Gamification is the use of game elements to promote motivation, increase participation, and enhance the teaching and learning process. The purpose of this study was to develop a methodological strategy based on gamification to reinforce the teaching and learning process of the English language at the upper basic level of the Charapotó Educational Unit. A methodology with a socio-critical approach, a mixed approach, and a descriptive research type with a non-experimental design were used. The present article, which derives from a master’s thesis in Linguistics carried out at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, aims to identify the relationship between the identity and attitude of the bilingual inhabitants of the district of Pontó, province of Huari, Ancash region, on the process of extinction of the Quechua language. Two questionnaires were applied to collect information on the identity and attitude towards their native language in people of different ages. The results obtained indicate that Quechua is generally spoken by the elderly, specifically in those over 60 years; consequently, it is threatened and dominated by the growing castellanization in the area of Pontó (Ancash), a similar aspect that occurs in most South American countries with respect to their native languages.

Vitality in the Aimara language can be assessed in several ways and you can be seen it as an endangered language. In this appraisal there are some factors arising from a ground of positive cultural diversity may influence the process of asserting a groups’s own identity or, to understand respect the identity of the others.In this last point the political (ie, attaining official status), religious, scholarly (chair of Aimara), literary (written sources), territorial, identity and ethnic resistance aspects can be seen as factors of vitality. But identity and self-esteem can also be reflected in the number of speakers, by social prestige, availability of media, and its use historical and cultural codification, and ways of expressing each other the words and by oneself.
