Artificial intelligence (AI) is making inroads into academia, transforming the dynamics of higher education. This study aims to describe the integration of AI in college writing and research in the classroom. To this end, a case study was proposed where the use of AI tools was implemented in expository and argumentative writing courses, and a qualitative methodology was adopted to detail the planning and implementation phases. The results, obtained from a questionnaire applied to students at a particular Peruvian university, reveal positive perceptions towards the assistance of AI in improving their writing skills. The paper concludes that the incorporation of AI in university academic writing courses is feasible and beneficial for the development of communicative competencies.

Among the most relevant academic problems in a university educational context, it is related to the lack of learning methodologies and strategies that the teacher must teach in the classroom, therefore, it is preponderant to develop competency-based learning. The objective was to determine how competency-based learning improves the academic performance of the History of Peru course in the students of the 1st cycle of the Law School of the University of Huánuco. The quantitative type was considered, the explanatory level and the design is quasi-experimental, where the pre-test and post-test were applied in the control and experimental groups. The population consisted of a total of 73 students. The technique used was observation, and the data collection instrument was the "rubric". The results showed that 87.4% of the students in the experimental group achieved passing grades, while in th...

In the presence of exponential growth in the country’s universities’ population, it is necessary to reflect upon the management of massive courses1 in the first semesters. This doesn’t only imply to adequately orient, educate and insert an elevated number of students to university life. There’s also a need to coordinate with an important number of teachers who must develop classroom material and academic documents necessary for the good development of the teaching-learning system, following the UPC’s pedagogic model. A management that gives importance to the completion of established times by the shift coordinator, in detriment of the production and transmission of knowledge, is destined to fail. This article proposes that the management of massive courses, in a context like the one mentioned in the first lines, must be based on the production and management of knowled...

We show the results of the teaching-learning experience of the Math 'Level 0' course given to the freshers at UPC who do not pass the Math 'Level Exam'. The work was based on the feedback of the learning process and it was done at the same time that the university 'methodology of competencies' was being applied. The difference was based on the feedback given on each class based on evaluations that measured their cognitive and 'procedural knowledge'(part calculus and modelling of everyday situations). The comparison with the results obtained at the end of the week in general evaluations (common for each class) were positive, which encouraged us to keep up this learning process by common agreement. At the end of the course when comparisons between each class were made we saw that 70% passed the course due to applying this methodology. The in...

Precision medicine today is a significant scientific advance in healthcare, but it also poses important bioethical dilemmas. This literature review analyzes the main ethical challenges associated with its implementation, with special emphasis on privacy, autonomy, justice, and equity. Thirty-four relevant studies were reviewed from academic databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and ScienceDirect, selecting those that addressed ethical implications related to informed consent, the confidentiality of genetic data, equity in access to personalized therapies, and specific challenges in vulnerable populations. The results show a consensus on the need to establish clear regulatory frameworks, promote education in medical ethics, and formulate inclusive public policies. It is concluded that the benefits of precision medicine can only be fully realized by integrating ethical principles that ...

This paper aimed to study the effect of education based on concept map on the academic achievement of secondary school male students in the field of thinking and media literacy. Quasi-experimental research method was used with experimental and control groups. Three classrooms were selected by purposive sampling method (one concept map presentation class, one concept map presentation and construction class and one control class) by random arrangement. In the group of presentation and construction (combined), the course materials were presented to the learners in the form of a concept map. The experimental groups were trained separately for 8 sessions by the teacher-made and combined concept map method and the control group was trained by the traditional method. All groups completed the teacher-made test of academic achievement at two levels of knowledge and perception (understanding). The...
