The mineral processing and metal production have increased significantly in recent years. As a result, the amounts of waste materials and pollutants are also increasing. In many cases, technology has changed to address the problem. The processes have been modified to either reduce emissions, or replaced by others that are less polluting, albeit at a higher cost. Are briefly presented, examples of ferrous and non-ferrous industries.

In terms of the works contracts as a general rule the target prices between the parties are immutable. However, in the execution of the contracts for works might well emerge unforeseeable events, which would produce costs to the contractor. To these events, what actions the parties migth take? What kind of remedies does the Peruvian Civil Code offer?. In this article, the autor analizes these issues and proposes solutions to these unforeseeable risks, all on the basis of Peruvian Civil Code and a comparative study with Italian Civil Code.

The Peruvian standard for the execution of contract works, requires that within the first month of execution, the contractor and supervisor hand in a technical file review report. However, it does not establish the procedures and/or actions that the entity, supervisor, or contractor carry out in the face of consultations, possible additions, or alerted risks, i.e., variations. In a similar situation, during the execution of the Calana potable water Treatment Plant in the city of Tacna, some additions were approved after 70 and 103 days of having identified their requirement in the technical file review reports, generating 107 days of extension of the deadline. Therefore, when reviewing possible improvements, it is proposed to modify Article 175, Requirements for the subscription of the contract work, to obtain timely communication between the contractor, supervisor, entity, and draftsman...

This work describes and evaluates the application of a module to increase the specific abilities set in action when students resolve math problems. Such abilities are: analyzing the problem, identifying and laying out strategies, applying algorithms and revising the process that leads to the solution. The module presents problems solved by the teacher (modelling strategies) and uses the work of peers in order to consolidate and evaluate the work. The study uses a quasi experimental design with two pre defined groups, pre and post test. The sample was not probabilistic and was formed by 70 students. A test with 10 math problems was used as the instrument meant for the students to use the four strategies suggested in the module. Results show a difference in favor of the experimental group, which allows us to conclude that the module has an influence in the evaluated abilities.

In the last half century, there were several attempts to adopt the notion of supervenience in order to shed light on the claim of generality that is involved in aesthetic judgments. In this paper I will show the difficulties brought up by the transposition of the notion of supervenience from other areas of philosophy to the philosophy of art and I will also show the intrinsic difficulties of this project. First, I will revise the origins of the notion of supervenience in contemporary ethics and philosophy of mind, as well as the theoretical framework in which this notion was first introduced. Second, I will revise the arguments for and against aesthetic supervenience in the field of analytic philosophy of art. In the rest of this work, I will try to argue against the viability of applying this notion to the relationship between aesthetic and non-aesthetic properties. I will point out the...

People communicate through signs, verbal or non-verbal; to carry out this end, the speaker createsthe signs and organizes them through language. This process is dominated by the speakers who knowvery well the grammatical rules of their language. On the other hand, the dynamics of communication isthe responsibility of the speaker and the listener and both have an implicit commitment to the encodingand decoding of the message; the first, must build a simple message using the signs; the second, must decipher or interpret this message created by the speaker. This process seems to be simple, however, many times there are difficulties at the time of interpretation by the listener: what does thespeaker mean? In what sense is he saying it? The objective of this article is to analyze and explain theproblem that can arise in the interpretation of the message when there are severalmeanings in the wor...

Interculturality, as an idea and as a fact, so present since the last decades of the last century, because of the increasing domestic and international migrations worldwide, entails conceptions which come to be too diverse as the prevailing cultures at the regions of exchange. These differences favor some viewpoints and political interests, disregarding others. This obstructs the generation of shared mainstream. And Latin America holds a singular position therein.

As we know, elective cesarean section is a surgical procedure designed to reduce maternal, neonatal and perinatal morbidity and mortality, in situations that hinder vaginal delivery or that require an immediate termination of pregnancy (1). However, it is not free of complications. The same operative act and the effects of anesthesia can cause problems in the mother and in the child. In a 2016 systematic review evaluating maternal mortality attributed to anesthesia during caesarean section, it was found that 2.8% of maternal deaths, 3.5% of deaths due to obstetric complications and 13.8% of Total surgeries were attributed to the effects of anesthesia (2). On the other hand, it is known that a cesarean section increases the risk of death by six times when compared with vaginal delivery (3).

In Bolivia and Ecuador, there is a concept and interpretation of the teaching-learning process of a bivariate causal type of net behavioral nature (PEAc). The problem arises when, based on this interpretation, institutional policies and regulations are developed that affect education, society and even the country. Said PEAc represses creativity, motivation and even violates human rights. In teachers and students, it represses the possibility of learning to think and developing fundamental metacognitive skills. The objective of this essay and review is to analyze the problem from the behavioral roots that gave rise to the questioned concept to demonstrate, from the logical, biological, psychopedagogical and epistemological point of view that the assumptions raised around said concept are fallacies, false enthymemes, cognitive biases and/or neuromyths that harm the normal performance of ...

The systematic analysis of the business political action is still a debt for much of the social sciences. To this extent, most studies focused on business behavior have tried to explain how businessmen behave rather than why they do what they do. The why has been usually theoretically deduced from a set of axioms that determine what can be expected from business’ action. This paper proposes a shift on the focus and suggests the need for a more critical empirical research on the mechanisms and processes that help to explain why business act in certain ways under certain circumstances. With this aim, the paper visits a set of theories that taken together build a frame for discussing the business political action as a research problem. Based on that revision, the paper also suggests that in order to comprehend the businesses political behavior no single theory is enough, but a ...

Despite being a preventable and curable disease, Tuberculosis continues to be a major global health problem. Worldwide, according to the WHO in 2017 were estimated at 10 million new cases of active tuberculosis, equivalent to 133 cases per 100,000 people; and about 1.3 million deaths in non-HIV patients and 300,000 additional deaths in HIV patients due to this cause, mainly in countries with limited resources. On the other hand, what exacerbates the problem is the emergence of resistance to anti-tuberculous drugs, which complicates the possibilities of treatment. Isoniazid is today one of the fundamental first-line drugs for the management of Tuberculosis, being closely related to the rapid negativization of sputum bacilloscopy, attributed to the potent bactericidal effect on rapidly multiplying strains. vital relevance not only in the control of the disease, but also in the control of t...
