The control scheme performs two tasks: swingup and (local) stabilization. This paper involves a practical approach to perform quality-control/quality-assessment of concrete using vibration-based NDT. The first component is the analysis of compressive strength and dynamic E-modulus of concrete samples from various construction projects. The second component involves continuous measurements of E-Moduli as a function of curing time in laboratory-controlled specimens. The experimental program allowed proposing a correlation to predict the expected static and dynamic E-modulus at 28 days from their measurement at any instant of the curing process. A similar relationship is proposed to predict compressive strength at 28 days based on the dynamic E-modulus measured at earlier ages.

A novel design procedure for tuned mass dampers in isolated structures is presented. The proposed optimization method is specifically developed to control base displacements or to solve the large isolator displacement problem in this type of structures under earthquakes. Therefore, it is based on a displacement transmissibility function, T, a particular case of the general transmissibility concept, which comes from Vibration Isolation. Three contributions are: 1) application of new seismic displacement narrowbandness, 2) simpler relative transmissibility function, and 3) compound design of isolation plus tuned mass damper. We present the simulation of the application of the Model-based Predictive Control (MPC) of the drum level in a Combined Cycle Plant in order to minimize the time for reaching the highest capacity of plant, around 225 MW. In contrast to others control techniques, our simulation yields that the MPC has shown capabilities as to reach its expected power in about 40 minutes before than PID, time which normally takes the whole industrial process under this control. In the present study, we have tested up to three different reference functions in order to compare performance during the drum level control. According to the simulations, the MPC working together with these reference functions is seen to be promising in the sense of providing efficiency to the plant from the startup until the time when system is reaching 225 MW. We have also calculated a minor discrepancy of order of lees than 5%.

The present article discusses the constitutionality of the system for eliminating bureaucratic barriers implemented by the Comisión de Eliminación de Barreras Burocráticas (CEB) and the Sala de Eliminación de Barreras Burocráticas (SEL) of INDECOPI. It demonstrates that these entities do not engage in strict constitutional review but are limited to declaring the illegality or unreasonableness of bureaucratic barriers without repealing the underlying norms. Thus, they do not assume jurisdictional functions nor conduct a proper constitutional review of general administrative provisions and administrative acts. Instead, they ensure the legality and reasonableness of administrative regulation, coexisting with other forms of constitutional control such as the popular action and diffuse control.

Maintaining the stability of bipedal walking remains a major challenge in humanoid robotics, primarily due to the large number of hyperparameters involved and the need to adapt to dynamic environments and external disturbances. Traditional methods for determining these hyperparameters, such as heuristic approaches, are often time- consuming and potentially suboptimal. In this thesis, we present an integrated approach combining advanced control and reinforcement learning techniques to improve the stability of bipedal walking, particularly in the face of ground disturbances and speed variations. We report the application of the Model-based Predictive Control (MPC) to improve the performance of the start-up of a 150-175 MW combined cycle power plant whose gas turbine is fueled by natural gas. In concrete the simulations have shown that the efficient drum level control is reflected on the improvement of power efficiency in the sense of reaching the 225 MW set point in around 45 minutes faster than the case of PID. Experimental data taken from ordinary runs from power plant was used for ends of system identification which is based on convolution integrals resulting well adjustable to the acquired data. The present article demonstrates the historical bases previous to the success of alternative development in the region San Martín. It shows that anti-drug policy was unable to successfully function during the 1980s due to an absence of basic security conditions in the region. The ar- ticle’s main objective consists in presenting how the state managed to meet said security condi- tions. Thus, this article is divided into two periods of analysis. First, it focuses on the time period from 1980 to 1989 and shows how generalized state repression resulted counterproductive in the region because of strong subversive forces. The protozoan parasite Leishmania (Viannia) braziliensis (L. braziliensis) is the main cause of human tegumentary leishmaniasis in the New World, a disease affecting the skin and/or mucosal tissues. Despite its importance, the study of the unique biology of L. braziliensis through reverse genetics analyses has so far lagged behind in comparison with Old World Leishmania spp. In this study, we successfully applied a cloning-free, PCR-based CRISPR–Cas9 technology in L. braziliensis that was previously developed for Old World Leishmania major and New World L. mexicana species. The study proposed an inventory policy for its products with the highest demand based on the analysis of the application of three planning techniques, which were the Silver Meal method, the minimum unit cost method and the EOQ. In addition, forecasting techniques were applied with a bimonthly historical data from the sales record that helped identify the products with the highest demand according to the ABC classification. The methodology carried out in a grocery store in Peru found that the demand behavior differed in each product; so, the standard deviation was analyzed. Then, the application of the three planning techniques was compared where a similarity in the frequency of orders and quantity between the Silver Meal and MCU was observed; on the other hand, the EOQ functioned as a preliminary step to identify a reorder point.
