There is at present in Peru an important concern in the knowledge society to respond to the demands of the productive sector already that during these last decades the specialties in each college were introduced on the initiative of the teachers, without any study of the labor market or the needs of the different regions, nor of the contributions of the industrial engineers to secondary education directly or indirectly. Currently not enough to have manual skills, but a set of capabilities that graduates will enable them to solve problems and perform in different posts or create their own businesses. The current approach that gives the education for the job is not geared toward this.Throughout the development of the chapters you will find also the references on the requirements of the industry by people trained in certain skills and on the other hand will be able to appreciate the strong ...

In the last decade the multicore processors had emerged with the comeback of the symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) after a long decade in which the based OpenMPI clusters had dominated the high performace processing world. Actually, we have in the market 2, 4 and 6 multicore processors; the Cell BE processors with a Power Processor Element (PPE) and 8 vectorial processors called Synergistic Processor Element (SPE), and graphics processors which have from 48 to 448 cores dedicated to numerical tasks. In the present work, we show our experience in the interaction with these processors, discussing the programming techniques and the future possibilities for making low cost numerical tasks.

Moving between two worlds: integrating interculturality in bilingual educationprograms in Cusco, PeruMany indigenous children in Peru are disadvantaged from birth, a situation which is exacerbated by the many deficiencies in the provision of educational services to rural communities. The Ministry of Education and non-governmental organizations are working together with teachers and community members to implement programs whose goal is a truly intercultural bilingual education. This study presents theresults of a research project which compared two rural schools: one follows the state curriculum; the other, more promisingly, works at the community level with the aim of preparing the children to move with confidence between the two worlds which make up the Peru of today. The study shows promising results in the experimental school in the use both of Spanish and of Quechua by the students.

The teaching of human parasitology is essential for students of health sciences, especially medicine, because it is a major global public health problem―occurring with high frequency in low-income countries―and because of its presence in countries considered developed. In this sense, it is estimated that worldwide there are 2,800 million individuals infected with soil-transmitted helminths, 20 to 30% people infected with Toxoplasma gondii, 300 to 500 million new cases of malaria per year, and nearly 15 million Latin Americans with Chagas disease, an infection caused by Trypanosoma cruzi. This narrative review article analyzes information available in digital repositories on aspects of the traditional educational program of human or medical parasitology using descriptors or keywords closely related to the topic. The reviewed articles were mainly those published in peer-reviewed, index...

Support Vector Machines are extensively used to solve classification problems in Pattern Recognition. They deal with small errors in the training data using the concept of soft margin, that allowfor imperfect classification. However, if the training data have systematic errors or outliers such strategy is not robust resulting in bad generalization. In this paper we present a model for robust Support Vector Machine classification that can automatically ignore spurius data. We show then that the model can be solved using a high performance Mixed Integer Quadratic Programming solver and present preliminary numerical experiments using real world data that looks promissing.

This article will analyze the concepts of memory, mnemonic, palimpsest and hypertext. Sebastien Marot (2003), professor of the École d’Architecture de la Ville & des Territoires - Marne-la-Vallée (France), explains that these four reflexes are a new way of facing a design program in architecture, which prioritizes the site. These same concepts –memory, mnemonics, palimpsest and hypertext– are related to preservation, either in an urban or architectural context. The goal of this paper is to give examples (mostly in Panama City) of their use in this discipline, and relate these reflexes or characteristics to a method for the development of a conservation project. These examples will explain how memory and mnemonics preserve the spirit of place, how a palimpsest represents the history of the transformations of a territory, city or building, and how a hypertext can help organize ...
