Diplomatic or political asylum is a relevant institution within the universalsystem of protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms. Although it is basicallyregulated in Latin America, there is also some practice in the rest of the world, even if inprinciple it is not granted legal recognition. In this sense, diplomatic asylum is acontribution made by Latin America, within the framework of International AmericanLaw, to International Human Rights and to International Law in general. Althoughdiplomatic asylum is granted on the grounds of political persecution, in the case of AlanGarcia, Uruguay has denied this asylum as there were no political crimes. The purposeof this article will be to introduce some basic concepts about diplomatic asylum and thecase of Alan Garcia, where it was denied asylum because it was an investigation forcommon crimes.

This study analyzes the electoral debate of 2016, specifically the confrontation between the candidates Fernando Olivera and Alan García. It was decided to work with this corpus, since a contrast is evident in the pragmalinguistic strategies used by both candidates; therefore, the main objective is to demonstrate each of these strategies. In the first part of the study, the content of the political discourse of both candidates is analyzed, for this the functional theory proposed by William Benoit (2007) is used. Based on this analysis, the second part describes the pragmalinguistic resources present in the speeches of each one of them. It is concluded that both candidates present differences in the content of their message: while Fernando Olivera’s speech has a denigrating propensity, Alan García has a propensity for silence. This article analizes the first two years of Alan García's government -which correspond to the characteristics of an heterodox regime- on the light of a proposed model, based on the determination of aggregate demand and supply, and concentrated in the functioning of relative prices. It can be stated that economic success in the short term was followed by the appearance of inflationary pressures and the aggravation of unbalances in different sectors of the economy, as well as in relative prices. As a result, the economic program derived into a severe crisis by mid-1987.

Following almost three decades of political instability, economic uncertainty, and activist diplomacy, President Alberto Fujimori in the early 1990s returned a degree of economic and political stability to Peru. To restore the international standing of Peru, he also reoriented Peruvian foreign policy, modifying its direction, content, and tone. In the new millennium, successive Peruvian governments, from Alejandro Toledo to Ollanta Humala, have built on the initiatives introduced by Fujimori with a focus on traditional concerns, including sovereignty, territorial integrity, economic independence, regionalism, and continental solidarity. Notable for both continuity and coherence, Peruvian foreign policy after 2000 also evidenced a degree of pragmatism when an increasingly complex world called for new solutions to old problems.

Alan García Pérez asume el cargo de presidente del Perú en 1985, a mediados de una década económicamente difícil para el país. Es en este contexto en el que el expresidente del Perú da un discurso en la 40ᵃ Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas. En este trabajo se busca determinar si el discurso elegido cumple con las características del discurso populista. A lo largo del análisis de este discurso podremos ver cuáles son las tendencias en el uso de las ocho características seleccionadas. Además de ver la incidencia de las características, también se buscará brindar una serie de recomendaciones para intérpretes de conferencia que se enfrenten a este tipo de discursos.

El presente estudio realiza un análisis crítico del discurso político inaugural del ex-Presidente peruano Alan García Pérez en el marco de la V Cumbre de Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno de América Latina, el Caribe y la Unión Europea (ALC-UE), llevada a cabo en Lima el 2008, desde la perspectiva de la colonialidad del poder. Se exploran los conceptos de eurocentrismo, modernidad, raza y trabajo, los cuales reproducen la episteme occidental, que invisibiliza y/o subalternizan las «otras» culturas y los «otros» saberes, es decir aquellas formas de existencia social que se encuentran dominadas.

La presente es una investigación de carácter cualitativo que se centra en el análisis del discurso periodístico en cuatro plataformas digitales peruanas. Se investigó la forma en que se construyó el mensaje noticioso en el caso del fallecimiento del expresidente Alan García el 17 de abril del 2019. El presente estudio de pavimentación, se encuentra ubica en el asentamiento humano Alan García Pérez, perteneciente al distrito de Olmos, del departamento de Lambayeque, el objetivo principal del trabajo de investigación es realizar y evaluar la mejor alternativa para el diseño estructural del pavimento.
