Background: Comprehensive mental health research is proposed as an important resource for individual well-being, as opposed to indicators of psychopathology. Objectives: We present an approach to the Bidimensional Model of Mental Health (BDSM) that considers psychological distress and subjective well-being as two separate but related dimensions. Methods: In a sample of 290 adults from the community, with 55.2% women and a mean age of 28.6 (Dt = 12.0). Results: The continuous results confirm a two-dimensional structure of psychopathology (PS) and subjective well-being (BS). Background: Emotion regulation involves the modulation of emotional experiences to facilitate goal attainment. Conversely, emotional difficulties are a pattern of emotional experiences and expressions that interfere with goal-directed behavior. Objectives: Our aim was to determine the relationship between emotional regulation difficulties with procrastination, life satisfaction, and resilience to distress. Methods: The sample consisted of 366 individuals from the general population, with a mean age of 33 years (SD=15) and 62.1% female. Results: Procrastination was positively related to the six emotional distress regulation strategies and negative affect (NA), and negatively related to positive affect (PA). En un ultisol de Pucallpa (Bosque Estacional Semi Siempre Verde), con pastizal de Brachiaria decumbens, se realizó un experimento para evaluar el efecto del laboreo, siembra y fertilización, en la introducción de Stylosanthes guianensis. La fase de campo se inició en febrero de 1991 y culminó en julio del mismo año. Los tratamientos fueron distribuidos en B.C.A, con arreglo en parcelas divididas, con tres repeticiones y unidades experimentales de 100 m2 cada uno. Los periodos de evaluación se realizaron cada 4, 12 y 20 semanas de la siembra. La presente investigación se planteó como objetivo principal determinar en qué medida la propuesta de un plan de mejora basado en el Outsourcing mejora la competitividad de la empresa Fernández Corp. Porphyrias are inherited metabolic disorders caused by enzymatic deficiencies of HEM group biosynthesis. Most common in childhood at the third and fourth decade of life. They are characterized by increased levels of porphyrins, and various cutaneous, neurological, and visceral manifestations. We describe a series of 3 cases of female patients in the third decade of life with abdominal pain and a wide range of clinical manifestations and short and long-term complications. Our review contributes to the early recognition of these diseases to establish early specific managements to impact on irreversible outcomes.

OBJECTIVE: The absence of an universal classification for hyperthyroidisms (HT), give rise to inadequate interpretation of series and trials, and prevents decision making. We offer a tentative classification based on gammagrafic and functional findings. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Clinical records from patients who underwent thyroidectomy in our Department since 1967 to 1997 were reviewed. Those with functional measurements of hyperthyroidism were considered. All were managed according to the same preestablished guidelines. RESULTS: HT was the surgical indication in 694 (27,1%) of the 2559 thyroidectomies. OBJETIVE: To determine the incidence of Marine-Lenhart syndrome (MLS) in the previously thyroidectomies reported and describe its epidemiology, symptoms, diagnosis methods and compare with Plummer syndrome (PS). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Medical records of 694 hyperthyroid patients were reviewed and ANOVA was perform to compare age of patients, time of disease and thyroid's weight between MLS (diffuse hyperthyroidism with at least 1 node with increased uptake and with or without cold nodes) and PS. RESULTS: The MLS was reported in 4,3% of hyperthyroidisins and 1,2% of the total. Patients age, time of disease and thyroids weight were significantly different between MLS and PS. OBJECTIVE: To compare the morbidity of total thyroidectomy (TT) and subtotal thyoidectomy (ST) in the management of hyperthyroidism. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A retrospective study of 350 cases of thyroidectomies performed at the Service B of Surgery at the Hospital Clínico Universitario Lozano Blesa, Zaragoza, Spain, from 1975 to 1996. Clinical diagnosis was always "hyperthyroidism". The main outcome measures were parathyroid morbidity (recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy, infections and hemorrhages), length of hospital stay, relapses and re-operations. RESULTS: Among 350 thyroidectomies done, 71 were TST and 279 were TT. Both techniques exhibited similar results, except for a higher incidence of recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy in the early postoperative period. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of the membranous form of platelet-rich fibrin associated with the coronally advanced flap in patients attended by consultation in periodontics at the Faculty of Stomatology of Villa Clara. Materials and methods: A longitudinal study was conducted at the Faculty of Stomatology, Villa Clara, Santa Clara, Cuba, from January 2016 to March 2017. Blood, skin and bone marrow samples were taken. Indirect immunofluorescence (IFI) tests for detection of anti-Leishmania infantum and immunochromatic test for the detection of anti-Trypanosoma cruzi antibodies in serum were performed. In addition, molecular analyses were performed using PCR to detect Leishmania spp in bone marrow and skin and T. cruzi in bone marrow. Histopathological analyses of the skin and cytology of the bone marrow were carried out in search of lesions and trypanosomatid agents.
