The construction industry requires concrete with adequate post-cracking behavior for applications such as tunnels, bridges, and pavements. For this reason, polypropylene macrofibers are used, which are synthetic fibers that fulfill the function of providing residual strength to concrete. In this study, an experimental plan is carried out to evaluate the bending behavior of concrete reinforced with polypropylene fibers using the four-point bending test according to ASTM C1609. Three fiber dosages (3.6, 7.2 and 10.8 kg/m3) and three fiber lengths (40, 50, and 60 mm) were used. The use of macro polypropylene fibers increased the post-cracking behavior of concrete. El objetivo del presente estudio fue evaluar la relación de la fibra detergente neutro/ proteína cruda sobre la excreción urinaria de derivados de purinas (DP) en alpacas. El diseño experimental fue un Cuadrado Latino 3x3. Se utilizaron tres alpacas Huacaya machos de 2.5 años de edad, confinados en corrales individuales. El alimento fue suministrado una vez al día y con agua ad libitum. Se trabajó con tres tratamientos a base de heno de avena, donde las relaciones de fibra/proteína se obtuvieron de acuerdo a las proporciones de tallos y hojas. High-surface-area carbon-based capacitors exhibit significant advantages relative to conventional graphite-based systems, such as high power density, low weight, and mechanical flexibility. In this work, novel porous carbon-based electrodes were obtained from commercial cotton fibers (CFs) impregnated with graphene oxide (GO) at different dipping times. A subsequent thermal treatment under inert atmosphere conditions enables the synthesis of electrodes based on reduced GO (RGO) supported on carbon fibers. Those synthetized with 15 min and 30 min of dipping time displayed high specific capacitance given their optimal micro-/ mesoporosity ratio. This study aims to design and validate a nutritional recipe for a snack made of Green Banana (Musa paradisiaca) Peel Flour (GBPF) and to assess the nutritional composition and microbiological quality of the flour. Banana peel, a food industry by-product, is a nutritious, low-cost material available for all year. Two commercial varieties of Peruvian Pouteria lucuma fruits namely “Seda” and “Beltrán” were characterized in terms of their physicochemical properties as well as their primary and secondary metabolites content and profile. Free sugars, dietary fiber, and starch comprise the main components in both varieties. Phenolic compounds derived from flavanoids (flavan-3-ols), gallic acid, and their derivatives were identified. Xanthophylls were tentatively identified based on their UV-vis spectra and enclosed the majority of the carotenoids found in lucuma. Additionally, both varieties showed to be sources of lipophilic compounds such as tocopherols (?, ?, and ?) and triterpenoids. Peruvian fava beans (PFB) are used in traditional cuisine as a nutrient-rich, flavorful, and textural ingredient; however, little is known about their industrial properties. This study evaluated the physicochemical, nutritional, and techno-functional characteristics of PFB varieties: Verde, Quelcao, and Peruanita. PFB exhibited distinct physical characteristics, quality parameters, and morphology. The color patterns of the seed coat and the hardness were the main parameters for distinguishing them. Nutritionally, all three samples exhibited high protein (23.88–24.88 g/100 g), with high proportion of essential amino acids, high dietary fiber (21.74–25.28 g/ 100 g), and mineral content. This study proposes an alternative biodegradable material for use with lettuce crops utilizing the bare-root hydroponic system, with the aim of functionally replacing expanded polystyrene, commonly used as a supporting material despite being a highly contaminating substance. This proposal is based on the production of individual pieces of floating material made from agro-industrial waste with an organic wax waterproof coating. The materials were produced in Quito, Ecuador, and the variables analyzed were hardness, compressive strength, flexural strength and microbiological contamination of the material during the vegetable growing period. Results showed that the alternative substrate with the greatest adaptability to the crops was made from a carnauba wax-coated palm fiber (Elaeis guineensis) blended with rice, in a ratio of 70%-30%, respectively.

La presente investigación propone una alternativa de material biodegradable para uso en cultivos en medios hidropónicos de lechuga mediante el sistema de producción a raíz desnuda, con el objetivo de sustituir funcionalmente al poliestireno expandido, utilizado de manera habitual como material de soporte, a pesar de ser un elemento altamente contaminante. La propuesta tiene base en la elaboración de módulos individuales de material flotante a partir de desechos agroindustriales con un recubrimiento impermeabilizante de cera orgánica. The lacking of functional drinks of Amazonian fruits with health benefits was the reason for the elaboration of a functional drink based on Solanum sessiliflorum (cocona) with Stevia revaudiana (stevia) with the appropriate technological parameters and its respective file was proposed technique. Se elaboró producto alimenticio liofilizado utilizando mezcla de jugos de maracuyá (Passiflora edulis) y camu camu (Myrciaria dubia), frutas tropicales de la amazonia, que aportan componentes bioactivos importantes para el cuerpo humano. Se formularon mezclas de maracuyá/camu camu (v/v: 50/50; 70/30 y 90/10) usando encapsulante 0,2% CMC y 1,5% Goma arábiga, se formaron cubos de 1,5 cm de espesor congelados a -24°C/24 horas y secados en un liofilizador a 0,2 y 165 Pa durante 24 horas. Se determinaron las propiedades fisicoquímicas del jugo y en polvo liofilizado, como color, polifenoles totales y vitamina C. Abstract — In this project, a design for an automated mechanism is presented for implementation in textile manufacturing processes, where an integrated system for textile fiber recognition based on artificial intelligence (AI) was added. The mechanical design of the machine was studied in terms of force, providing a robust and efficient structure that supports the integration of sensors and cameras for real - time image capture of the processed fibers. Se evaluó el efecto de la concentración de una bebida funcional a base de pulpa de mango (20, 17.5, 15 y 12.5%) y gel de aloe vera (5, 7.5, 10 y 12.5%) sobre la acidez titulable, viscosidad, contenido de fenoles, fibra cruda y aceptabilidad general en una bebida funcional. La prueba de Levene demostró homogeneidad de varianza para cada variable paramétrica y el análisis de varianza indico un efecto significativo (p < 0.05) de las variables independientes sobre la acidez titulable, viscosidad, contenido de fenoles y fibra cruda.
