A landfill is an infrastructure used for the final disposal of non-recyclable wastes. lt is possible to calculate its usetul lifetime by taking into account three cases; the first one assumes that there is no growth in the population, the second that the population doubles every given number of years and the third that the population grows exponentially. The following article presents all three cases in detail; as well as examples to determine the useful lifetime of the landfill (in years).

La tesis tiene como objetivo la implementación de un programa con la capacidad de brindar un diseño preliminar, rápido y simple, para gasoductos enterrados mediante la plataforma ofimática Excel. Para ello, este programa se desarrolló siguiente una metodología, la cual tiene por base formulaciones obtenidas a través de la recopilación bibliográfica. Para la programación se eligió el lenguaje de programación Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) sobre la plataforma de Excel. Finalmente, el programa está pensado para ser una herramienta que ayude en la rápida toma de decisiones respecto al gasoducto a implementar.

Objective: To determine the relationship between nutritional status and anemia in children under five years of age in the Locuto–Tambogrande population center in 2025. Materials and methods: A basic, quantitative, descriptive, and correlational cross-sectional study was conducted with a probability sample of 50 children. Nutritional status was evaluated using weight-for-age, height-for-age, and weight-for-height indicators, while anemia was identified through hemoglobin levels recorded in the vaccination cards. Results: 70% of the children presented with anemia and 78% had a low nutritional status; additionally, 82% showed low weight-for-age, 80% low height-for-age, and 58% low weight-for-height. The etymological origin of the word "Perú" presents historical gaps that have traditionally been attributed to the Spanish. However, the globalization of knowledge and access to new sources allow for the exploration of alternative hypotheses. The study aims to demonstrate that "Perú" has roots in indigenous South American languages, specifically in Amazonian, Tupi-Guarani, Quechua, and other indigenous Amazonian languages. The research uses a basic qualitative approach, with an exploratory descriptive level, utilizing the historical method to analyze documentary and etymological sources. The results reveal that the Amazonian origin is supported by the phonetic similarity with river names such as Pará, Paru, Apere, Purús, Paraná, and Perené. Trauma has now become a pandemic with a severe social en economical impact upon society. High morbidity and mortality rates; and especially the high costs of frequent permanent sequels of trauma, put pressure on healthcare systems for facing this condition using a multidisciplinary approach, looking for minimizing damage using multiple strategies. In this respect, healthcare systems must be adequately organized as well as all the processes in order to achieve good outcomes when taking care of polytraumatized patients; consequently, healthcare teams must be adequately prepared, always looking for continuous training and updating with respect to initial management of these patients, since, according to many studies, mortality rates reach the highest values during the first hour after the event, and 25% of deceases occur because of an inadequate management.
