The existence of several causes of antisocial behavior during adolescence seems to respond, not only to the combination of many risk factors within different levels of human development, but also to cultural and historical processes affecting, in many ways, several generations since their early childhood. This paper revises the main explicative theories about antisocial behavior during adolescence and highlights the theory of the Neuropsychological Taxonomy of the Antisocial Behavior proposed by Terrie E. Moffitt (1993, 1994, 1996, 2003). Moreover, some studies are mentioned due to the fact that they confirm the cross-cultural validity of Moffitt’s theorical model and its  contributions to the design of prevention programs against delinquency for youngsters and adolescents in our context.

In this article, the author reports the attitudes of Psychology students towards their professional formation. A Likert scale was administered to 13 7 students of Psychology and of General Studies at the Catholic University of Perú. An ANOVA was used to analyze the data. The results indicate that when students are finishing their formation, the attitude towards their professional studies is lower. Among the variables that explain the greater variance are the currículum, the first two years of studies and the professors.

This research is aimed to determine the socio-psychological correlates of Social Insertion in adolescents who has finished secondary education. The research model considers predictor, mediator and criterion (Social Insertion) variables assessed in a correlational and longitudinal study. The results show changes in the Social Insertion level according to the socio-economic level. In terms of School Culture it has been found that adolescents perceive that their schools orient them to Social Insertion under the following hierarchy: first, to pursue university education; second, to follow technical studies; third, to find employment and fourth, to form a family. Another finding is the existence of a positive association between the Social Insertion levels and Parents’ expectations. Further results indicate that the Future Time Perspective is different as a function of the socio-economic le...

Background: The sense of capability scale, originally validated in French university students (Drouin & Costalat-Founeau, 2020), measures people’s subjective representation of their own capacities and theirperceptions of what others think about them. The aim of this study is to adapt the scale for university students in Lima, Peru and to analyze its psychometric properties. Method: 516 students from a private university completed the questionnaire. Factor analysis and correlations were used to determine evidence of validity. Cronbach’s alpha and McDonald’s omega were used to evaluate reliability. Results: Contrary to the original 2-factor structure, our results suggested a single-factor solution that explained 52% of the variance; the items had high loadings. The model was confirmed by a best fit (χ2 = 362.84; df = 35; p < .001; CFI = .99; TLI = .98; SRMR = .06; RMSEA = .10...

In this study, we analyze if the values profiles between institutionalized youngsters (juvenile offenders) and regular school students are distant. A sample of 887 adolescents and youngsters (678 males and 209 females) were assessed. 539 participants were school students from private and public schools and 348 were institutionalized adolescents. The values variable was measured by the Portrait Values Questionnaire (PVQ), created by Schwartz, Melech, Lehmann, Burgess, Harris, & Queens (2001). Results show that both groups had very similar values. The correlation among them was high and positive (r(887) = .84, p < .01). It is concluded that probably values are not the main difference for these two groups. Then, for future preventive interventions, other socio-psychological variables could be prioritized.
