The natural activation of sphalerite during flotation of lead is mainly related to the contamination of lead concentrate. The high content of zinc in the lead concentrate receives economic sanctions by higher refining costs, plus zinc content decreases in its flotation circuit. This research has been conducted on five samples of different minerals to identify the probable causes activation of natural sphalerite. The results indicate that the causes are intergrowths Mineralogical between lead and zinc, and the presence of soluble salts of Cu2 +. The ferrous ions and ferric Fe2 + Fe3 + did not show a significant effect on the activation of sphalerite.

The GPSS/H (General Purpose Simulation system), is both a computer programming language and a discrete random simulation system. It is versatile, easy to write and can solve a wide range of problems many of them concerned with the mining industry. This language is non procedural designed for a special purpose which tries to anticipate what the programer is doing. Programs are of short computational code and similar to the problem being solved. The application example shows that for an 8 truck fleet hauling ore and waste from 4 hydraulically operated underground bins onto two unloading points at surface for ore and waste, it is required to add one additional bin to avoid queues and attain minimum operating cost.

In the Huanzalá Mine, the problems in the fiber-reinforced shotcrete (hereinafter SRF) were identified, the underground mining works present deterioration in the cracked shotcrete, therefore, the structural ductility and embrittlement of the steel and polymer SRF are analyzed.The initial deformations around the excavation are estimated with the RS2 software, which indicate that the SRF will present cracks that are monitored in the field (width and convergence); the energy absorption properties of steel and polymer SRF are obtained by laboratory tests.
