In recent years, interest in the elimination of “wrinkles” has motivated the cosmetic industry to carry out research based on medicinal plants that contain antioxidant, anticolagenase and antielastase properties. Croton lechleri “blood of degree” is a plant that is known for its healing property; However, this activity may give you the anti-collagenase property, which you can evaluate by several methods. The objective of this work is to evaluate the anti-collagenase activity of Croton lechleri latex “blood grade”. To carry out this evaluation, the Thing methodology was used, which is carried out, comparing the activity (absosbances) generated by the epigallocatechin pattern with the Croton lechleri latex samples at the following concentrations: 125, 250, 500 and 1000ug / mL at the end of this method, it was found that Croton lechleri latex showed anti-collagenase activity of ...

The present study had as objetives to identify the presence of phenolic compounds, as well as to evaluate and compare the in vitro antioxidant activity of the ethereal, dichloromethane and ethanolic extracts obtained from the algae Polysiphonia paniculata Montagne, using the DPPH method (1,1-diphenyl-β -picrilhydrazyl), radical scavening method. Several species of the genus Polysiphonia, from the family Rhodomelaceae, have been reported to present bromophenolic compounds with antioxidant activity. Phytochemical screening results revealed the presence of phenolic compounds according to the thin layer chromatographic profile and the IR spectrum in ethereal (very slightly) and dichloromethane extracts. The results of the DPPH method revealed that the dichloromethane extract had higher antioxidant activity compared to ethereal and ethanolic extracts. The following percentages of antioxidant...

To give scientific support to the traditional use of plants, was studied the aqueous extract of dried leaves of Annona muricata L. "Soursop", specie collected in the highlands jungle of Cuzco, which was classified taxonomically in the Natural History Museum of the UNMSM; Annona muricata L. revealed the presence of flavonoids and other metabolites. The aqueous extract was classified as non-toxic according to the method of dose limits for the determination of acute toxicity, result supported with the macroscopic study of organs made at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine UNMSM. By employing the method of plantar edema induced by λ-carrageenan mouse model, the aqueous extract of Annona muricata L., at concentration of 1,5mg/kg, had significant anti-inflammatory efficacy compared to indomethacin. The statistical analysis was carried out by ANOVA at 95% confidence.

The present study was conducted to evaluate the hypoglycemic effect of Smallanthus sonchifolius (yacon) leaves, in the form of infusion (aqueous extract) administered to patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. After signing informed consent, were included 206 people aged 30 to 70 years old, male and female: 105 diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus and 101 apparently healthy control group. Type 2 diabetic patients were people who go to Scholar Healthcare of Clinical Analysis (SAAAC), Office of Pharmaceutical Care (GAF) of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, Club of type 2 diabetic patients of Cayetano Heredia Hospital and Patrucco Raul Puig Health Center (CERIT). From type 2 diabetic patients receiving drug treatment, there were 46 metabolically controlled patients and 59 not metabolically controlled ones. The latter group was given filter bags of yacon leaves of 1 g each, to be ...
