In recent decades our country has been acquiring a certain global touch that has allowed it to grow and expand economically, however, it is not quite right when we look back and observe that growth has also brought with it patterns of "modern countries" that distort realities and that far from contributing to the strengthening of families, the integral education of children and the climate of social respect, generate confusion between budgets essential for social welfare, such as biology and culture, respect and discrimination; these patterns are included in what we will call "Gender Approach", socially extended thinking that currently aims to impose itself. Through a radical conception of the term gender, which seeks the antagonism between sex and gender to nullify the presence of the biological, personal and family visa data.

The analysis of binary conceptual systems includes "man and woman" as paradigms of opposite categories. In many cultures, the use of the categories "woman and man", to facilitate thinking, seems to be part of an ordering system in which women are placed on the less valued and inferred side of the opposition. Thus, some authors have suggested that women are to men, what nature is to culture. Others have drawn attention to the way in which the left or right hand is used to express gender differences, in the words of Evans Pritchard, "a slight organic asymmetry becomes a symbol of an absolute moral polarity" (1973).

Chirikyacu, Chunchiwi, and Chirik Sacha, located in the San Martin region (Peru), are indigenous communities affiliated with the National Program of Forest Conservation for Climate Change Mitigation. The three communities approved the implementation of the Conditional Direct Transfer Mechanism (TDC, acronym in Spanish) as a financial tool for primary forest conservation. This research characterizes the participation of the beneficiaries from the type of involvement and participation size along the TDC execution, identifying drivers that facilitate and limit the participation of the beneficiaries’ minority.Minorities, as in any society, have access to fewer opportunities. In the three communities, I found larger minority groups (such as women) than others with less population (such as monolingual), as well as gender norms accepted in the communities, which limit the minority groups from...

Gender: Incredibly, this word is very fashionable in all environments and spaces, and it is said that the concept of gender can be found in each of our daily actions; moreover, it was present since the beginning of humanity. But the difficulties for its understanding and implementation begin when we put the word equity before it, that is, "gender equity", which we define as complementary, equal opportunities, equal value of men and women, both united in the construction of a new world.

Objective: To learn about and compare breastfeeding practices, complementary feeding and the nutritional status of preschoolers attending various child development centers in a municipality of Mexico City. Materials and methods: An analytical cross-sectional study which analyzed a sample of 444 preschoolers who underwent anthropometric measurements and hemoglobin determination. Additionally, information on breastfeeding andcomplementary feeding practices was gathered from mothers. The children were categorized into two age groups (13 to 59 months and 13 to 80 months). Results: The average age was 48.4 months, with 90 % having received breastfeeding for an average of 7.7 months and 63 % having started complementary feeding before six months of age. Significant linear correlations were observed inheight-for-age (r = 0.88) and weight-for-age (r = 0.72), and 6.5 % exhibited stunting. Accordi...

This doctoral thesis investigates the relationship between informality, gender, and financial development and inclusion through two complementary empirical studies. The first paper is based on international data, it explores the long-run and short-run dynamics between informality, financial development, and financial inclusion using a dynamic heterogeneous panel data model applied to 152 countries over the period 2004–2017. The results suggest that greater financial inclusion and development significantly reduce informality in the long run, particularly in developing countries, although the strength and significance of these effects vary across regions. The second paper focuses on Peru, where informality is persistent and tends to affect women more. Using data from the Peruvian National Household Survey (ENAHO) and classifying informal workers into type-S (structural) and type-N (non-s...

The present paper is an approach to the construction, development and dissemination of gender roles (male and female) from the publicity established in Lima. This self-critical look at the advertising profession rather than blame wishes to describe a reality often ignored or filtered by various factors. It also proposes ways to deal with this problem facing its principal actors: Advertising, customers and especially teachers and students from different universities and institutes that apparently do not regard this as an important part of the training provided to new generations favoring perpetuation of stereotypical gender roles. For this article we have resorted to bibliographic research, analysis of advertisements and interviews with professionals who can provide different and complementary perspectives in order to understand this reality, seek consensus and pathways to a new approach ...

