This research aimed to analyzewhether positive traits could explain optimal functioning, the combination of high well-being and performance, of active workers. The sample comprised 400 active Argentinean workers between the ages of 18 and 66 years old (MAGE=36.50, SD=11.81, 49.5% male, 50.5% female). Multiple lineal regressions revealed that positive traits increase the explained variance of the work variables (performance, satisfaction and well-being) in comparison to a prediction model that only included normal traits. Also, discriminant analysis revealed that of all traits, positive and normal, the only one that better discriminated the high/low optimal functioning groups was the positive trait sprightliness.

Objective: To ascertain that social and emotional deprivation of the mother is associated with fetal growth restriction, fetal death, preterm birth and congenital defects. Materials and Methods: We retrieved the maternal and perinatal outcome from the Informatic Perinatal System of all pregnancies with antenatal care whose delivery occurred between January 1, 1992 and December 31, 2001. Three groups of patients with social and emotional deprivation were included: 1) single women (n=1285), 2) teenage women with absent prenatal care (APC), (n=2131), and 3) primigravid with stature lower than 160 cm (n=35722). Determinar la efectividad de la técnica cuatro suturas comparada con la placa gancho en la luxación acromioclavicular en pacientes del Hospital Víctor Lazarte Echegaray del periodo 2014 - 2018. Material y métodos: Se llevó a cabo un estudio retrospectivo de cohortes en el que se incluyeron a 38 pacientes con luxación acromioclavicular, según criterios de selección los cuales se dividieron en 2 grupos: pacientes expuestos a técnica 4 suturas o técnica placa gancho; aplicándose el riesgo relativo, y la prueba estadística chi cuadrado. Objective: To determine if there are differences between persons with chronic diseases with no renal insufficiency compared to health persons in body structure, renal function and dietary habits. Methods: Volunteer participants compared by age (20-80 years); body mass index (BMI 20-25 kg/m2) and serum creatinine <1.1 mg/dl were included. This study examines the judicialization of reproductive rights in Peru and Chile, focusing on the influence of extralegal factors on judicial decisions related to the distribution of the Emergency Oral Contraceptive (EOC) during the periods 2006-2009 and 2007-2008, respectively. Through a comparative analysis, the study explores the impact of ideology, legal culture, and conservative social movements on judicial decision-making in both cases. The study concludes that these determinants, acting interdependently, function as causal mechanisms in judicial decision-making, explaining shifts in positions and arguments in both Chile and Peru. Additionally, the study highlights that the judicialization of emergency contraceptive methods has had both positive and negative impacts on women’s reproductive rights.

José Watanabe and Carlos López Degregori are two great Peruvian poets of the seventies of the last century. The article places the two authors in the field of Peruvian literary tradition. In Watanabe poetry, ontological metaphors predominate; on the contrary, in López's, the orientational metaphors prevail. The analysis is based on the ideas of George Lakoff and Mark Johnson to examine these metaphorical procedures and suggest that there is the functioning of the critical consciousness of the modern poet in Watanabe's work. In addition, the author studies the spatialization of the subject in López's poetry.

The role of the Judiciary (PJ) in administering justice in the country is pivotal, particularly through its jurisdictional bodies led by magistrates. These justice operators play a crucial role in adjudicating claims and assessing the admissibility of evidence presented by the parties. This study focuses on the issue stemming from the improper application of Article 240 of the Peruvian Civil Procedural Code by magistrates, specifically in the evaluation of claims that present expired judicial records as evidence. La salinización del suelo es un creciente problema ambiental que reduce el crecimiento y la capacidad fotosintética de las especies vegetales, siendo un factor determinante en la composición, distribución geográfica y diversidad de las comunidades de plantas, principalmente en ecosistemas áridos y semiáridos. In cassava the variation in stomata characteristics, such as density, polar diameter and functionality undergo changes due to the stomata frequency distributed in different regions of the leaf blade. This study aimed to determine the density, diameters and distribution of stomata in different regions of cassava leaf. We analyzed the apices, median and basal expanded leaves of IAC 576-70. The experimental design was completely randomized with three regions sampled twenty replications, each leaf region observed in five microscopic fields. RESUMEN Debido a la limitada cantidad de reservas de petróleo, es fundamental garantizar el uso eficiente de la energía disponible, lo cual está íntimamente ligado al diseño óptimo de los equipos eléctricos. Estos equipos (por funcionar con energía eléctrica) no pueden evitar tener fuentes discretas de generación de calor y su diseño depende de la determinación precisa del campo de temperaturas en todo el cuerpo.
