The conquest of the letter meant for the Quechua speakers experimentation and exploration of new forms of expression. This has happened to half of the twentieth century, when in Cusco and Huanta spread the first stories and poems written by Quechuas writers. We propose that these narratives have been consolidated at the end of the twentieth century and at the beginning of the century, as independent manifestations that attain the conformation of a corpus impressive as well as representative. This research aims to increase the visibility of narrative Quechua’s corpus therefore, we take as a reference temporary 19802015 and sets its studies in the Quechua production of Peru. These narratives are part of the country’s modernization from the XX century; essentially written manifestations not their oral forms, although inevitably we will link to them.

A scientifically competent medicine alone is insufficient to help patients cope with loss of health, find meaning in suffering and endow the physician with the ability to establish a sufficiently compassionate and empathetic physician-patient relation. Interest in these aspects is typical of clinical care models focused on the patient (and not on diseases), which also implies recognizing that patients bring their own stories with information about their experience of the disease. Narrative, a linguistic form with defined characteristics used in medicine, helps to create a bridge between modern biomedicine and the experience lived by the patient. Narrative medicine includes aspects of the biopsychosocial model and patient-centered care. It favors the development of skills to take advantage of narratives in the diagnostic, therapeutic, patient education, professional and research processes...

Communication for development (CfD) is a discipline that seeks to promote social change through the strategic use of media and participatory dialogue. However, there is a paucity of studies that systematically and critically analyze the social processes underlying CfD interventions and their impact on the social significance of beneficiary communities. This article presents a narrative review of the literature on CfD, with the aim of identifying the main theoretical and methodological approaches that have addressed this topic, as well as the main limitations and challenges facing research in this field. Thirty-five articles published between 2018 and 2023 were analyzed, selected through a search in the Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO, Redalyc and Latindex databases. The results show that most of the studies adopt a qualitative and participatory perspective, focused on the analysis of spec...

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the genesis or emergence, within the Peruvian literary system, of a self-reflective literary discourse whose aim is to present the writing process of a work from the point of view of its author. In order to clarify the features and strategies found in this particular type of discourse, we analyze the case of Historia secreta de una novela (1971) [The Secret History of a Novel], an essay by Mario Vargas Llosa. Finally, the main characteristics of this type of discourse are specified, such as the presence of a dialogical, autobiographical, prescriptive or testimonial component, at a micro-discourse level.

The purpose of this paper is to provide a theoretical approach to the notion of political counter-narrative. Given the novelty of this narrative technique, its causes are first addressed: moral absolutism, affective polarization, informational chaos, uncertainty, and digital tribalism. Then, the counter-narrative is defined as a semantic structure that, regardless of temporality, seeks to destroy the symbolic capital of the adversary. Subsequently, its main features –reactivity, negativity, emotiveness, stereotyping, and permanence– are detailed, as are its functions –linking wills through opposition, drawing clear identity boundaries, being emotionally rewarding, and simplifying reality–. In closing, a review of the main findings is provided, and various lines of research are proposed, such as observing the resonance and application of this technique by citizens and the possibil...

This article presents the concepts developed by Bororo people in their narratives, focusing on the word they use to name them —bakaru— as well as on their manifestations in everyday situations. Our goal is to show how understanding these concepts and their manifestations in the community reveals aspects of Bororo’s life and culture, that are essential knowledge for our professional interactions with them within the school education program. The data presented come from ethnographic research held in the Central Village of Tadarimana in Rondonópolis (Mato Grosso state, Brazil), between 2011 and 2012. They reveal that these narratives constitute a body of guidelines for Bororo life as a prescriptive dimension resulting from how these people conceive the cosmos; and as a formative dimension, when they use them to guide the training...

