The plant layout problem can be generalized as a case intensively studied combinatorial optimization and therefore its nature is a NP- hard. The core of the problem originally introduced as the Systematic Distribution Planning , a multi -criteria and relatively simple, has been extended to larger contexts , through the formulation as a mathematical model based on the nature of the workshops . Given the computational complexity of the calculations have been developed heuristics ,metaheuristics and others to obtain approximate solutions . The same occurs with correlated and uncorrelated quality variables. In this research work, a CPME multivariate capability index was developed by initially using a univariate index—depending on whether the data was o not normal—and any correlation between variables, and then through a characteristic function for the multivariate data. This index may be used in all the aforementioned cases. Some examples of this alternative are presented on a set of real and simulated data, where a broad performance of our proposed index was found against other similar capability indices.

The application of different unit root statistics is by now a standard practice in empirical work. Even when it is a practical issue, these statistics have complex nonstandard distributions depending on functionals of certain stochastic processes, and their derivations represent a barrier even for many theoretical econometricians. The liquid product obtained from tire pyrolysis process, called tire pyrolysis oil (TPO), has a great attraction as an alternative fuel, as it has a viscosity of 5.43 cSt (Sharma et al., 2016), density of 921 kg/m³ (Gamboa et al., 2020), surface tension of 0.028 N/m (Chumpitaz et al., 2019), and higher heating value of 46.32 MJ/kg (Das et al., 2017), which are similar to diesel oil. These physical and chemical properties have motivated research into its application in furnaces, boilers and compression ignition engines. Mathematical modelling applied to batch milling (at experimental level), is a very important tool to simulate and predict the granulometric yield of a given treated ore; this means, for a given duration of milling operation, to obtain an estimate of the corresponding granulometric analysis, which can then be tested with real data later on, to verify the estimates. The model involves the selection and fracture functions depending on each mesh size in the ore distribution. This will allow the prediction of effective and reliable results, saving costs and more importantly, time, without the need to perform the milling process for each prediction of batch milling.

The presented work demonstrates the process of designing a cheap, low cost three axis force sensor. Further it describes its integration in an array of multiple sensors to measure the distribution of forces acting on the sole of a prosthetic foot. The focus will be on easy manufacturing and common materials since the sensor will be integrated in a low cost prosthesis for lower limp amputees. Using the knowledge from bio mechanics and some basic assumptions for the later use, requirements for the project are derived. After a presentation of some state of the art sensor principles, suitable concepts are collected. Than, the concepts are compared using a comparison table to find the one the fits the requirements the best. This paper introduces an innovative approach to address the distribution network reconfiguration (DNR) challenge, aiming to reduce power loss through an advanced hyperbolic tangent particle swarm optimization (HT-PSO) method. This approach is distinguished by the adoption of a novel hyperbolic tangent function, which effectively limits the rate of change values, offering a significant improvement over traditional sigmoid function-based methods. The real-time prediction and estimation of the spread of diseases, such as COVID-19 is of paramount importance as evidenced by the recent pandemic. This work is concerned with the distributed parameter estimation of the time–space propagation of such diseases using a diffusion–reaction epidemiological model of the susceptible–exposed–infected–recovered (SEIR) type. State estimation is based on continuous measurements of the number of infections and deaths per unit of time and of the host spatial domain. The 2016 Ecuador earthquake (Mw 7.8), is part of the sequence of large earthquakes in Ecuador and Colombia: 1906 (8.4 to 8.8 Mw), 1942 (Mw 7.8), 1958 (Mw 7.7), 1979 (Mw 8.2), all these events with a focal mechanism of the thrust fault type. In this research, we have obtain the seismic source distribution (indicating the presence of 2 main asperities), from inversion of teleseismic signals, as well as the parameters of the seismic rupture process: focal mechanism that indicates a type of inverse fault (strike = 25°, dip = 12°, rake = 118°) for a focal depth of 23 km and the source time function indicating a composite event, the duration of the rupture process was around 70 s, assuming an average rupture velocity of 3.0 km/s.
