The objective is to describe and discuss some findings on university education and learning of recent graduated doctors in their Rural and Marginal Urban Health Service (SERUMS) in the Junin region. Young doctors’ training is basically hospital based and their expectations after graduating are inclined to cure complex diseases rather than to develop primary health care activities. There is a recurrent lack of knowledge of management of health prevention and promotion programs in health posts and centers. How to communicate, give confidence, restore and support the decisions of patients are difficult in emergency situations or uncertainty about their illnesses. The emphasis on how to achieve humane care in which both professionals and patients can hear themselves and agree on joint decisions is a challenge in construction.

The consensus that has been reached in recent years in the execution of family planning programs around the world is to affirm that the effectiveness of their execution resides in an ethical attitude that privileges the rights of the person, a consensus that coincides with the demand of quality, focused on what the client requires.

Dr. César Cabezas is a prominent researcher at the National Institute of Health who has conducted several valuable investigations, including studies on yellow fever, dengue, viral hepatitis, and malaria. His training as a professional began at the University of San Marcos, where he graduated as a medical surgeon in 1985. Later, he obtained a specialization in infectious and tropical diseases and a master's degree in medicine from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. He has been director general of the National Center for Public Health Laboratories between 1994 and 1998.

El objetivo de este trabajo fue diseñar un curso autogestivo modular en línea de metodología de la investigación para estudiantes universitarios y describir la ruta de aprendizaje de los estudiantes. It is a special occasion to present this monographic issue of Allpanchis magazine dedicated to the topic of health and mountains in Peru. The motivation for programming this number is the verification that in recent years studies on perceptions, conditions, services and health policies in Peru have increased and deepened.
