This article seeks to understand two aspects related to the occupation of public space in the context of the pandemic. The first seeks to identify the uses and appropriations that people make of parks, while the second seeks to explore the use of parks as a means of earning a living. For this, the dynamics of five parks located in the district of San Miguel in metropolitan Lima were observed. Through an ethnographic research, it was concluded that the main form of appropriations is the transformations of parks into productive territories. Formally conceived as recreational settings for natural and aesthetic enjoyment, they became spaces for work and survival (material and subjective) that allowed people to make a living in a context of a deep employment crisis.

This article is based on the author’s experience as a lecturer in a teacher training program in Intercultural Bilingual Education. It reflects on how the ethnic identity of indigenous young people is constructed before they start their university studies. The aim is to explore the process of identity construction (“Who am I?” “Who are we?”) from significant spaces and experiences in which ethnicity is manifested. This journey attempts to reconstruct the paths followed by young people before entering university as well as the different meanings acquired by their identities. It concludes that assuming oneself as Quechua, Shipibo, Aymara or as a member of any native community constitutes a choice affected by a conflictive intersubjectivity; it is also concluded that ethnic affirmation is a dynamic, conflictive experience in permanent negotiation and without a predefined teleology ...

The essay aims to explore the situation of immigrant students in Latin American schools focusing on two aspects: the factors that limit an inclusive and intercultural educational practice and the ways in which students respond to the challenges posed by their school experience. The conclusion is that two contradictory conceptions/practices of education coexist in Latin American educational systems. One, which understands education as a public good that can be universalized under the same conditions for all; the other, which conceives education as a limited good in relation to the economic, social and cultural possibilities of families, a model imposed by the neoliberal shift that took place in the region. This tension has a direct impact on school life and is manifested in two paradoxical situations: i) states recognize that they must guarantee education for all, but at the same time, th...

From the ideas of bond and reciprocity, the way in which the protagonist constructs her social and affective interactions within the prison is explored. We conclude that Julia configured a complex network of exchanges (services, goods, affections, feelings and corporalities) that allowed her to give meaning to her experience in prison.
