La investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la efectividad del programa de odontología social (POS) en el conocimiento de salud bucal de profesores cuidadores y el estado de salud bucal de niños en tres colegios del distrito de Ventanilla durante el periodo marzo-mayo 2017. La investigación fue experimental. La muestra estuvo constituida por 46 profesores, 93 cuidadores y 93 niños en tres colegios del distrito Ventanilla. Los resultados existe diferencia entre la media del puntaje conocimiento antes y después de aplicar el POS, p<0.05. En el grupo experimental después del POS los profesores desarrollaron avances significativos en el conocimiento sobre salud bucal. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the social dentistry program (POS) and its relationship with the oral health knowledge of teachers, parents and caregivers in six schools in Lima and Huancayo. Material and Methods: The study was prospective, longitudinal and explanatory. Where knowledge of oral health, oral health status, age, sex and educational level were considered.
