The study of sustainable construction materials is getting attention, since the materials must be ecological, recyclable and renewable to generate a positive impact on the environment as a substitute for the construction materials currently used in rural areas of Huancayo. The objective of this research is to determine a sustainable material with resistant mechanical properties, such as reinforced blocks with Agave americana L fiber. The block components were sand, clay and silt, in order to evaluate its behavior, 5 dosages of fiber were proposed: 0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% and 1%, these were expressed with respect to the total weight of the sample, on the other hand, the fiber used was cut to obtain a length of 25mm. Strengths were evaluated using the simple compression method, the Brazilian diametral compression tensile method and the modulus of rupture method. The result for the most opti...

Lemon exports are of great influence in Peru, since there is a great demand from countries such as the USA, Belgium and Holland. For this reason, the agricultural sector is one of the essential factors for the economic development of the country, since it generates S/29,553 million annually throughout the national territory. On the other hand, Peru offers two types of lemons, for example: the Tahitian lemon and the subtle lemon; however, due to its characteristics, the Tahitian lemon is the one that is sent as an export product worldwide. Currently, the selection process of this fruit is done manually, since there are not enough industrial optimizations in its process. Therefore, the present study aims to carry out the simulation of an automated grading system for Tahitian lemon based on computer vision. The selection parameters for the image processing were established as the levels of ...

An earthquake shooked the central-southern zone of Peru, on august 15, 2007. As coseismic effect a tsunami was generated, which flooded some villages and beach resorts. From analysis and signal processing of nine tidal records observed, we can get the parameters characterizing the initial coseismic deformation through an inversion process, in which the computed signal is compared with the observed signal by a non-negative least square process. The maximum slip is 7.0 m and is located on the southern part of rupture geometry. The calculated scalar seismic moment is M0 = 1.99 × 10<21> Nm, equivalent to a magnitude of 8.1 Mw. As a result, a heterogeneous seismic source model is obtained, which was the initial condition for simulating tsunami propagation and inundation.

On October 17, 1966 at 21:41 UTC, a big earthquake shooked the central region of Peru, causing 100 deaths. The maximum severity of shaking was reported in the Huacho city (VIII-IX MM). As coseismic effect a tsunami was generated, which flooded some villages and beach resorts, as Casma and Tortugas. From analysis and signal processing of three tidal records observed at stations of Chimbote, Callao and Marcona, we determined the parameters of the seismic source through an inversion process, in which the computed signal is compared with the observed signal by a non-negative least square process. The maximum slip is 4.7 m and is located in the Southern side of rupture geometry, which means that the maximum asperity or zone of greatest energy release is located under the Ocean in front of the Huacho city, this is consistent with the maximum intensity values reported. The scalar tsunami mome...

On February 27, 2010 an earthquake of magnitude 8.8 Mw (according to USGS) shook the center-southern region of Chile with a balance of more than 500 deaths. As a coseismic effect, a tsunami was generated which destroyed many coastal villages, as well as the permanent crustal deformation. This coseismic deformation can be quantified by geodetic measurements: GPS, field observations at the littoral and InSAR satellite interferometry data. From the analysis and processing of the geodetic data it is possible to obtain the parameters that characterize the distribution of the seismic source through an inversion process, in which the simulated data is compared with the observed data using the non-negative least squares method. The results show the existence of two main asperities located to the north and south of the epicenter. The maximum slip or dislocation was 17.3 m located in the northern ...
