Future time perspective extension is an individual's perception of the psychological distance between future goals. The concept of extension can be expanded to include how far into the future an individual habitual time space extends and the diffusion of goals within that time space. This alignment and distance may be related to the individual episodic future thinking, the pre-experiencing of future events. Research in FTP and EFT are typically siloed; considering both approaches to future thinking provides not only greater insight into the two constructs but may also provide avenues for developing interventions. Participants in this study (n = 13) were recruited from a scholarship program designed to provide them with financial support as they progress from community college to high-wage careers in science and engineering. Students were transitioning from two-year programs at local comm...

Health literacy is associated with better health outcomes. Primary care professionals generally provide most of the care to patients and are also often the first point of contact for patients within a health system. This article discusses four strategies to promote health literacy in the primary care setting: 1) Improve the clinician’s communication skills, 2) Use e-Health tools, 3) Promote patient self-care, and 4) Develop support systems and care environments. These strategies are discussed in the context of the realities of low and middle income countries, as in the case of Peru.

If we analyze the demands of the university and the school until a few years ago, the university student was asked to acquire a series of knowledge of the specialty (most of them theoretical) to become a good professional. I learned the practice soon when I arrived at the company and at work, because I had a solid theoretical background. At the beginning of the 21st century, skills learning is required. The competences are complex skills-abilities that refer to the management of knowledge, skills (abilities-skills) and attitudes (values), in the realization of specific actions of a profession and with approved quality standards. The core of a competition is a capacity or potential that a person has to perform certain actions with accepted quality standards.

In this paper, the author states that every lawyer should be compelled to denounce before the corresponding bar association or the judge the cases of abuse of process that damages clients, so the (bad) lawyer, who is behind of these practices, can be punished. The author remarks the fact that, although judges and bar associations are the main protagonists in the punishment of abuse of process, the recognition of this lawyer’s duty can contribute to clients’ rights protection and the consolidation of rule of law. From this perspective, the author proposes that every abuse of process circumstance is perpetrated because a lawyer incited it or because he or she consented it; for this reason, a (bad) lawyer will always be the one who caused the abuse. Precisely, one “remedy” for a lawyer involved in these practices consists in recognize the duty of a...

Objective. To approach higher agricultural education as a complex structure, explained by the functional relationships between the formative and the executive, under performance contexts that nestle in uncertainty and chaos. Method. The systemic alternative is proposed as a way to reach new rationalities about what higher agricultural education, agronomic training and its professional configuration should be, through a critical and reflexive approach to its professional practices. Results. The guidelines of a new perspective of educational training based on epistemic and theoretical-conceptual schemes, oriented from the complexity of systems, are postulated. Conclusions. Professional practices represent the pinnacle of all disciplinary training, which in the case of the agricultural engineer is manifested through the ways in which he understands the social reality to intervene in it. The purpose of this article is to reflect on interculturality as an emerging issue in modernity, postmodernity and its scope, in the current political system, in the Latin American context. From the analysis made and ideas presented, it is shown that, if intercultural public policies continue to be developed in the current capitalist system, it will not be possible to develop theplanned objectives because, the neoliberal system, is generating legal forms capable of distorting the true value of the cultural elements of the original peoples (tourist goods or cultural heritage of humanity). In Peru there are great gender and intercultural gaps, particularly in the health sector. These gaps lead to discrimination, maternal and infant deaths, and mistreatment and dehumanization of medical attention. To improve the quality of healthcare, the SISTEC Program used workshops in gender and interculturality as its methodology, organizing 44 in 5 regions and training 837 healthcare professionals. Capitalizing this experience, a variety of factors to improve the results of these workshops stood out, such as the selection of participants, cultural adaptation and the methodology used. The workshops led to socio-cultural changes in both work and personal spheres, but their sustainability depends strongly on the institutionalization strategies used. In conclusion, trainings can be a useful methodology to drive sustainable appropriation of gender and intercultural perspectives, provided th...

This article discusses the possibility of human freedom in relation to its existential counterpart: states the limits where the person limits (neurosis, mental disorders, “somatógenas” conditions) with an integrated look, spacious and cozy regarding restriction states of freedom as possible, necessary and fully human. Regarding authors such as N. Hartmann, V. Frankl, F. Perls, S. Kierkegaard, M. Scheler, K. Jaspers, E. Martinez, K. Dabrowski, among others, in relation to the concepts of freedom and states of restriction of freedom and responsibility. Starting from this integrated vision of existence, it pretends to open up possibilities for work-oriented psychotherapeutic acceptance of what exists in the here and now, both the emotional as the experience and situation, for a fully human existence as possible.

When a debate revolves around the digital transition of Latin America, it is a mayor challenge to establish a real period of time for its solidification. This emptiness and far away feeling isn’t different when boarding the subject in the Venezuelan reality, since there are almost no strategies for the development of a digital development in a communications oriented field, especially in the audiovisual field, were external factors can be considered in the same manner as the uniqueness and challenges of the country in this process, witch will clearly show how our countries works, waiting for the last moment to confront an even more tangible reality and with an even more variety of challenges that must be taken with seriousness and a glocal perspective.
