It has been demonstrated that economic growth is a required condition but not enough to reduce poverty and inequality, which are obstacles to the full development of every society. As a result, different perspectives have emerged to challenge the current measurement of development, based on gross domestic product (GDP). Inclusive growth is a new approach that offers a combination of increased prosperity and greater equity. This article argues that the perspective of inclusive growth can draw on strategies implemented as local economic development (LED), and that communication for development is a significant alternative to move from discourse to implementation of endogenous processes. This analysis is based on the reality of countries rich in natural resources, particularly Peru, where economic growth and reduction of monetary poverty have been considerable, while the quality of life of ...

Venezuela’s population movement is the largest in Latin America, currently seven million Venezuelans have left their country. According to statistics from the Interagency Coordination for Refugees and Migrants of Venezuela (2023): more than six million people have moved to Latin America and the Caribbean. The objective of this research is to know the process of educational inclusion of Venezuelan boys, girls and adolescents in the public educational system. It is hypothesized that education depends on two factors: the employment situation of the parents and their immigration status. Results show that learning is linked to a cultural, symbolic and social dynamic. Furthermore, Ecuador lacks a public policy for the inclusion of migrants in daily life and the recognition of their rights. On the other hand, the training of teachers with an intercultural approach and a global vision is urgen...

The essay aims to explore the situation of immigrant students in Latin American schools focusing on two aspects: the factors that limit an inclusive and intercultural educational practice and the ways in which students respond to the challenges posed by their school experience. The conclusion is that two contradictory conceptions/practices of education coexist in Latin American educational systems. One, which understands education as a public good that can be universalized under the same conditions for all; the other, which conceives education as a limited good in relation to the economic, social and cultural possibilities of families, a model imposed by the neoliberal shift that took place in the region. This tension has a direct impact on school life and is manifested in two paradoxical situations: i) states recognize that they must guarantee education for all, but at the same time, th...

The article, the results of a study carried out with academic teacher educators of the Universidad Católica del Maule, to which a survey was applied based on a Likert scale, seeks to reveal their opinions in relation to educational inclusion, the links that establish between NEE and inclusion, the recognition of other groups that are subject to exclusion and / or discrimination in school systems, the critical knots involved in the attention of some of these groups and the training possibilities offered by their institution in this field. Among the main findings are the expansion of inclusion ideas that, in the opinion of these academics, has resulted in concern for other groups subject to exclusion, not limited to the care of students with NEE. In addition, they conclude that the future teachers trained by the Universidad Católica del Maule, although they are sensitive to the subject, ...

Financial education is a fundamental component of a sustainable and healthy financial life for individuals; thus, the absence of financial knowledge leads to detrimental financial behavior and exclusion, thereby limiting opportunities and diminishing the quality of life. The aim of this research was to provide a comprehensive analysis of current trends, thematic gaps, and future areas of research in financial education. To achieve this, a scientometric analysis and systematic literature review were conducted on the latest production in two highly regarded databases over the last five years. The study is part of the educational inclusion (EI) of migrant children. It focuses on the increase of Venezuelan immigrant families in Santiago de Chile and the entry of their children to the first school cycle. The objective was to provide a voice to this age group in order to describe how positive parenting becomes a protective agent of their IE. Non-experimental descriptive qualitative approach research used open coding guided by the study objectives. To do this, a thematic script, validated by three independent experts, was applied to a focus group of 30 students, inserted in three public schools. The results allow us to conclude that positive parenting skills, especially emotional support skills, have a positive impact on EI.

People with disabilities are a vulnerable and excluded population from their rights such as admission, permanence and graduation from higher education, especially from in Latin American dental schools. The objective of this review is to review the literature on educational inclusion in Latin American dental schools. A review of the national and Latin American literature was carried out on the concepts of disability, inclusive education and undergraduate dentistry using primary and secondary sources; among which, books, thesis and Medline, SciELO, Pubmed, Lilacs, Dialnet and Redalyc databases were consulted. It was concluded that dental schools are in default and in debt to people with (dis) ability in Latin America due to the dynamics of higher education that continue to perpetuate the exclusion or discrimination of people with disabilities in undergraduate dentistry.
