The presence of multiple supernumerary teeth in the oral cavity is an infrequent alteration of dental development in patients who do not have an associated syndrome, that can induce various alterations such as malocclusions, delay in dental eruption, reabsorption of adjacent teeth, cyst formation, root dilacerations and giroversions. The objective of this clinical case is to report the presence of multiple supernumerary teeth, which caused the ectopic eruption and gyroversion of adjacent teeth, causing a crossbite in the oral cavity of a non-syndromic pediatric patient of the Centro Dental Docente Cayetano Heredia in 2019. The treatment performed was the simple extraction of the erupted supernumerary teeth and the complex extraction with flap of the retained ones.

Compound odontoma is a rare pathology and represents 1.3% of all odontogenic tumors. Its etiology is multifactorial and is attributed mainly to some theories. Also to trauma and genetic factors, etc. Treatment is the enucleation of the entity. The present case is of a 7-year-old male patient who attended the Teaching Dental Center of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Lima - Peru, presenting the absence of tooth 63 and a tumor in the anterosuperior area on the left side. Imaging examinations such as periapical and panoramic radiographs and Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) were performed; subsequently, the odontogenic tumor was enucleated and tooth 63 was extracted; the presumptive diagnosis was confirmed by the pathological anatomical examination as a compound odontoma. Knowledge of the normal characteristics of the oral cavity and the chronology of tooth eruption can lead to ...

Ankylosis is a dental anomaly of unknown etiology that causes bone bridges between the root cement and the alveolar bone that can lead to different dental problems. The objective of this case report is to present interceptive orthodontic treatment for a class I malocclusion in a 7-year-old boy. This treatment was proposed considering that the patient presented incomplete first phase mixed dentition and the clinical absence of teeth 55, 85, 16 and 46. Two ankylosed deciduous teeth were extracted and the occlusal face of the permanent teeth was operculectomy. The headgear was used in the maxilla and the labioactive plate or lip Bumper in the mandible, which made it possible to recover the space lost for the correct eruption of the permanent pieces. Early intervention through treatment allows partial correction of the malocclusion and prevents the problem from worsening.

Objective: Determine supernumerary teeth prevalence using digital panoramic radiographs in patients pediatric and adolescent treated at Dental Center of Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University between 2015- 2018 years. Materials and methods: The present study is descriptive, observational, retrospective and cross-sectional. Panoramic radiographs evaluation of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Service database from Dental Teaching Center of Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University was carried out, between 3 to 17 years, where supernumerary teeth (ST) presence was evaluated to find prevalence. Results: A total of 3,189 panoramic radiographs, 6.71% prevalence of DS was obtained. By gender, it was higher in men with 68.22%. The most frequent location was in anterosuperior sector (75.52%), rudimentary form (conical-tubercular) was 66.9%. As for the orientation, vertical position was the most frequent...

Objective: To evaluate of characteristics of dental transposition in digital panoramic radiographs of pediatric patients. Methods: A transversal, descriptive and retrospective study was carried out with 2386 digital panoramic radiographs of patients who are among 6 and 17, attended at Cayetano Heredia University dental center from 2015 to 2018. Results: The dental transposition frequency was 0.96%, of which 52.17% were female and the complete dental transpositions were 96.55%. According to the localization in the right-upper quadrant represents 51.72% and left-upper quadrant represents 48.28%. The premolar maxillary canines’ transpositions are most usual and represents 82.76%. Conclusions: The dental transposition frequency was low, the complete dental transposition was more common, and they were located on the upper maxilla with a predilection on the right side. The canine tooth and...

Objectives: To determine the frequency of odontomas through digital panoramic radiographs in pediatric pa-tients treated at the Dental Teaching Assistance Center of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia during the period 2015-2018.Material and methods: The present study is descriptive, cross-sectional, and retrospective with a total of 2707 digital panoramic radiographs of pediatric patients from 3 to 17 years old taken at the Dental Teaching Assistance Center of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia during the period 2015 - 2018. Results: A total of 34 odontomas (1.26%) were found, of which 53.60% (n = 20) were female and 46.40% (n = 14) were male, The most frequent condition according dental age was in the permanent dentition with 41.18%(n = 14). The compound odontoma was the most frequent entity with 52.94% (n = 18), and both entities were located in the anterior superior anatom...
