If we analyze the demands of the university and the school until a few years ago, the university student was asked to acquire a series of knowledge of the specialty (most of them theoretical) to become a good professional. I learned the practice soon when I arrived at the company and at work, because I had a solid theoretical background. At the beginning of the 21st century, skills learning is required. The competences are complex skills-abilities that refer to the management of knowledge, skills (abilities-skills) and attitudes (values), in the realization of specific actions of a profession and with approved quality standards. The core of a competition is a capacity or potential that a person has to perform certain actions with accepted quality standards.

In this edition of the magazine From the South we find a series of reflections on Peru framed within the commemoration of the bicentennial. Although only one of them focuses on directly studying the period of independence, and its analysis does not focus on how the separation with Spain was achieved or on the celebrations held in these years of pandemic, it is clear that all of the Papers in this issue contribute to the understanding of Peru in this specific context. 2021 has been a particular year. On the one hand, the country and the entire world are still immersed in the complex and changing reality of the pandemic, while, on the other hand, Peru has lived through an intense and exhausting electoral process that has not managed to put an end to the political instability that It has characterized it for the last five years.

This article advances in explaining the productive use of vuestro in Cusco Spanish (Peru), based on new fieldwork data. We highlight its plural meaning and its systematic integration into the paradigm of ustedes. We analyze its discursive value for contrasting groups with each other and its social indexicality as a marker of literacy. Finally, we outline three proposals on the aspects still to be studied: (1) the diatopic diffusion of PL vuestro in other parts of the Andean region (and outside the Andes); (2) its diachronic evolution (as a result of the hybridization of the paradigms of vosotros and ustedes); and (3) the indirect effect of language contact (the contrastive use of vuestro as a compensation strategy for regionally relevant communicative categories, grammaticalized in Southern Quechua).

The most important advance for global of control cervical cancer is the emergence of prophylactic vaccines against human papillomavirus (HPV) 16 and 18. A new phase starts that changes cervical cancer prevention and control paradigms, whose impact in the reduction in incidence and mortality will be observed by many of us in the next 20 years. The main challenge will be to establish an organized social response according to our physical infrastructure and human resources, our finantial factibility to implement the new technologies in the people and very importantly to consider the need of education and health promotion according to local and regional needs; all this to guarantee one of the main health rights, equity of access to all our population.

The research objective is to demonstrate that there is a positive relationship between the principal’s pedagogical leadership and the teaching performance at the secondary level of "María Parado de Bellido" school, Rímac district, Lima - 2017. The research approach is quantitative with transactional design, and correlational type. The sample was 280 students, 44 teachers and 3 principals to whom a survey was applied. For the validation was made from the expert judgment, with a result of 92%, also used the Cronbach’s Alpha test, obtaining 0,916 of reliability, determining its internal consistency with very high tendency. After the lost decade of the 1980s, the 1990s represent the "decade of hope" for Latin America. A vigorous economic transformation is reducing the role of the state and allowing the private sector to become once again the main engine of development. What is the relation between this growing role of the private sector and the increasingly important need to conserve the environment? This article explores this relation and establishes that a healthy environment is the foundation over which long-term sustainable development can be built. Furthermore, given the very rich natural resources and environmental characteristics of the region, the main comparative advantages over which prosperous Latin America societies can be built must consider these ecological riches. The beginning of the third millennium provides an excellent opportunity for this paradigm shift to occur.

The article reviews the problem of digital competences from the digital constructivist learning approach for digital empowerment from formative education of the dimensions: (a) personal, (b) ethical, (c) professional, as opposed to the structuralist definition or functionalist of the connectivist approach, which prioritizes the professional and functional dimension of the competences in the use of information and communication technologies. Digital competences are established as the skills to achieve integration, accessibility, employability and equity of digital communities, valued in the context of the current pandemic and in virtual education, doors of a future of sustainable health and citizenship.

In Peruvian Spanish the double possessive of the third person is observed in the speech variation among speakers in the following canonic form: article + N de + N (e.g., las primas de mi yerno) [literally, the cousins of my son-in-law] vs. possessive + N de + N (e.g., su hijo de mi hermana) [literally, her son of my sister]. We believe that this “redundant” genitive has expanded the function of removing ambiguity between two possessors and has begun a redistribution of semantic content as a significant signal, a specialized pragmatic tool or an intentional mechanism that expresses empathy in the face of an established relationship possessor-possessed. Este artículo revisa algunas de las premisas éticas desde las que usualmente los involucrados se acercan al manejo forestal con la finalidad de contrastarlas con nuevas aproximaciones al manejo forestal que permitan fundamentar un enfoque más diverso y humanista para los ecosistemas forestales peruanos. Para el efecto se realiza una revisión bibliográfica relevante sobre el tema y se complementa con la experiencia de campo de los autores en la Amazonia peruana. The article proposes a new methodology, the three-perspective approach, for the classification of photographs in archives. It is based on the intersection of visual economy and mass communication theory. This approach understands the archive as a relational phenomenon, where images participate in networks of meaning and power. The three perspectives are the sender and production, the image and circulation, and the audience and consumption, all framed within a specific space/time. The methodology is applied to the case study of the TAFOS project collection, active between 1986 and 1998.
