The research in the laboratory was made operating variables (reactant concentration, pH and oxidation potential) of pyrite leaching gold from river Tablachaca (Ancash Peru) with thiourea (TU) followed by electro-deposition of gold. The experimental study was conducted in three stages: Oxidation of thiourea leaching of gold and gold electroplating. As an alternative to chemical agents, TU oxidation via electrolysis was conducted to obtain formamidine disulphide (FDS), which serves as an oxidizer in the dissolution of gold. The optimum degree of conversion of formamidine disulfide thiourea in 2.5 h was obtained by applying a FEM of 4.5 V with a pH of 1.5. The anodic and cathodic compartments of the electrochemical reactor were separated by an anion membrane with the purpose of eliminating undesired reactions at the cathode. Prior to the leaching step, the mineral was washed with sul...

In this paper, we present a novel system that combines process discovery and conformance checking to optimize resource usage in the operations area of banking companies. Our proposed system improves upon previous solutions by integrating real-time process mining techniques to reduce resource consumption in banking operations. The use of real-time process mining techniques in the proposed system enables faster error identification in processes, emphasizing the importance of such techniques for banking companies. The system is comprised of two integrated process mining techniques, as reported in existing literature. Process discovery involves two key components: dataset generation and process visualization. Additionally, compliance checking involves process monitoring, alerts, and reports. To validate the effectiveness of our system, we conducted a stress test, which was evaluated by exper...

The plant layout problem can be generalized as a case intensively studied combinatorial optimization and therefore its nature is a NP- hard. The core of the problem originally introduced as the Systematic Distribution Planning , a multi -criteria and relatively simple, has been extended to larger contexts , through the formulation as a mathematical model based on the nature of the workshops . Given the computational complexity of the calculations have been developed heuristics ,metaheuristics and others to obtain approximate solutions . The aim of this study is to analyze recent research on plant distribution problems within the industrial context by classifying and comparing the representation of the problem , solution methods , constraints and the objective function used . The report covers more than 30 peer-reviewed articles on the subject. Particular attention is placed on recent pub...

Phenol can be degraded to almost 100 % within a few minutes via Fenton and photo-Fenton processes. Its degradation and the ratio of initial molar concentrations of oxidant and catalyst increase in inverse senses, and a ratio of 38.4 was optimal for aqueous solutions contaminated with 20 ppm of phenol. In addition to this, the use of ultraviolet-A light enhanced degradation when compared to shorter wavelengths.

Small and medium-sized enterprises have always proven to be crucial to national economies, yet many of them fail for a variety of reasons. One of them is selecting an inadequate supplier that does not meet the needs that the company requires to properly perform its core business. Therefore, this project proposes to develop a web application to select the best supplier option for a company. The main objective is to assist in decision making and reduce costs with a web application that implements the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP), based on a series of criteria and priorities chosen by the company itself. After testing the application, the result was a relative score assigned to each alternative, thus identifying the supplier with the highest value as the most optimal choice. Finally, through the measurement of the consistency ratio for each pair matrix developed, it was possible ...

The mathematical relationships obtained denote the complexity of the operation in the leached and adsorbed gold stage on activated carbon; since significant losses of gold in solution occur in real metallurgical operations. Similarly, in the adsorbed gold operation, it reveals its high kinetics at the beginning and tends to decrease as the process progresses; eventually reaching the maximum gold load that the carbon can accommodate, and then showing the opposite trend. Furthermore, varying the concentration of carbon affects the adsorption operation; that is, the kinetics of gold adsorbed on carbon decreases over time, but the operation has higher kinetics with a larger volume of carbon during adsorption. The mentioned aspects are made possible by establishing the respective mathematical model of gold in barren solution and gold loaded on carbon; then optimizing with Solver - an Excel to...

This paper presents a study that aimed to determine the mechanism of a process for Cr(VI) removal from aqueous solutions, using compost of carnation crop residues as the adsorbent. We assessed whether the microbiota present in the absorbent material affected the removal of Cr(VI) using respirometric measurements and evaluating the removal capacity using sterilized and not sterilized compost. Additionally, the compost was analysed before and after carrying out the Cr(VI) removal process, by quantification of the acidic functional groups and kinetic monitoring of pH, conductivity and redox potential difference. The results showed that, under the conditions used, the microorganisms present in the compost did not affect the process of Cr(VI) removal and that the mechanism can be described by an adsorption model coupled to the reduction, were this adsorption is mainly done on the acidic funct...

Industrial activities are the most common cause of water contamination by heavy metals, which endanger the quality of water resources and human health, due to their bioaccumulation capacity and consequent biomagnification. For this reason, the removal of metals from e uents before their discharge into the receiving water bodies is of crucial importance. This is why, in the present investigation, the biosorption processes of Cd (II) and Pb (II) in Phaseolus vulgaris L. (bean) agricultural residues (stems, leaves and leaf sheaths) were optimized. The influence of pH, biosorbent doses and initial concentration levels of metallic ions was evaluated using the response surface methodology (RSM). Quadratic models were developed for the percent removal of Cd (II) and Pb (II). Optimal biosorption conditions were attained at pH = 4.3, a 7.4 g/L biosorbent dose and an initial 9.14 mg/L concentratio...

Visually impaired people experience different accessibility barriers when they want to learn a second language through virtual classes. In addition to this, Screen Readers often have a high learning curve, plus they are not optimized for reading different languages at the same time. For this reason, it was decided to design the model of a Learning Management System (LMS) with a minimalist and accessible design and with an integrated voice assistant. As a result, it was obtained that the proposed solution was more efficient and effective in providing support to the process of teaching foreign languages in contrast to the methodology currently used.

The present article develops a number of classical economic-financial applications in continuous time based on the software Stella (Isee Systems, Inc.). The problems under analysis basically deal with modeling projected free cash flows and investments, and their Net Present Value estimation, a process which in many cases may require numerical integration. The document shows how Stella allows construction of a model in a simple fashion, and with it to make simulations that give graphical solutions, as is the case of the decision of the optimal harvest time, or the selection between alternative projects, among others.
