El presente trabajo realizó una comparación económica entre dos procesos de licuefacción de gas natural: el primero llamado Preenfriamiento con propano y refrigerante mixto (C3MR), el cual es el proceso más utilizado en el mundo por las plantas de licuefacción de gas natural de gran capacidad; y el segundo denominado proceso Cascada con fluidos mixtos (MFC), el cual es relativamente nuevo pero eficiente energéticamente. Ambos procesos fueron modelados en Aspen Hysys bajo las mismas condiciones de operación y luego optimizados en MATLAB usando el algoritmo genético. Las funciones-objetivo usadas en la optimización fueron: el costo de capital total (CAPEX), los costos operativos (OPEX) y el costo anual de la planta (TAC).

Peru has a fragmented health system, which limits access to its health services because the people seeking medical services can only be treated in specified health centers that are determined by their health insurance. Additionally, this causes each health provider to count and manage their processes and information in an isolated and independent manner. In the Peruvian case, this generates an overload in public health services, since, of the 83.3% of insured nationwide, 73.1% belong to the public sector. Mathematical modelling applied to batch milling (at experimental level), is a very important tool to simulate and predict the granulometric yield of a given treated ore; this means, for a given duration of milling operation, to obtain an estimate of the corresponding granulometric analysis, which can then be tested with real data later on, to verify the estimates. The model involves the selection and fracture functions depending on each mesh size in the ore distribution. This will allow the prediction of effective and reliable results, saving costs and more importantly, time, without the need to perform the milling process for each prediction of batch milling.

We present the simulation of the application of the Model-based Predictive Control (MPC) of the drum level in a Combined Cycle Plant in order to minimize the time for reaching the highest capacity of plant, around 225 MW. In contrast to others control techniques, our simulation yields that the MPC has shown capabilities as to reach its expected power in about 40 minutes before than PID, time which normally takes the whole industrial process under this control. In the present study, we have tested up to three different reference functions in order to compare performance during the drum level control. According to the simulations, the MPC working together with these reference functions is seen to be promising in the sense of providing efficiency to the plant from the startup until the time when system is reaching 225 MW. The purpose of this research work is to present the flow diagram, material balance, equation statement and development of mathematical models that will allow us to predict final results such as: grades, recoveries and concentration radius that a mineral will report when it is processed by industrial scale flotation with information obtained from a batch of tests at the laboratory level, a method that can be applied to a wide variety of minerals and can be evaluated technically and economically with a high level of confidence.

La importancia de implementar un adecuado proceso de gestión de la demanda y el inventario mejora la coordinación en los modelos de cadena de suministro. El propósito de esta investigación es analizar y proponer la aplicación de una técnica de pronóstico y la implementación de una política de revisión continua de inventario mediante el diseño de una simulación para una empresa del sector comercial veterinario. Actualmente, las empresas sin esta coordinación obtienen un nivel de inventario inadecuado generando pérdidas en las utilidades y un bajo nivel de demanda de servicio. They took as indicators to evaluate the acting of the system; the level of service that perform the center, the time of answer, so much in the reception as the despatch and the operative costs. With the simulation model they were executed a series of experiments; as the plant layout of the warehouse, modifications in the reception processes and shipping, obtaining this way a configuration that the yield of the system increases in study in approximately 40%.

This thesis will be oriented in the study of open quantum systems. The transition of processes that go between the Markovian and non-Markovian regime will be studied. The diagnose of non-Markovianity will be made in terms of the variation of the coherence of the state. Accordingly, an optical setup will be implemented that allows us to manipulate certain degrees of freedom, like the polarization and the optical path. Theoretically, we have found that the coherence of the system is transferred to the environment and it decreases as we move a parameter that we will take as time. This situation has been confirmed in the experiment. Then, due to the second part of the setup, which produces a non-Markovian evolution by also changing one of its parameters, we have accomplished the goal of returning the information back into the system and to measure the non-Markovianity of the process.

Esta tesis doctoral investiga un análisis y simulaciones de plasma frío generado por la técnica de Magnetron Sputtering. Se realiza un estudio diagnóstico del plasma en el laboratorio MatER PUCP utilizando una combinación de Método de Elementos Finitos (FEM), Función de Probabilidad de Energía Electrónica (EEPF), sonda de Langmuir y Espectroscopía de Emisión Óptica (OES). La investigación implica variaciones en la potencia de radiofrecuencia (RF) desde 20 W hasta 90 W, con cambios en la presión desde 6:00 103 mbar hasta 9:00 102 mbar. Notablemente, los datos muestran cambios en este rango de parámetros. Este trabajo explica los parámetros del plasma para cada técnica.
