Games are a natural and spontaneous function that is essential for the normal development of the child. Because of their affective and creative value, they can be used in the rehabilitation of some specific learning difficulties. Not in vain, and in spite of the numerous changes that the society has been suffering, games have prevailed as they respond to the basic needs of the human being. It is practice itself that shows us that, both in the clinical and teaching aspects, enjoyment or the lack of it play a key role in learning. Child motivation to learn is, undoubtedly, fundamental. Because, in order to learn, the presence of desire is necessary

Learning basic operations requires the integration of didactics and pedagogy as key elements in building mathematical concepts. Therefore, the objective of this article was to strengthen students’ understanding of multiplication through the design of a teaching sequence based on the Singapore Method. Considering the needs of third-grade students at Alejandro Humboldt School, a qualitative approach was adopted, complemented by descriptive analysis. A diagnostic test and a teaching sequence were designed and implemented with the participation of 20 third-grade students from the institution. The results showed that students exhibited demotivation and a lack of interest in activities involving multiplication. In addition, the results obtained from the diagnostic test and the support provided by the Milton Ochoa test highlighted the importance of strengthening their understanding. Thus, aft...

This paper is part of a qualitative research study that took place in five public schools of Lima between 2005 and 2007. The goal was to identify teachers’ conceptions about teaching and learning in order to understand their pedagogic practice. The sample included 9 sixth grade teachers of primary schools. Results show that traditional pedagogic conceptions are strongly rooted and this is reflected in the pedagogic practice of all teachers. Mathematics teaching is characterized by the following of rules and procedures, the routine practice of exercises, the use of key words and the lack of a significant context for learning.

Education is one of the largest markets promoting implementation of Bring Your Own Device BYOD. The BYOD model was originated in colleges and universities, being stimulated by technologically advanced students, who demanded it, and administrators of educational entities, who agreed that allowance to get access to the network using personal devices was a competitive advantage. Nowadays this concept attracts great attention. People depend on their personal devices and want to have the opportunity to use them anywhere in order to make their life simpler and more efficient. While BYOD implementation increases, teachers determine new methods of integration of mobile devices into learning. The use of personal mobile devices of students for learning seems to be attractive for universities, since these devices would help to reduce expenses and to support teaching and learning. Part of the research Epistemology Underlying Teaching Work is presented, with data collected in Peru, Chile and Uruguay, through interviews with 17 teachers. It aims to identify epistemological conceptions that underlie the teaching of Mathematics and verify whether such conceptions are similar to those found in Brazil. The objective is to apprehend the epistemological conceptions underlying the answers to questions 20-23 of the research. The result is the almost total lack of understanding that mathematical knowledge results from constructive processes. They attribute learning to teaching, without thematizing the origin of such capabilities or structures; they widely believe in its achievement by memorizing algorithms, putting creative processes such as problem solving in the background. The basic theoretical reference is Piagetian Genetic Epistemology.

Cooperative learning is not a new academical concept. It is generic term intended for a group of learning procedures -the success of this can be easily understood- in which there are organized tasks for students that, in groups, resolve problems and learn. However, cooperation can vary depending on the nature of the assignment as well as the students characteristics. Therefore, to prove if this pedagogical formula improves academic performance thanks to interactive cooperation, the software engineering learning is analyzed; this is the first step of this quantitative investigation that plans to detail criteria procedures and results, so that specialists and people interested in the subject can replicate the procedure and follow this educative investigation line

The objective of the research work was to propose a teaching method that allowed the self-management of knowledge related to the zoology of invertebrates by the students of the 3rd year of the Bachelor of Education career, comparing in-person learning vs. those not in attendance. For the development of the research, information gathering and processing methods were used, which allowed us to verify the shortcomings in terms of the use and elaboration of this type of teaching medium, for the teaching-learning process from the non-face-to-face modality. The illustrations were made to correspond with the pedagogical and hygienic requirements, which contributed to the aesthetic education of the students and raised the interest in the didactic material. Suggestions and arguments made by different experts were taken into consideration, which were largely the basis for the realization of the wor...

In Bolivia and Ecuador, there is a concept and interpretation of the teaching-learning process of a bivariate causal type of net behavioral nature (PEAc). The problem arises when, based on this interpretation, institutional policies and regulations are developed that affect education, society and even the country. Said PEAc represses creativity, motivation and even violates human rights. In teachers and students, it represses the possibility of learning to think and developing fundamental metacognitive skills. The objective of this essay and review is to analyze the problem from the behavioral roots that gave rise to the questioned concept to demonstrate, from the logical, biological, psychopedagogical and epistemological point of view that the assumptions raised around said concept are fallacies, false enthymemes, cognitive biases and/or neuromyths that harm the normal performance of ...

The teacher is one of the main actors in the learning process and his or her belief system influences his or her pedagogical practice. The objective of this research is to identify the conceptions of a group of education students in a highland province of Peru about rural education, their role in it and the characteristics of the students. A qualitative study using a semi-structured interview is proposed. The results showed that the participants recognize the cultural value of rurality and the needs and rights of its inhabitants, however, they continue to relate them to poverty and less development, which can be translated into discourses that transmit a hopeless and disadvantaged vision. Stereotypical conceptions of rural students were also identified, which may influence the construction of teachers’ expectations and have an impact on their performance and students’ academic a...

In the research, concepts associated with the procedural, attitudinal and cognitive aspects in the teaching and learning of statistics of the Academic Program for Business Development were contrasted. The design of the investigation was documentary and field, of explanatory type. For the conceptual construction, the theoretical concepts (unobservable properties) included the definition of the procedural, attitudinal and cognitive. From there, the derivative concepts inherent to the theorists were generated through correspondence rules and by means of an empirical definition the derived concepts were related to the observables (metacodes). A theoretical network was designed. Through the concepts, foci of pedagogical intervention were detected in the immediate attention areas of the context under study.

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the adoption of virtual and hybrid teaching methods, leading to substantial changes in educational approaches. This study focused on evaluating the effect of mediating technologies on post-pandemic educational processes, emphasizing their essential role in enhancing interaction and cooperation between teachers and students. Although their relevance is evident, challenges persist in terms of access, quality, and evaluation of technological educational initiatives. To address these challenges, a comprehensive literature review was conducted, examining 26 international academic studies published in the last five years. The findings indicate that mediating technologies positively influence motivation, student retention, and self-directed learning, especially in higher education and language teaching. However, the effects vary depending on the context. It is ...