Data on gender representation in food and beverage advertisements may allow for a better understanding of how the food industry is targeting different audiences based on gender. Nonetheless, scant research on food and beverage print advertising with a gender approach has been conducted. Therefore, we sought to assess the prevalence of gender focus in print advertisements found inside corner stores in two cities: Guatemala City, Guatemala, and Lima, Peru. Data description: We developed two complementary datasets as part of the study: (1) a dataset of digital photographs of 200 food and beverage print advertisements found in corner stores located near schools (100 ads per country selected according to criteria such as product type, image quality, and uniqueness); (2) a quantitative dataset with data of the content analysis of these photographs. We employed 19 variables to record the genera...

This article analyzes gender-segregated spaces in metro systems as a response to sexual harassment in public transport. Based on a comparative study structured across five dimensions (operational design, governance and enforcement, complementary measures, reported outcomes, and controversies), it reviews five international cases (Mexico City, Tokyo, Dubai, Cairo, and Rio de Janeiro) together with a baseline analysis for Lima, with the aim of identifying achievements, limitations, and transferability conditions. The findings show that women-only cars consistently increase users perceived safety and comfort, and, in high-demand contexts, may support longer and more continuous trips. However, their structural effectiveness is limited: harassment persists in micro-spaces of the journey (station entrances, platforms, transfer corridors), reporting rates remain low, and suboptimal operational ...

Supranational and national regulations have recognized the rights of all people in general, proscribing discrimination based on sex. In recent decades, the term “gender” has been introduced in order to protect the rights of women and eliminate violence against them. However, gender ideology does not lay its foundations in reality and neither does it serve its intended purpose. To achieve a life free of violence, we must begin by recognizing that all human beings are people, that dignity is an inherent quality of every human being and that, for this reason, we are all subjects of law, deserving of respect and treatment. according with our nature. Men and women share the same dignity, but at the same time we are different, which makes us complementary. Differences, taking into account the dignity and freedom of each one, are wealth, they are not the cause of violence.

This article presents research describing gender roles offered to boys and girls from Christmas toy advertising through broadcast television in Lima. These messages provide content that lead to the adoption of stereotypical gender roles from an early age, which are perpetuated throughout life. This article has been worked on a multidisciplinary approach and from a quantitative and qualitative perspective. Analysis was performed first toy market in Lima, the number of spots broadcast during the Christmas season, and then select the most emission spots and analyze how gender representations proposed. The different and complementary looks seek to understand this reality and how widespread evidence to bring these campaigns to propose new ways to build more equitable sexuality advertising.

This work was carried out with the indigenous communities of the Mirití-Paraná river, a short tributary of the Caquetá (Japura) river, located northwest of Colombia’s Amazon basin. I set forth the therapeutic journey of Enio Yukuna, an old man who had a traffic accident and, when telling the story of what happened, recalled that his misfortune began some decades ago when he went tapir hunting in a clay lick. His story and journey are relevant because he talks about how he conceives the land, cosmopolitics, the ontological processes to  learn shamanism, and of the interaction of biomedicine and the Western medical system. In doing so, he speaks explicitly of the typical healing processes that take place in his region, going through shamans of different ethnic groups and varied knowledge that behave in different ways vis-a-vis his afliction. He also talks about gender comple...

Gender based violence is related to the power imbalance between men and women that is present, to a greater or lesser degree, in all societies. It was almost recently recognized as a human rights problem by the United Nations. It includes emotional, physical and sexual violence. Sexual violence is the extreme form of gender violence, usually accompanied by the other types of violence. Its prevalence is difficult to determine, but it most probably affects at least one third of women sometime in their life. It has multiple consequences over women’s physical and gynecological health, which greatly depends on the quality of care the woman received immediately after the assault. Unfortunately, most emergency health services, including those in women’s hospitals, are rarely prepared to provide correct care to these women. Care should be  multidisciplinary and involves crisis treatment, me...
