OBJECTIVE: The absence of an universal classification for hyperthyroidisms (HT), give rise to inadequate interpretation of series and trials, and prevents decision making. We offer a tentative classification based on gammagrafic and functional findings. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Clinical records from patients who underwent thyroidectomy in our Department since 1967 to 1997 were reviewed. Those with functional measurements of hyperthyroidism were considered. All were managed according to the same preestablished guidelines. RESULTS: HT was the surgical indication in 694 (27,1%) of the 2559 thyroidectomies. Based on gammagraphic studies, we classified HTs in: Parenchymatous Increased-Uptake, which could be Diffuse, Diffuse with Cold Nodules or Diffuse with at least one Nodule, and Nodular Increased-Uptake (Autonomous Functioning Thyroid Nodes [AFTN]), divided into Solitary AFTN or Toxic Adenoma...

Dyslexia is a disorder in the written use of language due to visuospatial weakness in the perception of linguistic forms. This paper postulates that a possible functional characterization of the deficits of a linguistic nature in patient speakers who present dyslexia when a full acquisition of reading and writing is not yet assumed will favor both the diagnosis and the intervention proposal. To demonstrate this hypothesis, we study the case of two twin patient-speakers who share the diagnosis of dyslexia, with the aim of checking the genetic-hereditary nature of the pathology and proposing specific therapies based on linguistic functional analysis. We thus present the theoretical framework that allows the historical knowledge and definitions offered on this disorder, the difficulties involved in its etiology, and the different models of intervention that currently exist to alleviate it. ...

For some time he has worried us the problem of Tropical eosinophilia and Loeffler's Syndrome, for this reason we decided to address the issue in its clinical, hematological and some biochemical blood aspect. The first step was to acquire the optimal technique as regards hematology the objective was achieved thanks to the occupation we play in a clinical laboratory. Then the serial and systematic study of all patients who came to our hands in the period of one year was made. The base of the research study consisted of 9 patients with Tropical Eosinophilia in that span. We present the clinical interpretation, haematological and biochemical findings in blood, performed serially.

When we refer to pain, we are faced with an unpleasant sensation that causes certain reactions in the human body that prevent its production, so it is of vital importance to understand what the symptomatology of pain is, how it is produced and how it can be avoided. production, there are cases where the pain becomes pathological where found in the patient's thoughts, therefore the present work tries to demonstrate that its production can be avoided in the face of intense painful situations that occur when working in the recovery of the mobility of the patient. articulation of the knee, which by its nature is painful, added to the fear of feeling pain on the part of the patient does not help the patient's recovery, the experimentation consists of taking the pain from the approach of not thinking about it and relaxing and evaluating it by an environment of cerebral analysis through the lev...

A esthetic and functional rehabilitation is considered the maximum objective of any dental treatment, with a sustained and updated scientific base, always seeking a complete and comprehensive diagnosis, focused on presenting a treatment plan according to comprehensive needs of the patient, executed in a conscious way with an established multidisciplinary approach, with foundations based on constant dialogue between the professional, the patient and the dental technician. The objective of this report is to describe step by step the clinical stages of a multidisciplinary treatment which is based on prior diagnosis and planning; looking for the interaction of different specialties: periodontics, oral rehabilitation, aesthetic dentistry, occlusion, and an integral work with the dental laboratory, to achieve the stability of periodontal and dental tissues. Thus recovering the masticatory fu...

In the implant rehabilitations supported in the previous sector, a surgical and prosthetic protocol should be carried out as a mechanism to ensure the aesthetics and function of the procedure to be performed. The objective of this clinical case is to present a rehabilitation protocol in a soft tissue test and management document to preserve aesthetics through provisional prosthetic structures, ending with rehabilitation with the zirconium oxide abutment with titanium base and a crown of lithium disilicate as means to achieve high aesthetics. The prediction of a unitary implant in the anterior sector requires the clinician to know three-dimensional structures conjugated with a soft tissue and material handling in an appropriate way, to predict the medium- or long-term behavior in the protection and prevention of aesthetics.

Hyman Minsky’s financial instability hypothesis provides a theoretical framework to understand the emergence of endogenous crises in modern economies and how capital flows amplify accumulated imbalances and exacerbate financial constraints in economic units. This inquiry operationalizes the Financial Instability Hypothesis within the Colombian non-listed manufacturing sector through the estimation of discrete-state dynamics and distributional sensitivities. The methodological design constructs two distinct fragility taxonomies to interrogate the determinants of the Hedge, Speculative, and Ponzi classifications. The first specification applies an open-economy cash-flow model derived from Castro (2011), which explicitly internalizes the valuation effects of nominal exchange rate fluctuations on debt service obligations. The second taxonomy, grounded in Nishi (2019), evaluates solvency th...

