Placental chorioangioma is a non-trophoblastic benign tumor of rare presentation. It may be associated with complications of pregnancy when larger than 4 cm. We present the case of a pregnant adolescent with 25 weeks of gestation referred for prenatal management of a giant placental chorangioma that complicated pregnancy with hydramnios and severe fetal anemia. Fetoscopic laser ablation of the main nutrient vessel of the tumor was performed for the first time in Peru, which reversed complications and improved fetal prognosis.

Objective. To determine the association between the full moon and the incidence of vaginal preterm deliveries among women with vaginal delivery in a tertiary care hospital in Lima, Peru. Methods. An analytical cross-sectional study was carried out on a secondary data of the Certificate of Live Birth (CNV) of Peru. All newborns from the National Maternal Perinatal Institute were studied between the years 2013 and 2021. The duration of the full moon phase was determined through the programming language with Python 3.6 and the analysis of the incidence of prematurity with the STATA v15 statistical package. Fetal ascites is defined as the presence of intraperitoneal fluid that may be part of a generalized or isolated hydrops. The mortality of non-immune ascites, both fetal and neonatal, is approximately 60%. We present a case of fetal ascites not associated with hydrops and we review the pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnostic approach and treatment of this fetal and neonatal condition.

We report a series of three cases with prenatal diagnosis of congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation of the lung, macrocystic type, treated in utero with thoraco-amniotic shunting. This highly specialized intervention is feasible in our local setting. The three cases survived. A mini-review of this condition is presented and an algorithm of prenatal management is proposed.
