It is considered the mother's pelvis, as the most important factor of three (mother's pelvis, fetal presentation, uterine contractions), which govern the evolution of the phenomena of birth; hence the radiographic Pelvimetry constitute a clinical assistant value, but is not able to clarify all clinical questions, or tell us exactly the evolution of labor. The major pelvic diameters are studied: conjugated vera, transverse at the superior strait; bi-sciatic and posterior sagittal excavation and bi-sciatic on the lower narrow, being secondly other top narrow diameters used to determine the shape and position of the pelvis in the Caldwell-Moloy classification. In hundred pelvis studied, it has been found that the most frequent vera conjugate (34.5%) is between 11 and 11.5 cm. and bi-sciatic 10 to 10.5 cm. in 41.5%. In the superior strait, 13.5% of the pelvis had vera conjugate between 8.5 t...

For the study of the radiographic osteology of the Pipa pipe frog, six adult specimens apparently in good health and kept in captivity were used. The MinXray® HF 100 X-ray equipment was used to obtain the radiographic images, analyze the radiographic characteristics and determine the size (length and width) of the head, post-cranial skeleton, shoulder girdle, anterior and posterior limbs. These frogs present the pre-sacral vertebrae I and II fused, and the sacrum fused to the thin urostil. Pipa pipe scapular waist is pseudo-firmisternal. It was possible to identify the bones that make up this region, including the coracoides. The relation between the measures of the tibial-fibula length added to the length of the foot with the corporal length corresponded to 85%.

The application of the method to the study of radiographic vascular systems , by introducing radiopaque contrast substances within its light, has allowed a better understanding of anatomy , physiology, pathology and treatment. This at first was only targeting the venous and arterial systems ( 9) , in which surgical techniques boom reached through this process , aside perhaps lymphatic system due to technical difficulties for study. However, several attempts to try to visualize it, were made by subcutaneous or intraperitoneal introduction of contrast medium unsuccessfully temporarily abandoning this study. The first successes were obtained by Funaoka in 1930 who injected mercury and iodine salts within the lymphatic system ; was followed : Carvalho et al (1931 , 1934) , Toreff and Stoppani (1932 ) , Monville and Ané (1932 ) , Monke (1932 ) , Zolothrekin (1934 ) , Bennett and Shivas (1954...

Objective: This study aims to determine the frequency of mandibular asymmetries using digital panoramic radiographs that display complete teeth. Material and methods: A descriptive, observational, and retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted. The records of all digital panoramic radiographs from patients aged 18 to 59 years, taken at the Dental Image radiographic center during the period 2016-2020, were reviewed. Panoramic radiographs were evaluated for the presence of mandibular asymmetry using the Habets index. Digital radiographic tracing was employed to assess variables including ascending ramus height (C+R), mandibular ramus height (RH), and condylar height (CH). Symmetrical and asymmetrical radiographs were compared. Results: Out of the total sample of 1000 radiographs analyzed, the predominant age group was 34-41 years, constituting 301 radiographs (30.1%). Additionally, ...

In our institution there is a considerable amount of patients suffering skin carcinomas, for which, the treatment using small fields of high energy electronis a common option of treatment. The dosimetry using ionization chamber in small electron fields of high energy, according with the international protocols of dosimetry, requires of ionization chambers with special characteristics; equipment that our institution does not count; so it is necessary an alternative method to make these measurements. The linear behaviour of the electron films in energies greater than 250 keV; makes the film dosimetry one of the best options to make measurements in small electron fields of high energy; as much by its quality of results, information and low cost. The objective of this work is to provide to the Radiotherapy Department of the National Institute of Neoplasics Diseases a practical method, safe a...

We present a method based on a generative model for detection of anomalies such as prosthesis, implants, screws, zippers, and metals in Two-dimensional (2D) radiographs. The generative model is trained following an unsupervised fashion using clinical radiographs as well as simulated data, neither of them containing anomalies. Our approach employs a reconstruction loss and a latent space consistency loss which have the benefit of identifying similarities which are forced to reconstruct X-rays without anomalies. In order to detect images with anomalies, an anomaly score is also computed employing the reconstruction loss and the latent space consistency loss. Additionally, the Frechet distance is introduced as part of the reconstruction loss. These losses are computed between an input X-ray and the one reconstructed by the proposed generative model. Validation was performed using clinical p...
