Education for Citizenship and Human Rights is the civic-moral formation of an educational system. It is a subject, with contents and objectives, that has received praise and criticism, which I will try to review here, and its value and importance for democratic coexistence is unquestionable. In this paper, from a secular perspective, I analyze the subject, its place in the constitutional system of the rule of law, both the perspectives and the challenges it poses to the educational model. The deliberative democracies must train active and critical citizens to exercise their rights, and fulfill their responsibilities. In addition, citizenship education strengthens people’s commitment to the political life of their society, regenerates confidence in institutions, and guarantees democratic participation for all under conditions of equality and respect.

This paper highlights the humanistic aspect of human rights within a globalized world, and particularly in government policies, which has neglected the importance of human rights in overcoming many conflicting aspects of our society. In this perspective it becomes clear the condition of human nature, from its ontological root, which gave rise to and foundation for Universal Human Rights, leaving certain relativistic, subjectivist and even reductionist approaches that do not respond to the vision integral of the person.

This article reviews the processes of consolidation of the principle of legality and of the criminalisation of crimes against humanity in international criminal law from a historical perspective. It starts with the Nuremberg Tribunal of 1945 and then traces the development of these two processes side-by-side: the enshrinement of the principle of legality in a series of universal treaties protecting human rights between the 1960s and the 1980s and the criminalisation of crimes against humanity in the Statutes for the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and for Rwanda and in the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

This article examines the historical evolution of human rights and their current impact as a global phenomenon. It highlights that the global interest in human rights is not a creation of the United Nations (UN) alone, but rather a movement that has transcended local and regional boundaries. Although the UN has been instrumental in the promulgation of key documents such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the The International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, its role in the promotion of human rights has been relatively limited. This is because the emergence of global interest in these rights responds more to a conjuncture driven by specific interests. In this context, the author analyzes the concept of ideology from two perspectives: the Marxist view, which sees ideology as a false consciousness that justifies class interests, and the analytical view, which...

The present paper explores the relationship among women, sexual minorities and the access to justice from the perspective of contemporary political liberalism of John Stuart Mill, Michael Walzer, John Rawls and Martha Nussbaum and the post-socialist prospect of Nancy Fraser. In this sense is detached from both the approach of the so-called third wave of feminism, because it rejects its centrality in the identity and the difference in biological basis, and the classical liberal approach thatdefines the terms of the justice without taking into account the voices of the subjects involved. At the same time, it explores the constitution of human sexuality from a hermeneutical perspective and seeks to establish the bases for sexual justice.

The text aims to identify aspects that should be considered in preparing the State’s institutions to effectively combat human trafficking of a transnational nature. It addresses four main issues. First, it notices the specific problems of foreign human trafficking victims, which could be confused or overlapped with other categories, such as migrant smuggling and illegal migrant status. Subsequently, it develops three fundamental arguments that give primacy to their status as victims of human trafficking and their specialized attention from a human rights perspective. Thirdly, it provides guidelines on the elements that should constitute this approach from the specific rights of foreign victims of human trafficking. Finally, the Peruvian legal and institutional framework is analyzed, as well as its possibilities and challenges for adequate attention to foreign victims of trafficking.

A first reading of the anti-corruption treaties in force shows that they do not establish any direct relationship with human rights. This situation is replicated with the treaties that deal with human rights in the international legal system, since there is no palpable link between them and corruption. In this context, the purpose of this study is to find the relationship between corruption and human rights from an international legal perspective. Although there is no ostensible link between the aforementioned concepts, the author argues that the fight against and prevention of corruption has its origin in the United Nations Charter and regional charters, since acts of corruption are contrary to the principles of those charters. To that extent, corruption represents a threat, affectation and hindrance to human rights and, in certain cases, represents a violation of those rights.

This article deals with the environmental/ecological Humanities in Peru and its relationship with complexity. For this purpose, a specialized bibliographic search was carried out. The review concludes that although environmental/ ecological humanities are not explicitly developed in Peru to date, there are contributions from the perspective of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinarystudies, especially from literature, the arts, environmental history and forestry philosophy. Some of the hybrid disciplines that are considered components of the environmental/ecological humanities are also developed, although they are not manifestly recognized as contributions towards this field of transdisciplinary studies. The complexity sciences with their orientation of indeterminacy, non-linearity, the study of undecidable and non-trivial problems enriches the understanding of life in general and theref...

At present, one of the problems that the protection of human rights suffers from a philosophical perspective focuses on the corruption that exists and the poor administration of justice. We must understand that the protection of human rights must not only be limited to the fundamental rights of man, but also to opt for an optimal justice system that can guarantee the safety and protection of citizens. Just as the legal system must guarantee the effectiveness in the application of the norms and in the courts, the problem of corruption must try to diminish so that it is possible to begin to speak not only of a correct administration of justice, but of a correct application from the human rights.
