Una de las actividades que viene desarrollando el Área de Identificación, Registro e Investigación del Proyecto Qhapaq Ñan, es la actualización de la información obtenida durante los reconocimientos arqueológicos de las campañas de campo 2003, 2004 y 2008, que contienen información gráfica de los tramos de caminos y sitios arqueológicos asociados a la red vial inca.

El poeta José María Eguren (1874-1942) amplía su mirada y su quehacer hacia otras disciplinas: es poeta pero también es pintor y fotógrafo, por eso, al trabajar «entre» medios, sus reflexiones giran en torno a sus prácticas artísticas. Para el poeta, la noción de escritura se agranda; por eso, tanto la tela, la página en blanco como la placa fotográfica son soportes para escribir su obra. En este trabajo abordamos el texto «Filosofía del objetivo» publicado en el libro Motivos.

The aim of this study is to offer a profile detector of the falsifications that could be done to the MMPI-2. We propose minimal changes in the reversed order of the direct punctuations of L y K and the addition of four new specific scales: Odecp, Ds-r, S, F-K. Two groups were used: a control group, composed by normal and clinical subgroups who answered to the MMPI-2 according to standard procedure, and an experimental group, composed by three subgroups with different answer instructions: to give a good image, a bad image or an inconsistent answer. The result is a profile with the proposed scales of validity that initially allow the detection of different falsifications by the subjects when answering the MMPI-2 test.

This paper provides an analysis of car brands positioning on a sample of UEMC university students. The statistical method used was simple correspondence analysis as part of a survey on the sample above mentioned. The results reveal the structure of the automobile market in all cases where several competing groups depending on the price. We also found significant differences in the midrange segment in both periods analyzed, both in the case of students driving license as in the case of students without such authorization.

El presente proyecto de tesis, describe un sistema de localización de vehículos en la ciudad de Lima, que incluye la captura de imágenes del interior, orientado al robo de autos e identificación del chofer. Para ello se implementó un prototipo con hardware de diseño modular y se desarrolló un código de programación para un servidor receptor de datos de posición e imagen. El prototipo descrito en este documento, se basa en un microcontrolador que realiza la comunicación entre los módulos que lo componen que son, un módulo receptor GPS, un módulo transmisor GSM/GPRS y una cámara de comunicación serial; además de ello se incluyó un sensor magnético. Presenta un sistema inteligente apoyado de un modelo basado en el algoritmo k-means y redes neuronales convolucionales con el fin de realizar el diagnóstico de cáncer de cuello uterino por medio de la clasificación de imágenes de citología de base líquida de pruebas de Papanicolau. Advances in biomedical technology have increased the success rate of medical procedures due to improvements in safety and efficacy. During the assessment of patients with acute neurological disorder who require a lumbar puncture, some conditions may hinder its performance, such as infection at the puncture site or bone abnormalities that may cause spinal cord injury. Bedside ultrasound is a good alternative to assist in the performance of a puncture, due to its ability to examine structures that cannot be assessed by physical examination. In primary health care centers, where there may be obstacles that prevent access to expensive imaging tools, ultrasound is a cost-effective option in the approach to urgent pathologies. In view of the foregoing, this paper aims to review important recent evidence-based concepts related to the use of ultrasound for the performance of a lumbar puncture.

The development of a Virtual Lab to perform experiments on histogram-based binarization of grey-leveled images is reported. With the aim of automatizing the binarization process, a Heuristic Binarization Threshold is introduced. Once the histogram of a grayscale input image is obtained, the module calculates a Heuristic Threshold by taking the weighted average of the foreground grey levels of the image. Next those pixels in input image whose grey levels are above this threshold are highlighted. Although still not experimentally optimum, this heuristic threshold provides a first approximation towards automatic binarization of greyscale images.

Football, a highly popular sport all over the world, requires that professional footballers practice it on a field of play in ideal conditions, which, among other things, includes the usage and maintenance of healthy natural grass. In this study, we present an unsupervised allocator strategy for image analysis of football pitches that uses k-means clustering and color comparison to assess whether a playing field is in good or bad condition. Our approach considers proportions of dominant RGB colors for automatized decision-making. We developed a prototype and tested it with a series of images; this paper offers a comparison between the findings of this test and our expected results.

Es indispensable desarrollar herramientas que permitan obtener resultados precisos en cuanto al diagnóstico de complicaciones traumatológicas haciendo uso de imágenes de rayos X, las cuales se consideran como primera fuente de información para el diagnóstico de complicaciones traumatológicas debido principalmente a su fácil adquisición y bajo costo. De este modo, la reconstrucción de un modelo 3D a partir de estas imágenes puede ser la solución para obtener resultados más precisos que una MRI o CT haciendo uso de métodos de visión computacional, tales como segmentación y registro. Finalmente, la generación de un modelo 3D de una estructura ósea determinada dará lugar al diseño de una prótesis específica del paciente; lo que facilita el proceso de decisión clínica para evaluaciones preoperatorias, evaluaciones postoperatorias e intervenciones quirúrgicas

Moderate resolution imagery (MODIS) data from the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) can be used to estimate aboveground biomass at large spatial scales; however, validation of the information with fieldwork is required to make more accurate grassland vegetation predictions. The study was conducted in three districts of the central highlands of Peru. In total, 153 grass samples (high grassland and low grassland) were collected after reading NDVI in situ within a pixel of 250x250 m, with a frequency of three months during a three year period. Satellite images were downloaded from the MODIS sensor to obtain the NDVI. The NDVI-MODIS values were calibrated with the NDVI registered in situ, using regression models.
