Being one of the restoration options the use of the acetate crown technique, this was chosen due to the aesthetic results it offers and its few clinical steps. Thus fulfilling our objective of maintaining the integrity of the pieces and keeping them in their space, through the use of resin crowns made under this technique. The methodology used was the clinical case report in a male patient aged 2 years 09 months with a diagnosis of dental caries, where resin crowns were performed using the acetate crown technique. For the clinical evaluation at 12 months, the evaluation criteria for direct and indirect restorations according to the World Dental Federation were used. They did not present fracture and caries recurrence. Crowns made with this technique were well accepted due to their imperceptible results, low cost and shorter clinical time. Therefore, the use of this technique would ...

One of the main advantages of using a continuous rotary system in pulpectomies is the reduction in instrumentation time. This case presents a 3-year and 11-month-old girl who, upon intraoral clinical examination, exhibited a deep and extensive carious lesion with pulpal involvement in tooth 85. Radiographically, an occlusal radiolucent image was observed, clearly indicating pulpal involvement, consistent with pulpal necrosis and chronic apical periodontitis. A pulpectomy was performed using the NiTi Race® Evo #25/06 rotary system at 500 rpm and with a torque of 2.1 Ncm. In the clinical examination, the surrounding gingival tissues were in good condition. Radiographically, there was no evidence of root resorption or signs of infection, and bone regeneration was observed at the furcation level. The rotary system proved to be effective in both shaping and filling the canals, reducing the t...

The pediatric dentist may encounter the fracture of an endodontic instrument during pulp treatment. In such cases, removal of the object is necessary, as it may lead to abscess formation, root resorption, and tooth mobility, which could ultimately affect the permanent tooth. The technique used to remove the instrument will depend on its location. This case presents a 4-year and 11-month-old girl who, upon clinical examination, reported pain on vertical percussion. The radiographic evaluation revealed the presence of a radiopaque image in the mesiobuccal root of tooth 54, consistent with the fracture of an endodontic instrument. This fragment, approximately 7 mm in length, extends from the cervical third to the apical region. The final diagnosis was symptomatic apical periodontitis in tooth 54, associated with a previous root canal treatment and a fractured instrument in the mesiobuccal c...

Riga-Fede disease is a rare, benign disorder characterized by a reactive ulceration of the oral mucosa, which arises from repetitive traumatic injuries. The constant trauma can cause an ulceration large enough or annoying enough to interfere with proper suction and feeding, which would cause a risk of nutritional deficiencies, dehydration and infections. We have as diagnostic aid, the intraoral radiography, which in infants is taken with the Mannkopf technique. With respect to the treatment of this lesion there is varied information in the literature and it has changed over the years, there are conservative treatments as radicals. We present the clinical case of 7-month-old male infant, who presents with an ulcer on the ventral side of the tongue, with defined edges, approximately 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm in diameter, colored reddish with whitish areas, painful on palpation, with fever and eating...