The present article discusses the constitutionality of the system for eliminating bureaucratic barriers implemented by the Comisión de Eliminación de Barreras Burocráticas (CEB) and the Sala de Eliminación de Barreras Burocráticas (SEL) of INDECOPI. It demonstrates that these entities do not engage in strict constitutional review but are limited to declaring the illegality or unreasonableness of bureaucratic barriers without repealing the underlying norms. Thus, they do not assume jurisdictional functions nor conduct a proper constitutional review of general administrative provisions and administrative acts. Instead, they ensure the legality and reasonableness of administrative regulation, coexisting with other forms of constitutional control such as the popular action and diffuse control.

The Savings and Credit Unions, UNICA, are a financial inclusion policy promoted by the Development Bank of Peru in partnership with other institutions since 2008. In the case of Cajamarca, Los Andes Association, a corporate body of Newmont Yanacocha, was the allied. The research measures the incidence of the UNICA on agricultural productivity at the provincial level, for this a database of 5 823 records from 2004 to 2023 was prepared at the level of agricultural units and a Kremer (1993) stochastic production function type with iterative fixed effects is estimated, where the incidence is established through three channels: 1) Access to credit increases productivity by 0,7951%, 2) an increase in the capital accumulation index of the UNICA at the provincial level of 1,00% generates increases in productivity of 0,1703% and 3) an increase in the ratio of beneficiaries to partners of 1,00% wi...

The study proposed an inventory policy for its products with the highest demand based on the analysis of the application of three planning techniques, which were the Silver Meal method, the minimum unit cost method and the EOQ. In addition, forecasting techniques were applied with a bimonthly historical data from the sales record that helped identify the products with the highest demand according to the ABC classification. The methodology carried out in a grocery store in Peru found that the demand behavior differed in each product; so, the standard deviation was analyzed. Then, the application of the three planning techniques was compared where a similarity in the frequency of orders and quantity between the Silver Meal and MCU was observed; on the other hand, the EOQ functioned as a preliminary step to identify a reorder point.

This study analyzes the electoral debate of 2016, specifically the confrontation between the candidates Fernando Olivera and Alan García. It was decided to work with this corpus, since a contrast is evident in the pragmalinguistic strategies used by both candidates; therefore, the main objective is to demonstrate each of these strategies. In the first part of the study, the content of the political discourse of both candidates is analyzed, for this the functional theory proposed by William Benoit (2007) is used. Based on this analysis, the second part describes the pragmalinguistic resources present in the speeches of each one of them. It is concluded that both candidates present differences in the content of their message: while Fernando Olivera’s speech has a denigrating propensity, Alan García has a propensity for silence. Likewise, the most widely used pragmalinguistic resources ...

Stroke is a major cause of death and disability, with most of its burden now affecting low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). People in rural areas of LMIC who have a stroke receive very little acute stroke care and local healthcare workers and family caregivers in these regions lack the necessary knowledge to assist them. Intriguingly, a recent rapid growth in cell-phone use and digital technology in rural areas has not yet been appropriately exploited for health care training and delivery purposes. What should be done in rural areas, at the community setting-level, where access to healthcare is limited remains a challenge. We review the evidence on improving post-stroke outcomes including lowering the risks of functional disability, stroke recurrence, and mortality, and propose some approaches, to target post-stroke care and rehabilitation, noting key challenges in designing suitable...

The loss of biodiversity and the effects of climate change hurt agricultural production and food security in Peru and around the world. The family farming sector in Peru (97% of agricultural units – AU) faces numerous challenges when it comes to sustainably producing food. To sustain Peruvian agriculture in the face of climate change, climate-smart agricultural (CSA) practices and agrobiodiversity conservation are essential. This document characterizes the level of agrobiodiversity (index IDA) of family AUs in the Crisnejas basin and analyzes the impact of the elements that affect farmers’ decisions to apply multiple CSA measures. CSA adoption decisions were analyzed using an econometric analysis framework combining multivariate and ordered probit models for 340 family AUs. Results indicate that AUs with a lower agrobiodiversity index (IDA) have a higher monthly income (IDA = 0.56, 3...

Collaboration in software development teams often requires effective activity management. Agile methodologies enable managing changes; however, fostering a culture of cross-functional collaboration within the organization and shared responsibility for security in development facilitates comprehensive communication. This provides stakeholders with better decision-making tools. The aim of this paper is to outline a methodology proposal for managing software development projects based on DevSecOps and Scrum. Subsequently, the methodology is tested in two case studies, and the results are presented, highlighting improvements in delivery times and software development quality. Finally, it discusses how integrating agile methodologies like DevSecOps and Scrum in software development project management provides a robust framework to adapt to changes and enhance the quality of the fin...

In the recent years, systemic or normative functionalism has been set up and spread out in the Peruvian Criminal Law scholar doctrine and case law, in a clear, precise and coherent manner providing solutions to concrete problems which were previously left behind to be answered by the naturalist, ontologist and teleologist scholar doctrines. Thus, by having an advanced functionalism approach, we explain the previous evolution and stand assumed by the great master of Bonn, Günther Jakobs, who sets out the functional relation between society and the criminal-juridical dogmatics, which must be re-based with a view to safeguard the social and state system through the maintenance of the criminal law stability to guarantee the citizen’s minimum expectations regarding proper functioning of social life.