Couples sex therapists listen to the self-reported narrations of their patients' personal disturbances. In general, patients never bring witnesses, neither photos, nor videos, nor audios, only their own intrapersonal testimony; processing an interview of a disorder referred to sexuality is like processing a dream dream, it meets the three criteria of subjective reality narration: space, time and plot; the patients narratively describe their erotic behavior, in addition, said behavior is intra-psychic, therefore behavioral scientists, who analyze observable and concrete behaviors, should not process or examine them; likewise, most of sexuality occurs in a psychic space or psychodynamic field titled: intra-subjective, inter-subjective, and trans-subjective; the only ones who can access and understand it would be psychoanalysts and other theorists of the psychodynamics of personality. Ever since 1904, when Argentine President Julio Argentino Roca attended a match between local team Alumni and English club Southampton in Buenos Aires, the relationship between sports and politics in Latin America has always been close. This is especially true for football: as the sport became a practice and product consumed by the popular classes —known as the process of popularisation, from 1910 to the 1930s throughout the whole continent—, the political elites tried to utilise it as a space to obtain visibility and popularity. But as of the ’30s, another political possibility emerged: sport as a tool in the construction of popular national narratives through which nations represent themselves as the incarnation of its people and in which sports stars are the new heroes. These processes not only accompanied the successful emergence of Latin American populist experiences —Brazil...

Introduction: The post-exodontic alveolar atrophy requires quality bone regeneration techniques, and therefore, it is necessary to apply platelet concentrates, which are bioactive agents in the process of preserving the alveolar bone. The use of platelet concentrates proved to be an excellent osteoinducer since it leads to three important effects for maintaining bone structure. Objective: To analyze the use of platelet concentrates in post-exodontic bone regeneration. Materials and methods: A descriptive, explanatory study. A narrative review in which data was collected from 26 scientific articles published in scientific databases such as PubMed, Redalyc, ScienceDirect, and Ovid between 2012 and 2022. Conclusions: Platelet concentrates are physiological materials that speed up the healing time of post-extraction wounds. They are autologous since they are taken from the p...

This paper aims to discuss the formation of identities in the Ancash region based on a Narrative Inquiry of two families living in the city of Huaraz, the parents are Hirka and Quyllur. Both have faced the same external influences but have opted for different identity constructions. Narrative inquiry employs three dimensions: interaction, continuity, and situation. The data analysis was based on the composition of meanings and the interpretative perspective of the experiences that consist of organizing meanings based on the data and a reflective process by the researcher, and the presentation of the advances to a support group to discuss, review and adjustment of the obtained data. From the analysis of the experiences, we can conclude that Hirka represents cultural resistance and Quyllur cultural assimilation. The first considers that their cultural practices have been inherited from the...

Root canal calcification is characterized by the deposit of mineralized tissue along the canal walls, it is usually asymptomatic and is detected incidentally during a radiographic examination. Teeth that suffer from this process may develop apical periodontitis over time and consequently require endodontic treatment. The pulp chamber and root canal space may be partially or completely obliterated, increasing the risk of procedural errors during root canal preparation. With the advent of cone beam computed tomography (HCCT), teeth can be visualized three-dimensionally, and the superimposition of anatomical structures is eliminated. This review aims to present the considerations for the diagnosis and management of calcified root canals. An electronic search was carried out in PubMed, SciELO, Google Scholar and Science Direct, using the keywords cone-beam computed tomography/endodontics /pu...

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in both high mortality rates and a decrease in the response of health services worldwide. Many people changed their lifestyles due to the deterioration of their health both during the acute and post-illness stages. Depression, and especially sleep disorders, deserve attention due to their high prevalence within the so-called post-COVID-19 syndrome because they are associated with a deterioration in the quality of life of those affected. Knowing its prevalence and understanding its pathophysiology, clinical spectrum and treatment methods remain matters of research. The objective of this narrative review is to present the latest findings on sleep disorders as manifestations of post-COVID-19 syndrome. For this purpose, scientific literature was consulted using three databases—PubMed, Scopus and SciELO—resulting in a total of 867 articles, which were re...
