The objective of the study was to evaluate the therapeutic effectiveness of thefenbendazole-praziquantel combination against nematode and cestode parasitismin dogs. A single dose of 100 mg of fenbendazole and 5 mg of praziquantel perkilogram of body weight was orally administered. Ten female/male 12-14 weeks oldpupies were naturally infected with Toxocara canis and Dipylidium caninum, anddivided in a control and treated groups. Adult forms of the parasites were searchedin the necropsy at day 4 after treatment. The effectiveness was 92.5 and 100%against T. canis and D. caninum, respectively, and without side effects in treatedanimals. The results showed that the fenbendazole-praziquantel combination at thespecified dose was highly effective against these parasites.

Este trabajo tiene el propósito de describir las recomendaciones más recientes para el cálculo de las distribuciones de dosis alrededor de fuentes de braquiterapia de alta tasa. En nuestro país existe un único modelo de fuente para braquiterapia HDR; éste es tomado como ejemplo. En este trabajo se trata de priorizar el punto de vista práctico

El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar la efectividad terapéutica en dosis única, de la combinación fenbendazol-praziquantel contra nemátodes y céstodes en perros. Se emplearon 10 cachorros machos y hembras, de 12 a 14 semanas de edad, infectados naturalmente con Toxocara canis y Dipylidium caninum, divididos en dos grupos: control no tratado y tratado. Los fármacos se administraron por via oral en cantidades de 100 mg de fenbendazol y 5 mg de praziquantel por kilogramo de peso vivo. En la necropsia realizada al 4º día post tratamiento se encontró una efectividad del 92.5 y 100% contra T. canis y D. caninum, respectivamente, y sin efectos secundarios para el animal. Este resultado demuestra que la combinación fenbendazolpraziquantel a la dosis descrita, es altamente efectiva contra los parásitos en mención y segura para el animal tratado.

Este ensayo explora, a partir de una de las imágenes más veneradas de la tradiciónlimeña, Santa Rosa de Lima, los imaginarios en construcción de una identidad social y mestiza local, desde la revisión histórica de su origen en el siglo XVII hasta la reflexión de sus prácticas litúrgicas dentro del contexto contemporáneo. De esta manera su imagen identifica las variables de un discurso de poder que modela a través de la práctica artística y performativa, la cultura de un mito bajo el signo del arte y la pasión.

La detección de rostros es una de las tareas esenciales ampliamente estudiadas en el campo de la Visión por Computador. Varios autores han desarrollado diferentes técnicas para mejorar la detección de rostros en imágenes, pero estas se ven limitadas en su aplicación en videos y más si presentan baja resolución. En este estudio, proponemos un nuevo modelo para la detección de rostros en videos de baja resolución basado en la morfología de la parte superior del cuerpo de las personas y el uso de Deep Learning (CNN). Nuestros resultados muestran un promedio de 39 % de precisión en el conjunto de datos de Caviar y 32 % en el conjunto de datos de UCSP. En comparación con otras técnicas, nuestros resultados son mayores debido a que solo alcanzan el 1% de precisión.

The volumetrlc oxygen transfer coefficient, kLa, has been determined experimentally in a batch operating bioreactor at 30ºC. It was found that it is dlrectly proportional to the degree of aereation and the agitation, whlie it is inversely proportional to the viscosity. This behavior is in accord with other correlations found in the literature [3, 7]. The gas eliminatlon method may be applied to systems with or without presence of microorganisms. As a result the only required data are the concentrations of dissolved oxygen as a function of time.

An integrated approach to the design and analisis of heat exchanger networrks (HEN) Is outlined. A case study is used, carminic acid,, to illustrate this integrated approach, to emphasize the economy of 60% energy with respect to convectional process.

The drying operation is identified as the rate limiting step of the process identifying it as an OPB plant capacity. The extraction yield was 95% w / p carminic acid with an energy savings of approximately 60% of the conventional requirement.

Se esbozó un análisis de integración de energía por aproximación para el diseño y análisis de una red de transferencia de calor (HEN). Se utilizó un caso estudio, ácido carmínico, para ilustrar esta vía de integración por aproximación y resaltar el ahorro del 60% de consumo de energía con respecto al proceso convencional.

This paper proposes a numerical finite-element-based model aimed at optimizing narrow-vein stope stability. This model combines empirical and numerical methods to develop a sequence, which may determine an acceptable stope safety factor. A stope stability analysis was conducted through the Mathews stability graph method, which requires two factors: the hydraulic radius (HR) and stability number (N'). The Mathews stability graph method is used to assess the stability of an underground design. Variations in stope dimensions are estimated by changing the HR and Factor A within the N', which is determined through numerical methods. The results of the numerical simulation indicate that the HR increases with an increase in stope dimensions, while Factor A maintains an inverse relationship with the maximum stress induced on the excavation walls. Es un estudio prospectivo multiinstitucional que conlleva, a su vez, tres subestudios y luego se hace el metaanálisis de estos estudios piloto en pacientes con cáncer de mama localmente avanzado que reciben quimioterapia preoperatoria con antraciclinas en densidad de dosis seguido de tres esquemas diferentes, teniendo como objetivo llegar a la respuesta patológica completa (pCR). Material y métodos. Participaron 150 pacientes, 28 pacientes en el primer grupo (4AC+4AT), 57 pacientes en el segundo grupo (4AC+4CptT) y 65 pacientes en el tercer grupo (4AC+12TXe), todos de inicio cánceres inoperables no metastásicos.
