Between October 4 and 14, 2024, I inhabited La casa de la reescritura del capítulo 2, an artistic space located in the community of La Paisanita (Córdoba, Argentina) and coordinated by Asunción Casa Editora. During my stay, I dedicated time to work on a photobook project scheduled for publication this year. The following visual essay consists of a selection of images from the project (Frases mínimas 2016-2024), photographic notes taken on-site, and a text written, during those days, as an exercise. It draws inspiration from An Attempt at Exhausting a Place in Paris by Georges Perec (2012) and seeks to exhaust a creative process in order to understand it. I present fragments of a diary. I share not with the intention of transmitting a truth that must be acquired, but with the hope that, as Andrea Soto Calderón (Pinto Veas, 2024) says, by sharing what I have rehearsed, it may give ris...

Critical thinking in Latin America had a sustained development over the 20th century which has left methodological perspectives, categories and approaches of fundamental importance for the study and understanding of cultural phenomena, such as literary, artistic and musical expressions. In that path, Antonio Cornejo Polar's contributions, with the notions of “heterogeneity”, “contradictory totality”, and “migrant subject” are still one of the most productive and powerful inputs to account for cultural productions and its questions.Critical and theoretical thinking do not stay out of these complex and tense modes of production that Cornejo Polar pointed out as peculiar to the cultural production in Latin America. This work seeks to consider the effectiveness and applicability of this critical course emphasizing the potential and productivity of thought across frontiers, either...

At the multiethnic and multicultural colonial Paraguay’s space, some people played a central role as intermediaries between different cultural traditions. Within this context, in the reducciones de indios emerged a new kind of actors who displayed a diversity of strategies in order to preserve indigenous welfare as self-profit. These were the guaraní leaders, a kind of cultural bridges as well as political and economic agents because of the daily practices they play in thecolonial society.

In Peru, law students must complete a preprofessional internship period. Despite the relevance of these experiences as their first encounter with the reality of the professional practice, there are no investigations that inquire into their impact on the student learning process. In this article, based on a theoretical framework around Hannah Arendt and the narrative analysis of students accounts, we seek to identify and understand how frozen thoughts operate in their experience as trainees. In our analysis, we identified the following frozen thoughts: (i) it is necessary to work in excess in order to learn, (ii) mistreatment is acceptable if everyone is subject to it and (iii) tasks must be carried out without thinking or questioning them. Even though these thoughts are transmitted to the students in grave situations of legal non-compliance, mistreatment, and the commission of professiona...

Due to its critical, demystifying and emancipating nature, the chair of sociological thinking contributes to the analysis of the relational nature of social processes, as well as the demands that the performance of its formative function requires. Hence, teaching becomes relevant, since it provides students with theoretical concepts, instruments and techniques so that they can approach reality with professional competence. In that sense, in the first class, I always wanted to know the students not only as a person, but mainly about their sociological thinking and abilities to carry out research and intervention as social managers. Students were asked a set of questions for their discussion in the classroom: what did they understand by sociology as a scientific discipline? What theoretical and methodological approaches had most influenced your professional training? among other questions....

This article argues that there is a transformation in the relationship between land, peasant communities and its members or comuneros. In the case of the communities of the Peruvian northern coast, this transformation links with a double dynamic: (i) the increasing external pressure on the resource from the private-national and transnational capitals, and (ii) the emergence of new means and motivations of access to land among the communal members. Under these circumstances, the communities seek to develop mechanisms of containment that, nevertheless, escape to their own logics of controland imply the risk of a progressive division of shares of the communal territory. In order to demonstrate this, the article examines new uses (and potential uses) of the land that generates more expectations among the comuneros, and new strategies of access to the resource that different actors compete for...

Alberto Flores Galindo has recently emphasized, taking up Basadre, that for the Peruvian case, the most significant contribution of the intelligentsia of that country in the present century has been to become aware of the importance of the Indian "in a country dominated by racism. .. who intended to condemn his peasants to silence". We cannot say such a thing about Ecuador. Our greatest historian at the beginning of the century, Gonzáles Suárez, was convinced that history did not begin in aboriginal times but at the moment of subjugation of the Indians by the Spanish, that the Indians —that "defeated race"— did not have any historical potential Furthermore, they were located outside of it, that the foundation of Ecuadorian nationality corresponded entirely to the mestizos, the only ones he considered to be the initiators of history, a people with a future.

In the face of a conflict, citizens can follow different ways to solve it. But, how justice is configurated in the conclusion of a specific conflict? what guarantee that the procedure of the mechanism is fair? We can think here in the due process of law; nevertheless, due process of law does not reach all mechanisms of conflict resolution. This paper, therefore, focuses in the study of the role of justice in (i) the procedural scope of judicial process and ADR mechanisms; and in (ii) the conflict resolution generated by them.

The process of searching for truth in research begins in the subjective world of the researcher, in which there is a cognitive debate between the subjective and the objective to be known. In the development of the essay, this type of thinking is explained as a complex movement, philosophically called modus cognoscendi processes, which arises from the anthropological dimension of being and the intersubjective epistemic dimension of being. It consolidates the unveiling, what is experienced in the consciousness of the researcher to reach the truth of the phenomenon under study, in a cognitively co-reflexive act thatinvolves knowing to understand and hermeneutically interpret what is real. He concludes that the truth is reached in an eternal movement of the researcher’s way of thinking since it fluctuates between the uncertain, the reason and the juxtaposed between them, when trying to sig...

In this paper, we review the compositional operations of acting in theater rehearsal based on the concept of equality scene (Rancière, 2012). We are interested in how the acting composition manifests itself in independent theater rehearsal read as a possible equality scene. The focus of this work is placed in the theatrical rehearsal and the acting composition. We will share possible theoretical approaches to the term theatrical rehearsal. We will carry out research on the categories and definitions that intervene in the acting repetition that occurs in the acting creative process during rehearsal. Whit the contributions around rehearsal in Alberto Ure (2003), the acting conception in instances of stage composition developed in Cancha con niebla (2003) by Ricardo Bartís, and the acting registers posed by Federico León (2005), we propose a theoretical panorama of the notion of rehearsa...

The present study aims to integrate resilience concepts within the context of a theoretical model for child maltreatment, the ecological model, as well as to describe risks and protective factors leading to a better interaction as a dynamic process. Thinking deeply about maltreatment from the point of view of resilience implies focusing on the serious consequences it produces, as well as on the assessment of children’s resources to continue growing and developing despite the risks. We may promote children’s potential by understanding resilience within a child maltreatment framework based on this model (interactional, bidirectional and reciprocal).

The psychoeducational intellectual work of Lev Vygotsky (1896-1943) provides a theoretical and sociohistorical meaning that allows you to see from a contextualized perspective the higher forms of self- regulation, conscious control and forms of self-governance. This contribution to the theory of the psychology of education is clearly consistent with the conclusions of the interaction approaches that have been developed by the sociology of the Chicago School (George Mead, 1863-1931), proposing the concept of “Symbolic Interactionism” (Herbert Blumer, 1900-1987), to explain the essentially social nature of the person and his actions, which were consolidated in the field of criminology. From the recognition of the pedagogical-educational purpose that is assigned to the process and juvenile criminal sanction, the present essay aims to use the socio- historical theoretical (Vygotsky) and ...
