YouTube is a space for the dissemination of languages. In this article, we study the discourses on the teaching and learning of Aymara on the social network called YouTube, in videos created by institutions, independent groups and users in general in Bolivia. For this purpose, a discursive analysis of the comments made by cybernauts or followers is carried out. The research concludes that this is a case of linguistic activism in social networks, which is valued by their followers, while transmitting criticisms based on linguistic ideologies about language and its use.

The lesbophobic lexicon in Peru is created by the rejection of lesbian women because of their sexual orientation. The objectives of this paper are the following: to identify insulting lexical constructs against lesbians in Peruvian virtual forums and to interpret them as representations of symbolic violence and performative acts of hate speech. Methodologically, seven lexemes (“camionera”, “machito”, “chito”, “machorra”, “machona”, “marimacha”, “tortera”, “marimacha”) that are used in the interactions of forum members are selected. To study the semiotic signifiers and meanings, we start from the definitions proposed by academic dictionaries, particularly on Peruvianisms, and then contrast them with the social meanings situated in the discourses of the forum members; subsequently, we explain that the lexical voices generate and reproduce violence and hatred...

Artificial intelligence (AI) is making inroads into academia, transforming the dynamics of higher education. This study aims to describe the integration of AI in college writing and research in the classroom. To this end, a case study was proposed where the use of AI tools was implemented in expository and argumentative writing courses, and a qualitative methodology was adopted to detail the planning and implementation phases. The results, obtained from a questionnaire applied to students at a particular Peruvian university, reveal positive perceptions towards the assistance of AI in improving their writing skills. The paper concludes that the incorporation of AI in university academic writing courses is feasible and beneficial for the development of communicative competencies.

Studies of queísmo and dequeísmo record evidence of these forms in higher education contexts; that is, in environments where it is assumed that the use of the standard language predominates. Along these lines, research has been carried out in spaces such as universities. These phenomena, which correspond to non-standard uses, are even used by students of Humanities or Literature. The objective of this research is to describe the extended use of these linguistic forms in students of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences (FLCH) of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) in Lima-Peru, using two academic variables: courses in the university academic specialty and time in the university academic specialty. Methodologically, 40 students from FLCH schools were surveyed. This sample comprises students who entered to study between the years 2016 and 2020. The results of the wor...
