We show the results of the teaching-learning experience of the Math 'Level 0' course given to the freshers at UPC who do not pass the Math 'Level Exam'. The work was based on the feedback of the learning process and it was done at the same time that the university 'methodology of competencies' was being applied. The difference was based on the feedback given on each class based on evaluations that measured their cognitive and 'procedural knowledge'(part calculus and modelling of everyday situations). The comparison with the results obtained at the end of the week in general evaluations (common for each class) were positive, which encouraged us to keep up this learning process by common agreement. At the end of the course when comparisons between each class were made we saw that 70% passed the course due to applying this methodology. The in...

In this article, we present the results of an investigation and its purpose is to determine the influence of didactic suitability in the teaching and learning processes of mathematics in students of the advanced cycle of the Alternative Basic Education Center 1135 Santa Clara, Vitarte. The approach was mixed (quantitative-mixed: WHAT-which). The type was mixed simultaneously. The design was mixed integration, the specific design was concurrent triangulation (DITRIAC) (for the QUAN method: quasi-experimental and for the QUAL method: ethnographic case studies). The population constituted 350 students and the sample 80, distributed in 4 classrooms (control group: section A and experimental groups: sections B, C and D), the survey was used as a technique and as a pre and post test instrument. In the CUAN method. The descriptive results in the post test indicate that there is an average diffe...

Motivation is a methodological vehicle that must necessarily be implemented in the triad system called teaching-learning-university development. This, the motivation, cannot be reduced to some minutes at the beginning of the classes or to the development of a particular topic. Neither focuses on capturing the attention of students for a few minutes. The process of motivation is much more complex and starts from the conception of the course and then the design of the same. The motivation is not only directed at the cognition of the students. It has, rather, a high emotional component, as well as a great relationship with the role of the teacher, both within and outside the classroom. This is why the role of the teacher of these times should focus mainly on "induce and cause grounds in their students". That is to say, to motivate them.

Gamification from the use of platforms in virtual environments, has served for various studies with findings in structural learning. However, there is little evidence in the use of formal gamification platforms that include cognitive conflict from its pedagogical utility. The research has been carried out applying an experimental design with pretest and posttest measurements. We apply two types of cognitive conflict which we call Gamification Packages / Cognitive Packages. We used formal gamifiers (Mural.ly, Mentimeter, Google Jamboard, Kahoot!), applied in three experimental comparison groups of 150 students (M = 13,2 years; SD = 2,03). Reading, math, reasoning, and research science assignments were assessed. The findings reported greater effects in the group that received the Gamification Packages, secondly, the effects of Cognitive Packages,

This article describes the procedure for the implementation of a graphical user interface using the App Designer development environment of the Matlab software and its Toolbox Signal Processing and Symbolic Math, which allowed obtaining the Fourier Series coefficients for seven periodic signals followed by a graphical representation in the domain of time and frequency through pulses. Likewise, this  interface was implemented using various components such as Drop Down, Button, Knob, Axes, among others, which allowed the choice of the number of sinusoidal components used in the decomposition, as well as the choice of the type of signal, its amplitude, frequency, DC level and duration time of the same. Therefore, this implementation complements the teaching-learning process developed remotely for a topic in the Telecommunications I course of the 6th academic semester of the Electronic ...

Various changes taking Peruvian education poses challenges in finding alternative solutions to improve the quality of education of our students in the area of mathematics, which is why we introduced Geocar educational material through a project called "Implementation of Geocar in convex polygons learning in secondary education students "whose objective was to design the material, applying learning in convex polygons and then analyze and evaluate its application Geocar in the fourth grade students of secondary IEA La Primavera. Also, in order to deepen the analysis and interpretation of the results, we would like to test the following hypothesis: The application of geocar improves learning of convex polygons, and for this purpose the research design was quasi-experimental with the application a pre-test and post-test, using simple random probability sampling was chosen two working groups ...

Higher Education in Cuba is a particular transformational process; indeed, the development of knowledge in the society requires new demands in the universities. One of this demand is precisely the educational inclusion of young university students, for the achievement of the necessary professional skills in their performances. Particularly, those who have a diagnosis on stuttering and the ones who are studying pedagogical careers, need special attention by a language specialist (speech therapist) so that they can achieve their independence required by the exercise of the profession from a quality education. The speech therapy cabinet office is an excellent place to favor the educational inclusion of young university students with a diagnosis of stuttering, however, there is a limited level of knowledge by teachers, students and managers about the role they play in this regard. This artic...

The science courses are and will be the basis of the students' knowledge, in this sense the mathematics course is considered the most important course because in its content it presents topics related to calculus, making their learning of vital importance in the design of educational processes. Finance a review of the state of the art we find a series of works dedicated to being able to enhance the mechanisms used for teaching, from the use of scientific calculators to reaching certain computer programs of common use, in this work a methodology is developed to be able to enhance the programming skills that teachers have in a specific area of programming, where we can consider any programming language but also any computer tool such as Excel spreadsheets. The methodology proposes the organization of topics as specific theories, such as algebra, arithmetic, trigonometry, geometry, where sp...

The problem that has been detected in the Specialty of Mathematics and Physics at UNHEVAL is that students determine the domain and range of functions analytically with much difficulty; this is indeed a very worrisome problem since they will be teaching Math and Physics without enough skills at basic levels where students are in formation and discovering the foundations of Maths; which is likely to be one of the reasons of many deficien- cies in students at basic leves.Because of what has been said and to try to decrease the problem of learning domain and range of functions, in this research it is been proposed the application of the graphical method with the Geogebra software; hence the final report has been designed as follows: Chapter I includes everything related to the research question as: description of the problem, formulation of the research problem, objectives, hypothesis, justi...

This article presents the design of the Math Level 0 course aligned with the Educational Model of the UPC and developed under the structure proposed by 'MATE'. The phrase 'Less is more' that gives name to this article describes a philosophical concept which is applicable to the classroom where the teacher only intervenes when it is necessary. In this context, the student has the major role.  'Less is More' requires the student accessing knowledge with enthusiasm, which will occur if the student has a major role in the teachinglearning system. The teachers are one more resource in the classroom and while the knowledge that should be acquired is important, the learning process learnt by the student on their own is paramount. It is expected in 'Less is More' that the teacher favours the learning of the students in an environment of tolerance and respect and it is demanded from the teac...
