The goal of the present work is to study some properties and applications of the Gamma Function, denoted by Γ. Initially, we use the Lebesgue Integral Theory in order to prove that the improper integral given by Γ is convergent. We describe the extended domain property of Γ, and we also deduce some elementary properties. We present two different ways of proving that B(x, y) = Γ(x)Γ(y)/Γ(x+y) , where B is the Beta Function. Finally, we include some applications of the Gamma Function, between them some serve up as tools on Reliability Engineering.

A brief review is presented of the pre-history and discovery of fullerenes (and then carbon nanotubes) that make the third molecular form of carbon, and of various, predominantly physical, properties of fullerites, i.e. of crystals composed of fullerene molecules. Particular attention is being given to the intermolecular forces, especially at orientationally disordered phases. The Girifalco potential is presented for eight ful\erenes from CJx to C96 and its generalization is made for the interactions between'the different fullerene molecules, Cm and c•. The thermodynamic properties of the high-temperature modifications of a family of the fullerites, from C36 UP.. to the C96, calculated in equilibrium with their saturated vapors on the basis of the correlative method of the unsymmetrized self-consistent field that enables one to take into account the strong anharmonicity of the lattice ...

Phospholipases A2 (PLA2 ) from snake venom are enzymes with highly variety of biological effects, due to their different isoforms and some may be myotoxins. This research aimed was to purify, characterize and evaluate the myotoxic activity of an isoform of acid PLA2 (BaPer-PLA2a). For purification, in DEAE Sephadex-A50, Sephadex-G75 and an automated medium pressure system-NGC were used. BaPer-PLA2a had a specific activity of 34.1 U/ mg and a MW of ~ 14.5 kDa by SDS-PAGE, non-reducing conditions. From venom were obtained total RNA, to synthesis of cDNA and an amplified of ~ 480 bp. A mature protein of 124 amino acids was deduced from the cDNA sequence with a pI (4.41), being an acidic isoform, likewise presented primary structure with conserved regions and residues His48, Asp49 and Tyr52 identified in the catalytic center. Additionally, the structural theoretical model has an identity gre...

The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of the section “Private right” of Kant’s Doctrine of Right. I propose that the analysis of “the external mine and thine”, which takes place in this section, has the function of proving that there is a kind of subjective right related to the possession of external objects of choice: the acquired rights. These rights, as well as the innate right, require for their effective exercise the foundation of a state legislated by the general will.

In the last half century, there were several attempts to adopt the notion of supervenience in order to shed light on the claim of generality that is involved in aesthetic judgments. In this paper I will show the difficulties brought up by the transposition of the notion of supervenience from other areas of philosophy to the philosophy of art and I will also show the intrinsic difficulties of this project. First, I will revise the origins of the notion of supervenience in contemporary ethics and philosophy of mind, as well as the theoretical framework in which this notion was first introduced. Second, I will revise the arguments for and against aesthetic supervenience in the field of analytic philosophy of art. In the rest of this work, I will try to argue against the viability of applying this notion to the relationship between aesthetic and non-aesthetic properties. I will point out the...

Traffic of cultural properties has intensified lately, we see that our patrimony are sold and leave our country, being clandestine excavations, the systematic theft in churches, museums, among others, the most common crimes. From here we try to give a general framework on the existing problems and some approaches for reducing the traffic of cultural property from civil society and especially from the university.

We prove some results on the finiteness of co-associated primes of generalized local homology modules inspired by the conjecture of Grothendieck and the question of Huneke. We also show equivalent properties of minimax local homology modules. Here, we get applications for the generalized local homology module, in a general theory of modules.

In this paper some concepts used in graph theory are introduced, such as directed, undirected, connected, tree, regular or gradient, divergent or Laplacian graphs, and relationships between the diameter of the graph, or the largest second proper value of its adjacency matrix, with respect to the Cheeger constant to identify expander graphs k-regular. With these guidelines defined, some properties are introduced in Cayley graphs, with illustrative examples, and methodologies to identify if the corresponding graph is k-regular or a directed tree. Finally, Cayley expander graphs are related to their diameter or the second largest eigenvalue.

When the couple has an international dimension due to some foreign element, either because of the different nationality or residence of its members or because of the location in various States of the goods that compose its patrimony, etc., it is highly desirable to lay down harmonized rules for achieving uniform solutions to any problems that might arise. In doing so, legal safeguard is enhanced and the freedom of movement of the international couples is extremely favored. In order to achieve those objectives, the Council Regulations (EU) 2016/1103 and 2016/1104 were promulgated, whose full implementation has taken place early 2019 and, even though they were conceived within the European Union, are aimed at spouses and domestic partnerships from anywhere in the world in their subjective aspects.

Why are some countries of Latin America poor despite their great wealth? From the colony to the republic, many Latin American economies have focused on the extraction of natural resources. In the following article, the author will develop a historical analysis of the Spanish conquest. Specially focusing on the Peruvian case, the author will explain how this background shaped a top-down property regime with longstanding effects. To duly explain the “Accidental Fortune”, a constant comparison will be make between the Spanish conquest of the Americas, and the British colonization of North America. The author will show how the found resources guided each case into different directions.

The persistence of subordinated and unequal gender relations affects women preventing them from fully enjoying their substantive right to equality. The gender- neutral language of laws can exacerbate challenges women face for their rights to be acknowledged. For that reason, gender mainstreaming constitutes an effective tool which enables adjudicators to better assess the facts and evidence of a gender-related case and thus construe laws in such a way as to adjust the structural imbalance between men and women. In recent years, courts have resorted more frequently to this tool to adjudicate cases. . However, it is still in an early face as regards the division of marital assets. For that purpose, this papers reviews, as an example, some Argentine judgments in which this approach helped restore the property rights of women.

The Government's role is to protect and defend life and property of people who are under its jurisdiction (against internal or external aggression) to settle disputes that may arise, and let the people (the other) free to achieve their goals. The role of government is to be guardian of the conditions that enable families and businesses achieve their goals. If the government does that, people could provide for themselves the best. When the government protects the rights of people to do what they want (as do not violate the equal freedom of others to do the same) will do what is born: to work, cooperate and trade with each other. Then, have the incentive to save, accumulate capital, innovate, experiment, seize opportunities and produce. The best policy is to limit government action to create conditions for people to achieve their own goals and live in peace with its neighbors. The role of ...
