In this research, the influence of the stiffness irregularity and the p-delta effect on the structural behavior of a reinforced concrete building is analyzed. The main objective is to determine the impact of the stiffness irregularity and the p-delta effect on the structural behavior in regular and irregular buildings. First, the linear dynamic analysis procedure is performed in order to determine the structural response in terms of drifts, shear force and moments per floor. Subsequently, we proceed with the nonlinear static analysis procedure to obtain the capacity curve of the structure. The post elastic stiffness and the overall ductility of the structure are determined from the capacity curve. Finally, a comparative analysis of the responses from the linear and nonlinear analysis is carried out to determine the percentage variation of the results. When analyzing the structures that c...

In a globalized and competitive world, the need for the Higher Education Institutions to have a competitive advantage and exceed the expectations of the learners becomes more and more imperative, although the fundamental part of the Institutions is also true in addition to capturing enrollment is to retain it. and to retain it, and to achieve the above, it requires student satisfaction, so the objective of this research was to propose educational marketing as a strategy for student satisfaction at the Polytechnic University of Francisco I, Madero (UPFIN). The study has a quantitative approach of a descriptive type, it was applied to a sample of 361 UPFIN students and some results were that in order to achieve student satisfaction, variables such as: teaching videos, digital library service, linkage with microenterprises, extra classes for those who fail, overtime teaching second language...

The virtual public space tends to be articulated as an extension of the contemporary public sphere. However, this is a process that is not being developed horizontally at a global level, there are countries that, like Peru, are identified by the predominant mediation of traditional media, as a consequence of the digital divide, according to which approximately half of the population is still not connected. This study presents the results of a survey of 720 university students in Peru, and our interest lies in describing aspects such as the relationship between trust and consumption of digital media in this country; the main characteristics required of an informative website; the most used interaction mechanisms; and, ultimately, how a group so relevant to Peruvian democracy, such as young university students, tends to channel their participation and experience online.

In order to investigate the underlying genetic structure and genomic ancestry proportions of Peruvian subpopulations, we analyzed 551 human samples of 25 localities from the Andean, Amazonian, and Coastal regions of Peru with a set of 40 ancestry informative insertion–deletion polymorphisms. Using genotypes of reference populations from different continents for comparison, our analysis indicated that populations from all 25 Peruvian locations had predominantly Amerindian genetic ancestry. Among populations from the Titicaca Lake islands of Taquile, Amantani, Anapia, and Uros, and the Yanque locality from the southern Peruvian Andes, there was no significant proportion of non-autochthonous genomes, indicating that their genetic background is effectively derived from the first settlers of South America. However, the Andean populations from San Marcos, Cajamarca, Characato and Chogo, and ...

Peruvian glaciers are important contributors to dry season runoff for agriculture and hydropower, but they are at risk of disappearing due to climate change. We applied a physically based, energy balance melt model at five on-glacier sites within the Peruvian Cordilleras Blanca and Vilcanota. Net shortwave radiation dominates the energy balance, and despite this flux being higher in the dry season, melt rates are lower due to losses from net longwave radiation and the latent heat flux. The sensible heat flux is a relatively small contributor to melt energy. At three of the sites the wet season snowpack was discontinuous, forming and melting within a daily to weekly timescale, and resulting in highly variable melt rates closely related to precipitation dynamics. Cold air temperatures due to a strong La Niña year at Shallap Glacier (Cordillera Blanca) resulted in a continuous wet season s...

This document includes the experience in the design, development and validation of a mobile application conceptualized as an instrument for basic teaching and self-learning of the Shipibo - Konibo language. It was created to be used in Bilingual Educative Institutions of preschool level, located in the Peruvian native communities. This App is intended to support the different education gaps in Shipibo-Konibo communities. The App name is BAKE that means child in Shipibo-Konibo language. It works offline and it has been developed for mobile devices with android operative system, considering they would be used in the remote Shipibo-Konibo communities. As part of the validation processes, a comparison test between the use of the application and the use of traditional education in Cantagallo community in Lima (the only Shipibo-Konibo community in Lima) has been developed. The results have been ...
