This article aims at spreading information on an unsolved problem of the peruvian educational system. This is depicted by the limited students performance wich is lower than the one stablish by the curriculum. It is clear that resources assigned to basic education are low, and it seems that the State has not assumed, what has to be done to face both problems in an effective way. This gets more complicated due to low quality of metods being used with the students. The study addressed the difficulties faced by fourth-cycle primary school students in public educational institutions in the district of Ccatca, Cusco region, in solving mathematical problems. These difficulties were attributed to the limited use of effective strategies and heuristic techniques by teachers. The main objective is to analyze the impact of applying these strategies on student performance and to propose a pedagogical model based on empirical evidence. A heuristic strategy was applied in an applied study with a pre-experimental design, involving 131 students. To measure progress, a pedagogical test (pretest and posttest) and an evaluation rubric were used. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22 and Excel. The research studies the effect of a stimulation program in the immediate auditory memory, reading comprehension and problem solving in a group of second graders primary education in their implementation the experimental method was employed with a quasi- experimental design with group control. We worked with 52 children of both sexes, second grade, who formed two groups one experimental and one control . Subjects were assessed with the Test of Auditory Immediate Memory (MAI), the Test of Linguistic complexity Progressive (CLP ) and the Test of Mathematical Behavior before and after application of the stimulation program. This paper approaches educational research from a qualitative perspective of analysis. Teachers trying to implement an investigation in this field should use, at best, both conceptions of research: quantitative and qualitative. Evidently, this will depend on the scientific context, due to the fact that a great proportion of research in the educational field demands an adequate reaction to the reality. First, we analyze the problem of scientific progress in the educational field. Then, we analyze the application limitations of quantitative investigation in education; as well as the possibilities of qualitative research. Later, we carry out main procedures of qualitative investigation. Finally, we carry out a comparison of both research models.

To date, more than 174,000 young Peruvians have failed in their academic path to university life. Three million Peruvians who will be part of the 30% of their compatriots living in poverty. It is then that the message of youth, the voice of hope and encouragement, becomes imperative, but that this does not mean denying reality or leaving it to others to interpret our own reality.
