of Chile. The objective is to contribute to the theoretical approach in the analysis of social and gender inequalities in a context marked by mining extractivism and the vulnerability of its inhabitants. From a gender perspective, we analyze extractivism in the area and its consequences beyond environmental issues. The main conclusion is that the intersection of the issues addressed requires complex analyses where they can converge to strengthen the fusion of issues with a denouncing and innovative perspective.

En este trabajo analizamos el proceso de heroización del lingüista alemán Rodolfo Lenz (1863-1938) y su relación con la constitución del campo de los estudios del lenguaje en Chile. El material analizado corresponde a un conjunto de discursos biográficos datados entre 1920 y 1938. Como marco interpretativo, recurrimos al enfoque glotopolítico, a los estudios de historia cultural de la ciencia y a la sociología de los campos disciplinares. Proponemos entender este proceso como una operación colectiva que sirve para consolidar el campo de los estudios científicos del lenguaje en Chile, que venía emergiendo desde la última década del siglo xix y que, con la heroización de Lenz, consigue un centro o punto de referencia en torno al cual se establecen valores y posiciones, así como cobran sentido estrategias e intereses.

The Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), developed in the early 1960s, is still today the main model for estimating the performance required for a financial asset by a well-diversified investor. The estimation of its main variables, the return of the risk-free asset and, to a greater extent, the premium for the expected risk of the market portfolio, have been the subject of much controversy and debate, particularly when it comes to estimating them for emerging markets. This paper reviews the existing literature related to the estimation of the premium for expected risk, also known as risk premium, both in general terms, and as applied to emerging markets, in order to formulate and suggest an estimated value of such variable for the case of Chile.
